Small screen's Kashish (Aamna Sharif) of Kahiin To Hoga (Star Plus) lives out of a Vanity Fair make-up box. She has over 500 pairs of shoes (the Imelda Marcos of Indian television?) and tonnes of imported perfumes.
Aamna says, "I love to live like a princess". We wouldn't agree less. Here's a look into Aamna's world … THAT'S ME!: See how chubby I was as a child. I still remember at the age of three I stole a make-up box and walked out of my house, my ammi had to get me back. I loved dressing myself up and dancing to film songs. I have a tape with me of my performance in school.
As I come from a traditional Muslim family so I faced lot of resentment on my decision to be a part of the glamour world. I think a lot of credit goes to my mom for standing by me, and today she is on cloud nine to see my work get appreciated. MEET THE HOT STEPPER: I love to indulge in shoes. After perfumes if there is anything that I am addicted to, it would be shoes. I own at least 500 different pairs of footwear. I make it a point to look perfect from head to toe, and wearing the correct shoes makes hell lot of a difference.
My new house is going to have a gigantic shoe rack separately for these 'babies' of mine. CHOCOLICIOUS: I am a total chocolate freak. I can't live without them. Actually those who meet me think I must be a hardcore diet follower, but am not. I love eating. I miss those days when I could go to Bandra Bandstand and eat masala pav.
Fame takes away quite a few things from you. I can't shop like I used to, or hang out with my friends. But at the end of the day when you see people appreciate your work on screen its worth the sacrifice you make. SUJAL'S GIFT: My best friend Sujal (Rajeev Khandelwal) gifted me this sweet boy. We hang out a lot as friends, but there is nothing beyond that. I am still-hunting for my Mr Perfect. He would have to provide me security, and be understanding at the same time.
Of course, good looks are important, I won't hang around with someone who isn't presentable. But as far as Rajeev is concerned we are nothing more than friends. IGNITE MY SENSES: Perfumes are my weakness. I just can't stop buying them. Smelling good is very important in my opinion. I own everything from a Christian Dior to a Calvin Klein.
Someone with a good choice of a perfume will definitely ignite my senses. I believe in perfection. It is very important to look good in this industry, especially when you are in the eye of the media all the time. DRESSING UP: Which one looks better? I love dressing up. I never wear the same ensemble twice. I love to mix and match my clothes. I think a woman must wear clothes that compliment her body. I find myself comfortable in both ethnic as well as western wear.
My style mantra is to avoid buying something I wouldn't wear. I get calls from Pakistan, London and abroad on the clothes I wear on Kahiin To Hoga.
All that credit goes to my stylist Nimsud whom we all refer to as maasi . She is responsible for my look. MEOW MEOW: Isn't she a darling? My cat's name is Coco and she is four months old. I gifted her to my mom and now she has become the apple of my eye. I love playing with her when I am at home.
She has quite an attitude though, it takes time to get friendly with her. STIRRING A STORM: I love cooking. Whenever I have time, I like to prepare spicy masaledar food. I can't resist hogging on cheeseburgers. In fact I always tend of have dollops of butter and cheese in my food.
By God's grace it doesn't show on me. I think fitness is something anybody should take up seriously. |
