Rajeev's Moment of Truth
If all goes as planned, the dashing Rajeev Khandelwal, who shot to fame with his role as Sujal in Kahin Toh Hoga, will soon be returning to his small screen roots after a break of more than a year. Rajeev has been offered a chance at hosting the Indian version of the US reality show The Moment Of Truth.
RAJEEV says, "I have been approached for the show but nothing has been finalised till now. Presently, I am in Goa shooting for my upcoming film Peter Gaya Kaam Se."
On the American game show The Moment of Truth, contestants answer a series of 21 personal and embarrassing questions to win cash prizes. The show will be produced by Synergy Communications but a name hasn't been decided on as yet.
Anita Kaul (Roza) Basu, a producer with Synergy Communications, says, "We've approached many people but yes, he (Rajeev) is the main candidate." When asked about the exact format of the show, Anita remains tightlipped, saying, "We will soon be revealing the details to the media." Along with Rajeev, Anil Kapoor was also approached to host the show.
According to a source, the show will be exactly the same as the American version. The contestant will be hooked up to a polygraph and will be asked 50 questions prior to the actual show. Once on the show, the contestant is asked 21 of the same questions. He or she does not know the results of the polygraph. With each round of questions, each becoming more personal as the show progresses, the contestant wins a certain amount of money, if his or her answers are true (in accordance with the polygraph). If the contestant is caught lying or chooses not to answer further, the game is over.
Rajeev was last seen on television in a special appearance on CID, where he was promoting his film Aamir. Presently, he is busy shooting for his next film and will start shooting for the show by the end of April.
According to Anita, the show will be launched during the middle of this year. It will most probably be a daily which will air from Monday to Thursday on Star Plus.
