Walk to health
…says Ali Asgar as he shares his fitness fundas with Hiten Trivedi
Being an actor is tough. And Ali Asgar or Kamal Agarwal (as we know him better) of 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki' fame knows it only too well.
But what helps him cope up with the daily grind is his balanced routine and a life "sans any addictions, apart from addiction to perform varied and better roles" as he puts it. Here's more from the actor himself on his diet and fitness regime that keeps him fit and kicking year after year…
Food and diet:
I have a heavy breakfast, which consists of Forex, wheat bread, corn flakes etc. and a cup of tea. I am allergic to milk and curd, so I avoid them. Lunch and dinner consist of home cooked fare with a lot of green leafy vegetables.
I love non-veg food, but I try to strike a balance between veg and non-veg food. I try eating vegetarian food for about 15 days in a month. I avoid too much of salt because that's again not good for the body. I eat a lot of fruits, especially watermelon, mango, 'anjeer', 'safed jaamun' etc. I avoid oily foods, cold items and sweets.
Actually, I am a very moody person when it comes to food. If I feel like eating 'vada-paav', I eat it. I am a person who believes that one should always try and taste the speciality of every place one visits, but that does not mean that we go hogging.
Exercising moderation is the key to good health. I drink as much water as I can because that keeps our kidney function normal. It purifies the blood and adds a glow to the skin. And thank God, I don't have any addictions at all. Neither do I smoke, nor have I ever touched alcohol in my life.
Exercise and activity:
I don't go to the gym at all. I prefer walking. I walk daily as much as I can. This is something which I cannot afford to miss. Even if I have a very hectic schedule, I make sure that I walk for at least hr to 1 hr. But yes, not at the cost of my sleep. I also do Yoga, though
A word for fans:
Please stop smoking, drinking alcohol and eating outside food. I always prefer homemade food. No chef in this world can make better food than our mother. Stick to homemade food as much as you all can to stay away from diseases. And last but not the least; parents are your ultimate well-wishers. So respect them and keep them happy, which in turn will help you stay at peace.
not regularly.
