Roz, I had NO IDEA that you were writing a fic, and I came across it in the AM niche. Read it in one sitting, and ....UPDATE! PLEASE! *grovels on the floor*
Your writing captures wit and emotion perfectly. Absoloutely love the subtle way the story's narrated in, yet manages to develop scenes powerfully! 👏

CH 9 – Kya, Kya, Kya, Kya, Kya?!
"Just go."
"I said I don't want to."
"Just go already!"
"Bhai, you know I don't like to go downstairs whenever Dadu has his business partners over for a party."
"Yeah I know but you need new headlights. I'm tired of driving you around," Adi flips through the television channels restlessly while sitting on his bed.
"You're the one who smashed my headlights!"
Sharvan grabs the worn-out remote from his cousin's hand after which Adi picks up the extra remote from the table next to him. Annoyed by this, Sharvan reaches to also remove the new remote from Adi's hand.
"You know I have three more remotes hiding around in my room," Adi says plainly as he continues to stare at the television screen.
"Why?" a perplexed Sharvan asks.
"I don't like to change the batteries of the remotes," Adi moves to lie down on his bed.
"Nice logic, bro," says a sarcastic Sharvan as he walks out of the room to go talk to his Dadu.
"I think so," a grinning Adi says to a slamming door.
Taking a deep breath, Sharvan walks down the stairs and looks around for his Dadu. Mr. Suresh Mehra is in deep discourse with a man whose face is blocked by a waiter. After spotting his Dadu, Sharvan starts to walk steadily towards him and he's able to make out pieces of their conversation.
"By the way, how are your daughters doing?"
"They are going fine. It's just a matter of time before they are done with their studies and then I have to worry about finding grooms for them."
"Well, don't your daughters go to the same college as my two nephews, Mr. Khanna."
Sharvan stops walking from utter shock and hides behind a caterer after stuffing some money in the caterer's pocket. He sticks his head out for a second to take a look at the Mr. Khanna's face.
"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. That's those monster sisters' father!" he says a little too loudly and slaps his mouth as punishment.
"Yes they do Mr. Mehra. What are you thinking?"
"Your oldest daughter is in the same class as my oldest nephew Adi, right?"
"I believe so. Do you think they know each other?"
Know each other? No they don't know each other. They hate each other!
Sharvan tries to shut his mind up so that he can continue to listen to their conversation.
"I think I saw her here on the day of Sharvan's birthday party, but I don't know if she came here as Adi or Sharvan's guest."
Adi! Adi! Adi's guest, yaar.
"But Sharvan is younger than your oldest daughter, Khanna-saab."
Thank god for my age.
"But not older than my younger daughter Tanu."
What?! No!
"Then again, they both are really young to think about marriage right now. They still have a few more years of college left, Suresh."
"That's right. Tanu and Sharvan are very young for that right now."
Score one for Sharvan!
"So we should ask Maithili and Adi what they think about each other before we decide to dream about their wedding."
"Yes I agree Avinash. In three months or so we can ask them because by then exams will be over and they will have only half a year left to go before they graduate."
"Absolutely Suresh and if they dislike each other, we still have Tanu and Sharvan."
"Good plan," Suresh shakes hands with Avinash.
Oh hell no!
Sharvan picks up what's left of his dropped jaw and heads back upstairs. He runs into Adi's room and closes the door behind him as a confused Adi looks up from his bed.
"What happened? Did Dadu want to slap you for getting your headlights smashed again," he turns back to look at the television program.
More like he wants to get me married. No wait, he wants at least one of us to get married to one of the monster sisters and I am going to make sure that it's not me so I'm sorry Adi bhai.
"Nothing happened. I couldn't find him and I accidentally kicked a waiter who went psycho and started to chase me. That's all."
"Right," a suspicious Adi says.
* * *
Ring! Ring! Ring!
"Oh what the heck man!"
Tanu Khanna opens her eyes in the dark and grabs her ringing cell phone from the table next to her bed.
"It's 3 in the morning so this better be an emergency or else I will kill you!" Tanu screams into the phone.
"It is an emergency junior monster!"
"What did you just call me? And who is this?"
"It's Sharvan."
"Sharvan who?" Tanu rubs her left eye.
"Adi's cousin Sharvan. The one who you dumped a bucket of water on. That Sharvan."
"Oh it's just you. Wait, how did you get my number?"
"From your very friendly friend Shelley."
"Oh I will take care of that girl later but what do you want?"
"We need to meet today before college. Come to the coffee shop across from the college ok. It is really important."
"Yeah right. As if I'm going to come."
She cuts the line as a mad Sharvan redials her number and Tanu yells into the phone again.
"What?!" Sharvan jumps back a little from the phone.
"If you don't want to get married to me, come to the coffee shop!" Sharvan hangs up the phone.
A puzzled Tanu still holds the phone and listens to the dial tone.
"Huh," she lets out softly as she tries to go back to sleep.
* * *
"Kya, kya, kya, kya, kya?!"
"You heard me right. Now do you understand why I needed to see you and why I need your help."
"Are you sure it was my dad."
"Yes, it was Avinash Khanna."
"Damn."
"Exactly, but if we make sure that Adi and Maithili are head over heels in love with each other within three months."
"Three months! That's impossible," Tanu grabs a tighter hold on her cup of coffee.
"No it's not. Do you even watch television? The main leads are in love after a few weeks. It's definitely possible," Sharvan nervously takes a sip from his cup.
"Yeah but this is real life and it's Maithili and Adi."
Just then, as if right on cue, the sound of a collusion is heard and the sound of familiar voices. Tanu and Sharvan look towards the direction of the crash.
"That was my spot, you moron! Get out of there!"
Adi jumps out of the driver's seat and runs to look at the back of his car.
"No, no, no, no! You psycho! Look at what you did to my car," he yells back at Maithili who is still behind the wheel of her car.
"Sweet baby, everything's going to be alright. Okay darling, don't worry," Adi says softly as he runs over the dent and the scratch marks of his car.
Maithili laughs and gets out of her car to reinforce what she thought Adi was doing.
"Are you…are you talking to your car?!" she laughs violently at Adi's actions.
"I'm. trying. to. undo. the. damage. you. have. done. psycho!" Adi takes deep breaths and talks slowly in order to control his anger.
"If. you. hadn't. taken. my. parking. spot. your. darling. would. be. okay. idiot!" Maithili mimics Adi's slow talk.
"Ok that's it. I have had enough from you!" Adi jumps back into his car and backs up right into the Maithili's car.
A shocked Maithili looks on as her headlights strain to remain in tact and the hood of her car tries to maintain its form.
"You have done it again, Vikram Aditiya Mehra!" she gets into her car and starts driving into Adi's car as Adi continues to collide again Maithili's car.
"Ok, here is step number one: we try to stop them from killing each other!" Tanu says.
"Agreed!" Sharvan and Tanu get out of the coffee shop and run towards the freak show occurring in the parking lot of their college.
