Balaji's Bigg Boss twist

Balaji's two shows Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii are going to face tough competition from Bigg Boss 2. Balaji has already introduces some twists in both shows.

In Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii, they have brought back their famous character Trishna. Apart from that, Parvati also had a major accident in which she lost her memory, but now it is said that she has not actually lost her memory but she is pretending to find out about Tanu's murderer in show. However the entire family is not aware about it.

On the other hand, in Kyunki, apart from Vaidehi's revenge from the Virani family, the show had brought in Yash Tonk as Shiv, who is the obsessed lover of Ganga and will torture her now. In a future episode, there will be the entry of Karan-Nadini's long lost son.

Though Nevidita Basu, creative head of Balaji was not available for comment, creative head of Kyunki, Nishi says, "We are planning so many twists and turns in the near future in the show but we cannot reveal much about it."

Balaji has been ruling in 10-11 slot for the past 8 years so will this season of Bigg Boss change the scenario? Last season's show was a big hit.

'Kahani Ghar…' comes to an end

Balaji's landmark show 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki' which marked itd debut in 2000, will be going off-air as the drama series comes to an end. Parvati Bhabhi has been one of the most loved 'bahu' on the tube, and actress Sakshi Tanwar, who plays the character is quite sad about the show coming to an end.

Sakshi feels that the cast and crew is like a family to her as for eight years she has been shooting for the show and meets them almost every day. The show's popularity has been on a decline and that was a concern for Star TV, who made the decision to replace the show.

'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki' will be going off-air on October 2nd, and will be replaces by Balaji's show 'Kasturi'. A new show being produced by Rajan Shahi of 'Bidaai' fame will be air of the 'Kasturi' slot.

So Sakshi Tanwar fans can get ready to bid adieu to the greatest 'Bahu' of the 'Desi' tube as 'Parvati Bhabhi's' 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki' comes to a happy end.

Kahaani actress turns director

Priya Wal, who plays Aditi in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, believes that she is more of an off screen person than on screen. Priya has turned director for a documentary.

An excited Priya informs, "This story is about two boys and two girls. The young girls think they will date a macho man but end up having a relationship with next door, goofy kind of guy. It is only of six minutes. I have written, directed, am acting in it and have also produced it. Apart from me my friends are also there in the movie."

She adds, "The film is going to premiere on September 28 at Shamiana Film Club, Andheri at 6 pm. I will attend that. Of course the premiere is not like a multiplex one. These are the same people who used to have Mocha club. They encourage short filmmakers so they are going to show it wherever they go like Pune, Kolkata and all. I have always been on the creative side, I have written a full fledged script which I will make into a movie in some time."

About Kaahani, she says, "We are shooting for a scene where the four of us get together and are on a mission to save Parvati. We are re-entering the show. Parvati mummy was never in this situation before so she needs someone to rescue her. How the four of us who do not know each other get together. How our personality clashes, is how the story will move forward."

Talking about her personal track, she says, "For me, Aditi is definitely going to be very different than what she has been in the show. Earlier she came back looking for her mother. She has that feeling that her mother is not accepting her. That was the whole vulnerable, emotional stage. But now she has accepted that Parvati is not her mother. She has become strong and has a very different outlook to her life. Her character has grown a lot and is going to be completely unlike her prior cry baby image."

Priya, a Remix girl, has travelled all across India and is now looking forward to have holidays in Europe. She also informs that she will not be seen on the big screen at all and would prefer directing.

    Hum log

Celebs get behind the camera for a change,

Posted On Sunday, August 24, 2008

    Sakshi Tanwar, TV actress

Celebs say they are tired of the paparazzi. So we hand over our camera to them and ask them to shoot their own days. Sakshi Tanwar captures favourite moments of her day
    Framed!

This was part of my plan to gift my parents a framed photograph on their wedding anniversary. If you tell them that you'll click their picture they become very conscious. So on the pretext of testing my phone camera, I made them pose early morning one day.

They look adorable together and I love the childlike grin my father has on his face. On receiving the gift my mother's first response was an angry one, but they loved it and it has been hung up in their room now.
    Moochh ado?

This is one of my uncles. Most of us in my family fondly call him 'mamaji'. At first Isaw him with his moustache curled up, stuck neatly to his cheeks.

Since I didn't have the courage to ask him to undo the entire length of his moustache, I requested my father to ask him to do so. I was amazed at what I saw!
    Chain of love

I deliberately clicked this picture in the silhouette form. They are (from left to right) my bhabhi, niece Nannu, nephew Ballu, my sister and my bother.

They had all come down for a vacation and we decided to go to Madh Island. My niece was dying to get into the water, but the high tide held us at bay. The sun was refusing to set that day; it finally did at 7.35 pm.
    Footnotes

These tiny feet belong to my nephew Ballu and I took this picture on the day he had his mundan ceremony. He was wailing away until everyone decided to try and get him to sleep.

That's when I sneaked in to take this picture. Why the feet? Well, they are cute and chubby for one, and my mother tells me that his feet remind her of mine when I was a baby.
    Hey Ram

This is the Ram Darbar at the Sankraman Studio where we shoot for my serial Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. It has the four idols of Lakshman, Sita, Ram and Hanuman (who is unfortunately hidden by the pillar).

I clicked the picture one early morning when people were lighting up the studio. I tried to capture the glow without using the flash.
    Window to my world

This is the first view I get when I open my eyes every morning. This particular morning was a very bright one and I just reached for the camera and clicked the picture. The sky really determines my mood for the day.

I've grown up with fond memories of the family celebrating tulsi vivah every year when the plant was dressed up like a bride to be wed. It was my mother's decision to keep the traditional tulsi plant at my window.
    That was funny!

This was taken at one of my auditions for which I had borrowed a friend's sari; I love wearing white. The bindi was required for the character.

They were asking me arbitrary questions and this was one moment where something had made me laugh and this was one shot that was completely candid.

Bharat Chawda on his new Kahaani track

Bharat Chawda, who plays Chotu in Kaahani Ghar Ghar Ki, will now be seen in the show in a new look and a positive role.

Updating us about the track, he says, "Right now the story is like I am working in a bank and then receive one letter which informs me that Parvati mummy is in trouble. I have to rescue her. Four of us receive this letter at the same time separately. The four of us have not confronted each other. Slowly you will come to know about the origin of the letter."

Talking about his ever changing look, he says, "I am the only member from Balaji whose looks have been changes four times in the last year and a half. When I started Kaahani, I had short curly hair and was playing a mentally ill person. Then Gauri comes in my life and my attitude changes a bit. I was negative in the show and had straight hair. Now I have become positive so my hair has gone. Everyone has liked this new look of mine."

Bharat says in real life he does not get time to experiment with his style. "I like to concentrate on continuity and if breaks then it shows on screen too. So in real life I did not get a chance to experiment with my look but whenever I get a chance to do so in my show I try doing it. Therefore people will not get to see Ishaan or Chotu's glimpses in other shows. Like n Kuch Iss Tarah, I presented myself differently playing a CID officer."

On the responses he has received so far, he says, "Firstly when I was playing a mad guy everyone used to say 'dekho woh pagal jaa raha hai'. But it is ok as this is also a kind of recognition. Then I did a negative role and people started hating me. Now I have become positive so I hope now I will get some warm responses too."

The re- entry of Priya Wal, Jatin Shah and Bharat Chawda is going to take place next week. Few of them right now are shooting in Lonavala for their entry sequence.

Om denies Kahaani going off air

Rumours have been doing the rounds that Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii is likely to go off air. However, the main lead of the show Kiran Karmarkar says there has been no such official announcement made by production house.

Kiran admits that he too has been hearing such reports from the last six months. "It is not surprising; everyone is calling me and asking me the same question, but we have not been informed about it by the production house .So we also do not know what is happening. We have not got any official date as such - like this is going to be the last date of shooting etc."

He adds "I also do not know which track is going on right now and whether new characters are entering in the show. It all depends on the creative people whether they want to introduce new characters or go ahead with old ones. Moreover my character also re-entered after two years so I have not been shooting for them continuously."

He continues, "If it is actually going off air, then this will be remembered as my first big show. But life never stop when any show ends. In the past too there were shows like Mahabharat, Ramayan, Hum Log, Buniyaad and Junoon. It just lingers in your memory later."

Kiran has been offered some more shows which he has not finalized yet. He is open to reality shows like he took part in Comedy Circus but not a pure dance show. Meanwhile he did the role of Santana in Ekta Kapoor's Mahabharat.

    Saakshi's miseries continue

We have seen her fighting spirit for years; she is the nation's favourite bahu on television. Torture never seems to end for her. The ever sacrificing Saakshi Tanwar is every mother-in-law's dream daughter-in-law. But it will be a role-reversal of sorts in her episodic appearance in Ajeeb. Saakshi will be disowned by her mother-in-law who has no liking for her. This sure will come as a rude shock to all Sakshi's fans who are so used to seeing her play the ideal bahu.

She essays the role of a pregnant lady who has met with an accident where her husband succumbs. To make the matters worse her mother-in-law who never had a liking for her abandons her and her unborn child. Shattered and torn she gives birth to a beautiful baby girl. But eventually she realises that something isn't right with the new-born. Saakshi fights back with gusto as she tries to solve her daughter's problem single- handedly.

The show goes on air this Wednesday at 9:30 pm on 9X.

Well Saakshi, whatever role you take up there is no end to your miseries.

    KAHAANI TO END!!

Balaji Telefilms' popular show 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii', which made Sakshi Tanwar a household name as Parvati, is going to end on October 16 this year.

It was exactly eight years ago that the family soap had started on Star Plus in the prime time slot and since then has ruled the TRP charts. But now the production house is finding it difficult to continue with the same storyline and still command the high ratings. Now, it has decided to do away with the show in favor of a Romeo Juliet type of love story in its place.

The search for the lead pair, which can enthuse freshness in the show, is already on and the serial will be telecast from November 2. Ekta Kapoor also has plans to utilize the time period between October 16 to Nov 2 for some special programmes related to Diwali festival, which is celebrated on a big scale in the whole of India.

Sources reveal that the story of this young love will be set against the feuding background of their families in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
