Well I just stumbled on this forum, because stumbled upon some clips, and I have liked Manav's actor since TBP.

So haven't seen the show, but I guess I get the gist. Wife walks out of her marriage for money/luxury.

Well it's not a trick question generally, yes breaking a commitment is bad. Lying, cheating is bad. Love can end, you can stop having feelings, then just walk out honestly.

However there's also the fact that if you think every answer can be given in simple Y/N, Right/wrong then you have incredibly shallow understanding of world. We live in 1000 shades of grey. Sometimes things get complicated.

Generally, afaik on ITV EMAs are handled badly. As in men are shown as innocent creatures seduced by devious women, and they're forgiven without any change in character. They just cry and the wife takes them. In reality people can move on from EMAs, if they genuinely want to work on it. Therapy, work on relationship, yourself, improvement in character, owning up your responsibility... These are the things which are essential.

In this case Manav was an ideal husband, he fulfilled every wish of Akanksha’s or talents tried to. Even though it was beyond him he bought her the bungalow and did what it took to keep her happy. He suspected Vaibhavs intentions weren’t right even then he didn’t force Akanksha to stop working with him.

Yes he told her a couple of times but always relented to keep her happy.

While Yathu definitely ends up suffering a lot, I think it’s worse for Manav, who did everything to keep her happy but she left him for the riches Vaibhav could give her. Manav also has to hide the fact from Yathu to not hurt him.

I think Manav perhaps truly loved Akansha but she had other plans. She was perhaps a very ambitious lady with very big dreams of owning a mansion & living an ultra-luxurious lifestyle but perhaps either due to peer pressure/parental pressure she compromised on her ambitions and Vaibhav Kapoor was the right man at the right place for her as per her own logic.

It was Vaibhav who was first attracted to her and then devised new schemes such as that Advertisement/Movie Commercial through his PR Agent( don't remember her name).Due to Vaibhav being rich and wealthy she got attracted to him but could not pursue the relationship due to societal norms.

Anyway Manav had always warned her regarding Vaibhav's intentions about his undesirable attraction for her but she did not heed her husband's views.Vaibhav started poisoning her mind regarding compromised Middle-Class Lifestyle and he presented himself as the ideal man saving Akansha from the leary glances of that PR Manager and some other mishap perhaps.

For Akansha Vaibhav is the ideal man-classy rich and wealthy with a sense of elegance whereas Manav is a man burdened with Adarsh-Middle class values. Also she wanted this lifestyle bcoz she used to reminisce about her early modelling days which was cut short due to some circumstances.

Also Vaibhav's falling in love/getting attracted to Akansha was never right in the first place since she was a married woman but mutual passions between the two had more weightage than the married life of Manav and Akansha.

If Akansha really wanted to settle down with Vaibhav that much she should have first initiated the divorce proceedings with her husband rather than shifting straightaway into Vaibhav's home. She did not even spare a thought about her little kiddo Yathu even though she claims to love him so much.

It might look like that Vaibhav was the instigator for the broken married life of Akansha and Manav but its Akansha's current actions that accelerated this breakup. Also Vaibhav is not that much good as he looks.Akansha does not know the man's real face yet.

The relationship between her and Vaibhav is not a pure romantic but a materialistic relationship. Her current relationship with Vaibhav is an illegal relationship.

Sadly the biggest casualty of this mishap is that little kiddo Yathu who's too small to understand such unfortunate big things.

Vaibhav who had his eyes on her right from the moment she entered in his life planned to get Akansha in his life either by hook or by crook. So he planned his actions step by step and initiated such above mentioned devious schemes to separate Akansha and Manav.

Manav made sincere efforts and wanted to give every happiness to Akansha but she never valued his contribution towards her life. For her Vaibhav is the only man and perhaps the only means through which she can fulfill her life-long dreams.

Vaibhav on the other hand is obsessed about her and wanted to settle down with Akansha by any means necessary.

Your Analysis is very good 👍🏼. You are giving some credit to Akanksha which most of us are not ready to give .

There are two more things I like to add:

1. There is not much passion between A and V as A is always pushing V away when he tries to get intimate

2. V does not have any plan to marry A as most probably his wife is still alive . Had he that intention , he, being a clever businessman, would have already started A's divorce procedure

I am not against EMA in general; they happen if a person realizes that s/he loves another person more dearly than his/her spouse (e.g. we/society have somehow accepted EMA s of Dharmendar -Hema, Sreedevi-Bony, Aditya-Rani , Uttam-Supriya, etc. etc.)

What is shown here - is not EM -Affair but EM-greed !

I cannot answer for her but I want to give my long answer...🤡

The patriarchal mindset which Manav projects sometimes. Normally he is a loving husband and a caring father. But then there are times where he is not a modern partner.

1. He sees himself as the 'only' provider of the family. as if it is only his duty to fulfill everyone's needs. Even when his wife starts to work, he sees that as her secondary duty. her Primary duty being the 'only' nurturer of his family.

2. When she makes careless mistake in managing both her job and work and ends up neglecting Yatho, instead of supporting her and understanding that it needs some time to settle down in this multitasking mode, he scolds her. We see that, when it was his turn to juggle both the tasks he also made mistakes.

3. He doesn't trust his wife to handle herself from the creeps like VK. He sees himself as a protector. He could always just warn her about the ill-intensions he felt from VK towards her.. but in the end, she should be able to protect herself. He somehow makes this his duty.

4. He makes the decision to admit Yatho into Vinay's school without consulting his wife. He did this out of love towards his son.. but he and his wife both are equally responsible towards Yatho's future. Later, when she changes Yatho's school without consulting him(tit for tat), he feels hurt. And besides,we later see that, Yatho's and Vinay's friendship was not at all affected.

5. The are equals, When Akaksha started to work, he doesn't feel like sharing the work load in the house. He could have started cooking by watching YT(a platform where 100s of videos are uploaded for the same recipe in many different languages) or cleaning the house or picking up Yatho etc... But we see him in Kitchen once .. that too on her first day of work and then Nada...

6. The is this innate need to prove to others that the he is capable of doing anything. Be it the buying the bungalow which is much higher than his financial capacity or not accepting Vinay's mother's help in taking care of Yatho.

Maybe I'm missing some other points... but this all I can think of...

wow, you certainly made points, but you definitely missed the intention behind his each action, and his purpose behind it! You seem to be looking at his actions through your preconceived lenses, rather than trying to understand him and the reasons behind his decisions!! Geez! Yikes! This is what happens when you see things ‘upside down’ 🤓

I agree that Manav has patriarchal mindset to some extent but Akanksha from the very beginning was all about status and money and no morality .

She did not leave Manav and Yathu for love or career ( that I would have understood ), but for greed , for shopping and living luxuriously .

Akanksha is very selfish and stupid woman and not worthy to be anyone's wife.

I won’t say Manav has a patriarchal mindset. If he did he would’ve stopped Akanksha from working. Even when it came to Vaibhav he warned her, only when he realized things were going to far did he stop her.

Yes, he didn’t cook much or help around the house, but he was always around for Yathu. Even after saying he won’t make it for his first day at the new school, Manav did make it.

When it comes to Yathu, Manav is a hands on parent.
Even when Akanksha was leaving, he didn’t force the marital vows or social pressure on her.

If anything, I think Manav is a pretty balanced husband
