T his is the third show that the production house have tak- en over. The first was Ek Lad- kii Anjanii Sii (Sony) and the sec- ond being Mamta (Zee). From last week, Shreya Creations has taken over the production of Kaajjal Sabbki Ankhon Mein Bassi (Sony). The series was earlier handled by K Sera Sera's Twenty Twenty Television. Nisha Gautam, co-partner of Shreya Creations along with Sheel Kumar, confirms the news saying, "K Sera Sera was unable to give its television projects pri- ority. They decided to opt out. We discussed it with the channel and it's been a smooth takeover." Gautam has been a freelance creative producer for TV shows like Viraasat (Star One) and Siin- door(Zee). He is also the script head for Solah Singaar (Sahara One). Saying he's been the cre- ative producer for Kaajjal for the past three months, he adds, "I first produced Devi (Sony) with Ajay Devgan and then did Yeh Meri Life Hai (Sony). I've been a part- ner with Shreya for three years now, wherein they look after the finances and I manage the cre- ative aspects." The show had been in the news with its actors claiming they weren't being paid on time and rumours of it being wound up. Laughs Gautam saying, "I've been hearing that Ek Ladkii Anjanii Sii is going to wind up since last Octo- ber but isn't it still around? Both Ek Ladkii and Kaajjal are churn- ing out good ratings." Admitting that the storyline was becoming too regressive, he says, "Humour is an integral part of the new track. It's more like Manmohan Desai's style of film- making now." Kaacon Sethi has resigned as CEO from K Sera Sera, as of April 3. She is now co-producing Kaaj- jal with Shreya Creations. Saying she wanted to plonk herself in the television space, Sethi adds, "K Sera Sera's priori- ties were films and not television. I've always been passionate about TV. So I decided to move on. Besides, I'm joined at the hip with Kaajjal. "I'm contributing to Kaajjal's script and wish to write more, so quit to take that forward. I can only grow from here as this move stems from a huge passion for TV." The story of Kaajjal has taken a new twist with Dev's killing. His look alike Raju Rangeela (Apoor- va Agnihotri) is not Dev but cir- cumstances force Kaajjal (Surveen Chawla) to take his help to spot the troublemakers in the family. He poses as Dev and enters the Pratap Singh house- hold. Sethi says, "New characters enacted by Shama Sikander (Chameli) and Abhileen (Poha) share an excellent chemistry. These characters will soon migrate to Mumbai." Sethi has spent the last 18 years in the corporate advertising, mar- keting and communications world. She joined Sony Entertain- ment Television as head of sales in 1995 and soon became the busi- ness head of Set Max. She worked with the channel for seven years. She then moved to K Sera Sera as CEO and gradually set up Twenty Twenty, its television and new media subsidiary. She was the creative director for nearly 100 episodes of Darna Mana Hai (Star One). "I intend producing two more shows this fiscal," signs off Sethi.
