I think Just dance gives more importance to Western dance forms than Indian classical dance. Two contestant from US who are very good classical Indian dancers lost out because they were not trained in lopping and popping...Indian classical doesn't count...I have seen all the classical dancers eliminated...very sad..

Personally I would love to see Indian classical contestant win...after all it is an Indian show and should showcase best in Indian dance..

so much for wishful thinking. name one dance show, including dance india dance, where an indian classical dancer won? or for the matter, different indian classical dance forms were shown?
JD still has saumita, though the less that can be said about her dancing is better.

Indian dance shows are focusing more on the western styles because they feel that the audience likes it and they are in trend right now...
but they are not thinking that their international viewers would like to see
something more classical that is attached to the culture...
its sad how locking and popping dancers always get more importance
because they show new tricks n stunts...also many of the choreographers
themselves are never trained in classical...
I feel tht they should make challenges where the judges assign the dancers wit a new dancestyle each week and we should get to see all
the poppers do some classical... and saumita do ANYTHING ELSE!

I agree like Hrithik assigned them different forms in the second round to check their versatile they were! I want to see Rajit do classical, same with Ankan!

The problem is that classical dancers have been trained for years and years - it is much easier (in my opinion and observation) for a classical dancer to attempt western forms of dance than it is for a primarily western style dancer to perform classical. No matter how good they do, it will never be good enough because you cannot practice years of dance in one week. Also, we lump together all non-Indian classical dance forms into one and give it a name like western style dance, when in reality, there are hundreds of dance forms lumped in that one category. I think the best thing for reality shows to do is to dedicated each week to one dance form, forcing all contestants to attempt all dance forms and show their versatility (and how quickly they can pick up a form that is not their forte).

I agree with u but the topic maker seems to focu on locking and popping and its kinda true, people who do different forms of street dancing seems to be hailed a lot.

As for me, i would not only want the contestants to do Indian classical but also western classical ie ballet. they are the most difficult dance forms in the world

I like ur idea about focussing on chosen dancen forms on a week to see how people perform on them. lets hope it happens.

In my opinion the street dance are good but they are not as fun to watch as Classical dances. I can enjoy street dance once a while but just to have street dance show is not a dancing show. For me this show has not worked..

I like your idea of different dance form but at the same time their nothing like watching a trained dancer..you cannot get an award or called the best if you have not dedicated yourself to the art form..the same goes for vocal singing or playing an instrument..just jumping up and down and doing street dance doesn't provide the viewer with a spiritual experience that should be part of the great dancing.

In the end Farah should never be a judge of a dance show because she is not an accomplish dancer and has no idea of dancing moves etc...all she is talking about energy..nothing about talent and beat..they chose a belly dancer ( a dance performed in the haram's for the master, ) over a classically trained dancer...what a joke...
