Since a lot of people compain the forum is not much active, i thought of starting this performance analysis, where people can post what they think of the performances.Hopefully me
or someone else will continue this in the next few weeks and we can have some healthy discussion or topics on this forum as well.

So,at first lets discuss the performances . up in the beginning was the top 3 performaces. As expected, all three did something with theme patriotism . First up was soumita, who did ( acc
to what shown on VT) a bharatnatyam kalari mixed on the song arambh hain prachanda, high as usual on emotional quotient, but the dance was average, expressions average too. For some reason, i
am not being able to connect with soumita right from the beginning and i think she needs to buck up. I was surprised to see the judges were all praise of a performance, which was at the best average.
And no i didnt see any bharatnatyam in her dance.

Then was irfan's turn. irfan did on a medly of songs ,theme indian soldiers and i assume the dance form was freestyle, since it had more of storytelling, and lyrical than actual dance. It was quite heartfelt and
bit different from usual irfan style. However not much impressed either and agreed with the judges.

Finally it was rajit. Rajits performance was truly the best of the lot. he was clean, preice, his movements were clean, with finess, nice balance of emotion and its physical expression.
the beautiful synchronisation with the background dancers made it even better.

*** God forbid, no one has to go through what irfan had too, it was really touching to hear him. It reminded me of the stories my parents and grandparents told me, and i thank God, i never had to experience
any of it on my own.*****

The performance for the elimination

Ankan once again was unbelievable. the mistakes he did yesterday, he more than made up for it today. it is highly possible we have an actor in making. It is always nice to see the risks this child takes, even if it
doesnt pay off once a while, i cannot remember seeing same genre, style of dance in this guy, and he probably is the only one in the competition so far who has tried as many things as possible within this short
span, i wonder who his choreographer is.
kruti did something up her alley, jazz. technically it was flawless and beutiful but i think she lacks the sass to carry of broadway jazz. She looks better doing ballet and contemporary.
But it was a technically good performance.
hitesh's performance was a good one, but unfortunately it was weaker compared to ankan and kruti. also, hitesh is the weakest among the three bottom three dancers. I thought his elimination was quite justified.

As usual, Hritik gave him a check too. call me cynic, but it looks like the whole giving eliminated contestant a cheque is some just dance philosophy and its just happening through the hands of HR. it is a little difficult to believe
bollywood actors dish out cheques of 3 lakh rupees( again same amount for everyone) for each eliminated contestants every week.

My complaint: people watching such shows are dance enthusiasts although our knowledge is not vast, it would be helpful if the dance styles are identified. since it is not Nach baliye or zara nachke dikha, which involves celebrities
gracing us poor viewers with their moves, but rather a competiton with professional and or trained dancers, thats the least they can do. Even celebrity dance shows like jhalak shows the dance form used, it becomes easier to judge the dance
and the dancers if the form in known. seems, the makers almost willingly wants to keep the viewers in a bit of dark,so that we accept everything and anything the judges say.

My second complaint: it is known some of the chorepgraphers and we can catch glimpses of rahul shetty and harshal vithal ,karishma(of dpl fame) deepak and javed at times, but it would be nice if they decide to dedicate one background epi for the choreographers,
and show how exactly are they training, like for example, one choreo per contestant or they r rotated, coz some good dancers might loose out coz of not so good chorepgraphers with not so good ideas.

After watching the episodes until today, i have come to the conclusion that this guy Ankan is the best. Rajit is also good but he has only one style of dance.

Although it is a bit early, but he is the only guy who has tried as many dance forms as possible, and out of comfort zone, like for example chhau. Another one is karan pangali, who had only two performances so far and one he did classical, other hip hop, but he is also stuck in his comfort zone, ie attempting only those which he is secure and trained. So far ankan is the only one who has dared to push the boundary.

i dont think the level of dance is up to standards..
its either the choreography or the contestants...
they make so many blunders its annoying...i have learnt dance too...and making mistakes like bad posture etc at this stage of the dance are not excused!
im disappointed..
Nach Baliye ,DID were amazing shows...
in fact the prelimary rounds had better dance!

i agree, thats why i commented on some other topic, i think they have good raw material, the dancers are talented enough, at paar with DID or DPL, since its almost the same people who are here, but the polishing is not upto the mark, they not being trained or forced to push their boundaries. and the judges are not really making a good job, they started their blunders when they started selecting the top 21 and then top 13, and now they are quite relaxed, it feels like they are just sitting there, narrating from scripts and thats it. A trained dancer choreographer, who knows a lot of styles , for example terrence lewis, marzi pestonzi ,even rajeev surti(apost DID doubles) would have better suited the purpose, than 2 choreographers who understands mostly bollywood .

Nice analysis... you have literally stolen words from MY mouth...
I really cant connect with soumita as well...i never get any feeling out of
her expressions and m never really surprised with her dance
Rajit I felt was the best out and the part where Irfan tells abt his life
was really really really heart touching.
As for the bottom 3...ankan was the STAR... honestly the way he was moving was amazing...
Kruti I felt could've done more wit the ladder n could've complicated the
choreography a bit...also Hitesh was ok as well...
I agree wit ur point on the dance styles...they should brief us with what
they are and how they are normally performed. I watched many dance
shows so I knw a lot also I dance as well...however for others it might
be hard to recognize what is what n where things come from

I agree with the Shoumita thing as I don't think her expressions are that great when dancing as I feel she goes over the top with the facial expressions which make it quite cheesy at times,I also cannot emotionally connect with her either as a little sublety sometimes can go along way in emoting and that's what she needs to do.

Agree that Ankan was great in the bottom 3
Kruti was good but she needs more punch and zest in her dance
Hitesh was the weakest link out of the three

Out of the bottom 3 Rajit was no doubt the best
Irfan was the weakest out of the three

Rajit and Ankan are great dancers and have tried different dance forms but I would like to see them do Kathak(classical)

I also don't think Karan Pangali has just stuck to his comfort zone as he hasn't performed as many times as the others and given time he will do well in other dance forms as he is a fabulous dancer and very versatile too, some people just need to stop writing him off as it is too early in the competition to make such judgements as the main competition has only just started and that goes for all the contestantants..

Next week hope to see better choreography and dancing with dance forms stated and also I would like to see less emotional sob stories and just dance as this programmes called just dance ...that what it needs to be about now just pure dance to the core...

no one is writing karan pangali off, I am saying he is stuck in his comfort zone like most of the others. It is too early to pass judgements on anyone, still we are giving our accessments based on performances so far, if things change later for better or worse , our opinions will also change accordingly. I guess, you should respect other people's opinion about your favorite instead of jumping to defend him, I dont see you talk about other performances like karan khanna, or rajit dev, swarali, who although have given impressive performances are still stuck in their comfort zone. Why single out pangali?
