what does Kruti's hindi have to do with dance, she dances and she dances all the indian styles, and has more culture in her than indians in India.. and thats what counts. When everyone in INdia is crazy about hip-hop and locking and popping, there are more girls and guys in USA, UK and Canada that are crazy about Kathak, and Indian Forms of dancing.

Being Insulin dependent diabetic means, she survives with insulin, in dance you need to hydrate yourself with sugar water, which she can't take for obvious reasons,. atleast she doesn't have a sob story of ailing mother, or family member, or ran away from home things like other reality shows.

yes, eaxtly and the fact she never used this as a sob story is what makes me applaud for her.
Having said that, this reality show also has its own share of ailing or dead family member and running away from home stories and they also milk it to the max

the grass is always green on the other side, dont blame the indians in India, may be thats the reason Indians abroad do so much Indian forms of dancing. Also the judges get more impressed if people do contemporary, street and hip hop more than indian. how many Indian dancers in top 21 of JD , which were selected by judges have an indian folk or classical background? i can only think of soumita.

i think ur misunderstanding me...all i am saying is that ppl in india are more keen to learn western forms while the ones who live abroad are more keen to learn classical...and its true...and the part i said i agree with was that speaking hindi doesnt have anything to do with dance...and to ur ? on how many indian dancers have classical background...well other than soumita ..there is karan pangali who is from london and is a student of birju mahraj...and even kruti had mentioned in one of the episodes that she does have some classical background...though its a diff. story she didnt do well in yest. epi..maybe she learned other form of classical dance.

even i agree on the speaking hindi part, speaking a language has nothing to do with dance.

and as for ur saying people in india are more keen to learn western and people abroad classical, well thats why i said the grass is greener. There is too much indian going on in India and so people here try western stuff to try and be different. so I dont think i misuderstood u.

as for classical part, i did write Indian and highlight it, karan pangali and kruti are of Indian origin, but they are not Indian, one is british, other is american. That is why i wrote Indian in bold and underlined it.
And so i was clear, judges are more impressed when a desi does a western gig and a pardeshi(not talking about heart, mind ,soul, just the fact they are citizens of other countries) does Indian. So blame it on judges for stereotyping.

I feel that the judges now days are not giving importance to their own
culture and folk dances...take Hitesh for an example...I loved his dancing
its a folk dance and he did it nicely...yes, it was simple but it depends on
what kind of a dance it is...some dances just arent as complicated.
Also before he stuck to folk dancing and no one has appreciated his talent
for doing something apart from the western things.
While pple in the US,UK, Canada really like classical, I know I do and when I dance indian classical my audience likes it...they like to see some
thing other than the normal latin n hip-hop here...
