I had been expecting them to show the auditions, since most reality shows tend to do that these days. But I wasn't expecting them to take almost a whole weekend to show just one city. They have like another 10 cities to show - at this rate it'll take them over 2 months!
And I wished there'd been more dance to the show. There was an awful lot of "And here's another one of Hrithik's special messages." Don't get me wrong, I do like watching Hrithik. But I'm watching Just Dance for the dance, to quite an extent.
Oh, the fakeness of the start reeeaally irritated me. The flashing lights completely detracted from what they were saying and from the small stints of dance that I would have otherwise enjoyed. And there seemed to be just far too much overacting in that part of the episode. I was just sitting there saying "Okay, when are people going to start dancing?"
Oh gosh, I've just read through this, and I sound like such a negative person! 😕
Right, so to the good things. Some of the acts were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I can't even just pick one that stood out, because there are simply too many fabulous dancers on the show. My expectations for the following acts have grown manifold after these episodes.
Ayushmann's hosting is great, as usual. He's a humourous and fun-loving person, and that sets the mood for the show, since he's currently liasoning between the contestants and judges. It's always a treat to watch him host.
Farah and Vaibhavi's judging has also been very good; I've agreed with most of their decisions (though, admittedly, not all). And it's apparent that they get on very very well - it's good to be able to see their rapport like this.
Overall, I'd say that though I do have my complaints with a couple of things, I certainly enjoyed watching these first few episodes. And I have a feeling that Just Dance is only going to get better!
