The reason he zeroed in on this show, he says, is because the concept is ori inal and innovative: "You'v never seen a show like this in India. It gives talent a chance and that is a motivating dream. Also, the grand prize that comes at the end of most talent hun contests is big money. Just Dance, besides a generous purse, also offers the winm ner a chance to cut a music video with me. This way, a person's talent can be capo tured for posterity."
Hrithik's happy feet have mesmerised audiences, " right from his debut film , Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000). But surprisingly, the man doesn't consider himself a great dancer. "For me, dancing is an expression of some emotion or a celebration of romance and not just about dizzying gmoves. I'm always looking e for a reason why someone would suddenly jump up and start dancing. Dancing without emotion has little appeal for me," he argues, admitting that left alone in t a discotheque, he'd probably just stand quietly, but if dance were an integral part of a film, he'd get into the swing of things.
And what kind of a judge is he? Reportedly, during the auditions he'd watch the videos endlessly and have long discussions with co-judges Farah Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant before eliminating a contestant.
Even then, he was so distraught over the exits that he gave his phone number, email id and a promise to those disqualified that he'd help them out.
The star admits it's hard for him to be stern. 'The acts I see on TV are so incredible. Not everyone will make it to the final rounds but I have a lot of respect for all of them who made it to the show. It's easy for me to be nice to them," says Hrithik.
