She has styled Hrithik Roshan for his ultimate dance reality show Just Dance. Surily has been the costume designer for many stars like Salman Khan, Malaika Arora Khan, and Preity Zinta in Salaam Namaste and, recently, for her TV show as well. She is thrilled to be styling Hrithik's look in Just Dance.
Talking about Hrithik's look on the show, Surily says, "Hrithik is a mega star. He has to look larger than life on the show, as it is his first time on television. Moreover, a superstar like him doing a dance reality show of this level is once in a lifetime. So, I have kept an element of dance in his style, his clothes and his entire look. Like, he wears a bandana wrapped on his wrist. So, when he makes a 'Yo' sign, which is the sign of Just Dance too, it will make a statement. That will be one dramatic element, which will encapsulate the whole look."
Hrithik, too, added his valuable inputs into finalizing his look for the show. Surily adds, "He knows what looks best on him. Keeping with the concept of the show, we worked on what suits him. The whole look is in collaboration with the channel, Hrithik and me, as the channel wanted him to look formal, and he wanted a dance element in his look. Being a dancer, he is always conscious of what kind of shoes he wears, and he also likes wearing comfortable footwear. In the mega auditions, he wore keds with formal trousers. I have given him flowy silhouettes and a comfortable attire, which helps him move and dance without feeling restricted. Such things have been kept in mind."
She continues, "At the same time, as he is a judge, we have a semi-formal look for him. I have given him a suit, but teamed it with an open-collared shirt. He has worn a tie, but knotted it differently, like a scarf knot wrapped around his neck instead of the shirt's collar. It adds a funky and fun touch to the style. Going ahead, his look on the show will be a mix of formal and casual. He has to look a bit serious and sober with his style of clothing. I think he will have solid colours mostly, not too many prints, but he will have tassels and cool footwear to add to the drama and fun."
Talking about his look in the music video, Surily explains, "We went all out in the music video with colour schemes, a variety of looks and drama, as we could experiment there. He wore semi-casuals and regular casuals, and even had a rockstar look with a hat, in various scenes in the video, as he moves from a neighbourhood to a bazaar to a stage, etc."
Watch out for Just Dance, coming soon on STAR Plus.
