Hrithik Roshan, heartthrob of millions, made his movie debut with the film Kaho Naa Pyaar hai and garnered a lot of praise for his acting and performance! He made a place for himself in the hearts of all his fans.
Personal Life:
Hrithik Roshan was born in the vibrant city of Mumbai. He is the son of actor/producer/director Rakesh Roshan and wife Pinky Roshan. He is also the nephew of music director Rajesh Roshan. Hrithik attended the Bombay Scottish School and later went on to get a bachelors degree in Commerce at Sydenham College. Hrithik is married to Sussanne Roshan, daughter of actor Sanjay Khan and Zarine khan and sister of actor Zayed Khan. The couple have two boys, Hrehaan and Hridhaan.
Early Career:
Hrithik's first movie role was as a child artist when he was six years old in the 1980s movie Aasha, where he appeared in a dance sequence as an extra. He went on to play minor roles in Aap Ke Deewane (1980) and Bhagwan Dada (1986) both of which starred his father Rakesh Roshan in the leading role. He then became an assistant director assisting in the production of his father's films Karan Arjun (1995) and Koyla (1997). Hrithik also helped with the script of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai.
Bollywood:
Starring in his dad's movie, Hrithik made his debut in the movie industry with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai opposite Amisha Patel. He then came in a bunch of movies such as Fiza and Mission Kashmir that didn't do so well, but he earned a lot of praise for his performance. Other movies he acted in are, Na Tum Jaano Na hum, Yaadein and the block buster Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham along with Shah Rukh Khan. He also starred in movies such as Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne Lage, Mujhse Dosti Karoge and Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon. Then once again he starred in papa Roshan's movie Koi Mil Gaya, which became such a huge blockbuster that Rakesh Roshan decided to make a sequel, Krrish. Hrithik also came in the movie Lakshya where he played an Indian army soldier and then in Dhoom 2 where he played a very good looking bad man! Seeing all his amazing performance, director Ashutosh Gowarikar decided to take Hrithik in his movie Jodhaa Akhbar which went on to become one of the biggest hits of 2008. After achieving all these acknowledgements, Hrithik once again did a movie, Kites, directed by his father. The movie didn't do as well as expected. More recently (2010), Hrithik starred in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish, where he plays a quadriplegic. Now he is coming in a movie called Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and the remake of the old Amitabh movie Agneepath.
Achievements:
Hrithik has earned 6 filmfare awards out of which 4 are for the Best Actor category, one for best male debut for Kaho Naa Pyaar hai and one for Best performance in Koi Mil Gaya. Along with the filmfare he has won many awards for IIFA, Star Screen, Zee Cine and many others. In 2004, he was honored with the Rajiv Gandhi Young Achiever Award. Hrithik recently also got the honor of having his life size wax statue put up at London's famous and prestigious Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.
