It's same as potato and sweet potato. But you've to remove the skin first and then boil it. Look at the picture

Are these called Tapioca in India? Tapioca is sabudana! That is why I kept asking when do I add the sabudana! Should I soak it or not!
This looks like yams, sweet potatoes. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Thanks for the clarifications Bond and Kawsi. So basically they are not sabudana cutlets! Gotcha! I see many types of roots here, will see if anything matches this one. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

All right, good night! Tomorrow work day, so have to be in bed now.

Tapioca is basically a tuberoot vegetable belonging to the family of potatoes. More widely used name is cassava.

This is used to make wafers and even tapioca pearls.(looks like sago pearls and used widely in india for fasting purpose: known as tapioca sago or sabudana) Bitter casava is more frequenty used for this purpose.
Arrow root is also made from tapioca.

Sweet potato though belonging to the same family is a completely different vegetable and as the name suggests sweeter in taste( no brainer there ;) its used as a vegetable preparation and sometimes also to make a sweet. ( halwa)
