Farah Khan Appropriate Judge?

Congratulations to Farah Khan for her success as director and choreographer. However I don't think judging a singing competition is her forte'. Her comments to the singers aren't even about singing "I think you over performed.... I think you could have used the stage more...you should have sung this song with a smile." Is this a singing or stage performance competition?

V.S. are doing well as judges by commenting on the singing technicalities. I don't think it's fair to the contestant to be judged by someone who isn't capable of judging them.😕

Anyone feel the same way?

yep i feel the xact same way bout Farah,she def shud not b judgin a singin contest it jus dnt make any sense ....i mean how can she tell the singers ke ur sur went wrong here or there wen she dnt knw herself.... 😕

perhaps Farah was included coz they are looking for holistic performers, rather than just singers.. and she was in II for two seasons, so she wud've gained some amt of knowledge in music too... mayb tats y shez here... i hav no qualms.. VS are there to give the right marks.. and Farah is fairly fair enuf😛

her comments were good on the first day and I was so surprised I opened a topic about it too, but on the second day she was back to her normal self. 😕 that's what i couldn't stand about her in II. but oh well, she's not as bad as saroj khan so i can still tolerate her.

i think she is fairly good - some comments were out of place - like when she told ishmit that he shud have sung the song with open eyes... 😕 😆 As said, maybe they are looking for a performer+singer - "superstar" so to say...

the participants on this show are already mini-celebs ... so its kind of known that they are good at singing ... ofcourse we still hv amit tandon and ravinder ravi 😛 ... but ... anyways so what comes next is performance cos thats what they've been doing all along after their singing shows ended ... and farah is here to judge that ... and she is not bad at all ... after all in a stage performance in front of lakhs of ppl u r not really expected to sing with ur eyes closed 😛 ... so that comment was perfect 😊

well its not inly singing comp..but teh performaces on teh whole also count ......when u r at stage ..u have to look and b presentable too ...though obviously priority is cinging .....so i guess its a perfect blend ....and as sumone said farah had been a judge in a singing comp b4 ...so she must have gained tht much knowlegde ...or technicalities ke liye VS toh hai hi

When the singing is perfect secondary factor becomes the performance, but when the singing is far from acceptable (which was the case for majority of the challengers) then IMO singing should be the only focus of their judgements. In the early stages of the competition, she shouldn't be placing too much emphasis on the performance but rather on their actual singing. Because then the stage performances may start distracting viewers from the contestants' actual singing abilities. Their singing is surely to improve as the competition goes on, so then judging the contestants based on performances as well as their singing might be more appropriate. But for now, the focus should be on the singing.

Well, Farah Khan is exactly doing what she was supposed to do. As for judging the singing part, we have mahaguru Vishal & Shekhar. In my opinion, Farah Khan has a very good ear for music backed by sufficient knowledge. Almost all the challengers as well as the champions have very good stage presence and her comments can only help them becoming still better performers.
