Not trying to defend Gunjan but she is just a child. Versatility is something that can come easily to adults bcoz they can try a lot of dance forms. Their youth and their body gives them a certain grace. Congratulations to Gunjan though! Just my opinion - the competition needs to be among equals of a sort. A child competing with adults is not fair to anybody. Including the child.
Versatility doesn't only come easily to adults - most of those kids on DID Little Masters were pushed to try multiple styles and they did. Gunjan's very good in her dominant style, but one of the reasons I've always enjoyed JDJ in the past is because they've introduced both their contestants and their audience to new dance styles. Gunjan is a professional dancer and the majority of her competition consists of amateurs, I don't think it's fair to expect everyone else to try different styles and then be lenient towards her because she's a child. The judges have been critical of other child performers in the past. I'm pretty sure Sonali and Sumanth (the salsa duo) were around the same age as Gunjan and while all their acts were very impressive, they were very repetitive. Towards the middle of the season, the judges brought this up and then they tried doing some different styles as well, so I don't know why no one's said a word about Gunjan. (And it's not her fault at all, this is on her choreographer.)
