Actor Ravi Dubey shares a special bond with Lucknow. "Not many know but I've been to Lucknow several times. The first property that my dad bought, some thirty years ago, is in Lucknow in Vaibhav Khand, Gomti Nagar.
The connection with the city was established as my father's very good friend, Hasan uncle, is from Lucknow. So, my dad and I used to come here often to meet him.I used to roam around in Hazratganj and old Lucknow till late at night and eat non-veg food. Aaj bhi aate hi maine Tundey Kebabs khaye hain," says Ravi, who was recently here to promote his show Jamai Raja.
RAVI IS HERE TO STAY
Although Nia Sharma, his wife in the show has quit post the leap objecting to playing an older character, Ravi says he is here to stay in the show. "I like to finish what I have started. The strongest recall value for the show was and still is me. I don't want to send out a wrong message to my fans by leaving it mid-way. Also, I am happy with my track," he says.
ALL'S WELL
Ravi and Nia's on-screen chemistry had upped the heat in the show though the two co-actors were known to not be friends in real life. "We are in a creative space, so, the priority is to engage my viewers and make them believe what they are watching is real. Nia and I didn't talk for a very long time. I don't know how this situation came up but one fine day, after three months of shooting together, I saw that she had reservations talking and interacting with me. But finally after working together for more than two years, both of us decided to sit together and sort out our differences. The plan worked out and now we are really good friends," said Ravi.
