Balram ji is the avtaar of Sheshnaag ji. Balram ji was Laxman ji in tretayuga and he was born again from Sheshnaag ji as Balram ji Dwapar. But ultimately Sheshnaag ji is the avtaar of Lord Vishnu. So its all the same :)
Suniti dear...Balram is an Avatar of Vishnu...it is mentioned in Shrimad Bhagwat...who said tht Vishnu never more than one form?...in Gita and Bhagwat..Krishna says tht i reside in each and every living being..so we are part of Vishnu or Krishna..He is like an ocean and we are just drop of tht ocean...''Sarvam Vishnumaya jagad..'' it Vishnu is everywhere and whole world in him..Sheshnaag is an expansion of Vishnu...Remember the Akashwani when Brahma and Shiva went alongwith other Gods..it said tht i will take Avatar in mathura in Vasudev and Devki's house and other Gods and rishis can take birth in gokul, vrindavan...Originally posted by: desichica
thanx for the info bro...but seriously i dont think Balram is avatar of Lord Vishnu...b/c it is said that Lord Vishnu never takes more than one form in his birth...but Anant Dev,aka Shesh Naag, & MahaLaxmi will take forms with him...so Balram is also known as Shesh Naag...if ne1 remembers even in JSK begininning epi's when the Naam Karam happens for the babies....Balram they show the Shesh Naag vision when the gurudev gives the name to him!!!!
Even in BRC's Mahabharat...Balram is shown wearing a Shesh Naag crown....his personality is that of his anger gets the best of him...also seen in Laxman...both who are forms of Shesh Naag!!!
Exactly Balramji is expansion Vishnu himself so he is regarded as Vishnu Avatar..and we have the classic proof of Shrimad Bhagwad...it is mentioned in it that Balram is an avatar of vishnu and also of Anant or shesh...so there is no confusion...thanks Rajnish..😊Originally posted by: Rajnish_Kumar
Balramji was expantion of vishnuji himself so he is regarded as incarnation like naraad muni , ved vyash e.t.c. I remember ones a debate took between me and a member regarding this as he regarded krishn dwapinya as ved vyash and said as he borned in dwapara yug how could he split vedas. people often mistake this.

Yes..thats the reason they consider Balram as Vishnu avatar..like during kalki avatar he will come as Devdutt horse with Kalki bhagwan..😊😊Originally posted by: desichica
I know that Sheshnaag is part of Vishnu, just like Brahma, Mahesh, and Mahalaxmi is part of Vishnu....as we all are...but even when i go to temple on sundays the Maharaj there also once said that Vishnu has himself created in all of us...and when he takes form to destroy the universe HE does not take multiple forms in the same yug!!!! I'm thinking he meant the Significant one!!!!!In Ramayan, Vishnu took form as Ram (the main one), yet Parshuram was there too (but he is immortal till the arrival of Lord Kalki)!!!! His secondary forms was Laxman (from Sheshnaag), and Bharat & Shatrughna (as the Shankh and Chakra)!!!! So that is how I'm interpreting that Balram is not the form of Vishnu but of Sheshnaag...ultimately part of Vishnu!!!!
