I also had heard a story-- that Radha's husband was actually HariBhakt in his previous life and did tapasya. When Bhagwan Vishnu wanted o give him blessing, he asked Bhagwan's wife should be his wife. Since Bhagwan is Bhaktabatsal, he granted him that and Radha became his wife. There is even a story which my aunt told me how Radha's sanctity was protected by Yamunaji, but I dont remember that well.

I too heard the same story. Ayan did Tapsya to get Radhaji as wife. Lord Krishna granted it. (Lord Krishna n Radha was there even before Dwapar Yug in Golok). Ayan took birth as impotent

In those days girls used u get married a very young age (sometimes befor 10). Radha also get maaried at a very young age probably before 10

Can anyone pls explain--- I get a bit confused, is not Radhaji a reincarnation of Mata Laxmi? Then is Rukmini also a reincarnation of Mata Laxmi?
Pls explain

Lord Vishnu n Laxmi has various abodes n rups. Avinash (akhl) once posted a nice article on various rups n abodes of Lord vishnu in Ramayan forum. Pls refer that article to clear confusion. he has explained it in a very nice way

There was true bond of love between Radha and Krishna. Radha and Krishna were not married but there was spiritual reunion of Soul of Radha with that of Krishna. As per one legend, Radha said to Krishna that she can not bear the pain of separation from him any more. Then sould of Radha merges in body of Krishna and both became one.

It is in Bhagavad Gita, "Many are the means described for the attainment of the highest goal... but of all, love is the highest; love and devotion that make one forget everything else; love that unites the devotee with me... as all earthly pleasures fade into nothingness."

According to our worldly traditions and customs, marriages are more related to the physical and social aspects. Radha and Krishna's devotion to each other is about spirituality and is beyond the physical and social considerations. Therefore, their love is not to be seen through our worldly eyes and marital status.

Hinduism says that one can attain oneness with God through devotion, knowledge, state of no attachement and/or combimations of these three. Buddhism and Shaivism are predominantly about vairagya or achieveing the state of no desire and no attachment. Bhakti-marg of Hinduism guides us to reach God through selfless devotion to God and Radha is the ideal or role model for Bhakti-marg devotees. Only a mother's love is considered to be completely selfless and pure; all other attachments and emotions are not. Therefore, bhakti-marg devotees should follow Radha's selfless love towards God and not want God for some desire or purpose.

On the other hand, Krishna left Gokul when he was 11 years and 52 days. His friends (the gopas and gopis and Radha) were of similar age too. Such small children are free of love as we know it or physical aspect of love. Therefore, the raas leelas at midnight and Krishna-Radha relationship can not be about impure with such 'worldly love'.

raas leela is very much a discussed topic of Krishna and Radha..Radha, and all gopis wanted Krishna as their husband and Krishna fulfilled their wishes by taking "krishna avtaars " for them..it's seen as the union of aatma with parmatma...i'm not a scholar who can explain in detail about it..but i love to read various texts abt Krishna..

There's a place in Vrindavan known as "Nidhi van"..There it's believed that Lord Krishna comes there every night..No person can stay alive at night there..It's believed that every night the trees over there become Radha and Krishna and do raas leela..I've been there twice and it's divine!!
