it is still confusing, There are people saying that Lord Vishnu is the creator of all gods n the universe. So the original god is actually Maha Durga who created the other gods n goddess?

Mantras to worship Lord Ganesh: -
There are many mantras to worship Lord Ganesh. The most common are
1. Aum Shri Ganeshaya Namah
2. Aum Gam Ganapataye Namah

The basis of Hinduism is in its scriptures. In ancient days, many sages gained spiritual knowledge by doing meditation. This knowledge is contained in scriptures.

i have one doubt...whenever a person prays to any god do you think it reaches the one Supreme God who exists in every part of creation...although we call him by so many different names.... i am totally confused.

Ultimately all prayers reach the Supreme. But the effect of praying other gods is not the same as that of praying the Supreme. You may ask why the effects are different when all prayers reach the Supreme. This is because when you worship some other god, then the Supreme grants you - through the god you pray to - only what that god has been assigned to provide.

Vedas do not say explicitly who is Supreme. Vedas contain verses to worship various gods - Indra, Vishnu, Rudra, Agni and many others.
Puranas do say who is Supreme. But all Puranas do not consider the same god as Supreme. If we combine them, then Vishnu, Krishn, Ram, Shiv, Durga, Ganesh are Supreme.
Therefore, the best is to continue to worship your Isht Devta (i.e. the One whom you pray) and chant Om as often as you can because Om refers to Supreme.

Have you read Brahm Vaivart Puran? It contains various very good mantras.
Or, if you want, you tell me the god you want to worship and I will tell you some mantras.
