Part 8

Over the next few weeks, not only Veer and Ayesha, but DDD too are extremely busy with work pressures for our couple and an influx of charitable projects for DDD. Veer has not forgotten his resolution to keep an eye on matters at home to make sure Ayesha is not subjected to more humiliations. He diplomatically begins to bring Nandini over to his side, by slipping in comments about how well Ayesha treats not only Nihal but also Bunty and how Ayesha always seems to be so respectful to both Kameeni and to Nandini. πŸ‘πŸΌ As we have seen, Nandini is fairly easy to sway and she has always been uncomfortable about her mum's attitude to Ayesha and is therefore a soft target. She also does not want to upset her brother so she does think about what he says and begins to slip into a fairly relaxed and friendly manner with Ayesha, as she had been before Kameeni descended on them.

Veer finds himself thinking of Ayesha at all sorts of moments in the day, even when he is ridiculously busy and knows that he needs to focus on his work. 😍 Without conscious thought, and of course without acknowledging what he is doing, Veer understands that the only way to see Ayesha in the day will be if he has a work-related excuse to meet Rahul. Now, as you can imagine, this needs a lot of effort and planning by our Robin Hood as he is a competitor of Rahul's, but Veer isn't Nihal's hero without good reason. πŸ˜‰ Veer is aware that there is a nationwide hotel convention for a big national event and there is a bid being put in by chosen hotels within each city to be selected to host the event in their city, and hence their hotels. On this the hotels have to work together, as if the bid is won, all the hotels selected in that city will cash in the benefits of huge amounts of guests and conventions in the week of the event. As Veer's and Rahul's hotels are the top within those selected, Veer suggests that they work together to co-ordinate the bid and the hotel's offering.

With that as his valid excuse, Veer can now begin to turn up to see Rahul whenever he wants. Of-course, something he refuses to believe is that the main motivation for his actions is the fact that he will see Ayesha too!

With his excuse sorted, Veer arrives at Rahul's office and towers over Ayesha's desk, where she is talking to someone on the phone. He cannot help thinking how professional and attractive she looks in her smart work clothes and how charming her manner is on the phone to callers. 😍Ayesha becomes immediately self-consciously when she notices Veer standing there and just staring at her. 😳

A: Veer! Aap Rahul Sir ko milne aye hain?

V: Ermm, haan Ayesha, mujhe convention ka kuch kaam yaad aya to me chala aya.

A: Oh, lekin Rahul Sir to client ke saath meeting main hain, aur une thoda time lagega. Kya main unko jaa kar batadoon ke aap yahan hain?

V: Nahi Ayesha, maine usko time nahi diya tha aur who meeting main hain to use disturb mat karo. Vaise, main yahan thodi der wait kar leta hoon kyun, koi problem nahi.

Ayesha is a bit flustered at this but immediately offers:

A: To kya aap conference room main wait karna chayenge? Jaise hi Sir nikle ge main unhe bhej doongi.

The last thing Veer wants to do is sit in an empty conference room, although there are a number of calls he could make whilst making. What he says instead is:

V: Nahi Ayesha. Woh, main yahin wait karronga, tum please apna kam karo.

Saying this, he sits down opposite Ayesha's in one of the chairs opposite hers. Ayesha is surprised and also very nervous as it feels very strange for Veer to be at sat opposite her with such an intent expression in his eyes.😳☺️

A: Ermm, main apke liye chai ya coffee mangati hoon- aap kya lenge?

Veer doesn't want either but realises that this will make it easier for him to keep sitting there.

V: Tum kya logi Ayesha?

Ayesha jumps a bit.

A: Main? Wo, mujhe kuch nahi chahiye, main to duty par hoon, lekin aap please kuch lijiye.

V: Hmm, to tum kuch bhi mangado.

Ayesha is confused by Veer's playfulness but that seems to be getting to be a habit!

She has noticed that Veer drinks coffee at home though so she calls through to order him some coffee.

V: Vaise, tum bhi kuch leti to koy problem nahi hota. Main Rahul ko bol doonga kai maine insist kiya.

A: Nahi, aisi koi baat nahi hain. Rahul Sir to bahut ache hain, aur shayad kuch na kahe, lekin agar koi client aaya to boora lage ga.

The only thing in that exchange that makes an impact on Veer is the statement about how nice "Rahul Sir" is and this really displeases him.😑 He falls silent but still keeps staring at Ayesha and she is forced to take a call in the meantime. All the while, she is conscious of Veer's eyes on her. She begins to worry whether he is checking to see if her phone and work manner is up to scratch, whereas he is doing no such thing and is again just lost in thought about her. 😳 The coffee arrives soon after Ayesha finishes her call and she again has to endure Veer staring at her whilst she pours in the milk and the one sugar she has noticed he takes at home. Veer suddenly realises that she has made his coffee without asking whether he has milk or sugar. He takes a sip of his coffee that she hands him.

V: Ayesha, isme to shakkar kam hain? πŸ˜ƒ

A: Huh? Lekin ghar par to aap sirf ek hi shakar lehte hain, aur maine ek hi daali hain?

V: Aha, to ek hi hain? Acha Ayesha, to tum janti haun ke main kitni shakar lehta hoon?

When Ayesha stares at him in shock, he continues:

V: Nahin, woh kya hain naa, ke aaj kal tum breakfast par to bahut kam dikhti ho aur mujhe pata nahi tha ke tumne kabhi notice bhi kiya tha'.

Ayesha is embarrassed but thinking that he has no idea how much about him she notices. 😳

A: Shayad main aur logo se zyada notice kar leti hoon. Kyun kai aap ko nahi pata ke main kitni shakar lehti hoon, iska matab yeh to nahin ke mujhe bhi aapke bare mein nahin pata.

V: Hmmm, yeh to sahi hain. Dekho na, jaise maine notice kiya hain ke tum coffee nahin par chai piti ho, aur usme do shakkar lehti ho, waise shayad aur log notice naa kare.πŸ‘πŸΌ

This time it is Ayesha who has a comical expression of shock on her face! 😲 Before she has recovered from this disclosure, she hears voices and Rahul steps out of his meeting. He bids his clients goodbye and spotting Veer sitting by Ayesha he walks over with a puzzled look.

R: Veer! Tum yahan? Kya hamari meeting thi, aur mein bhool gaya?

V: Nahin Rahul, relax. Maine appointment nahin arrange ki thi aur vaise hi chala aaya. Maine socha wait karlu.

Rahul is puzzled by Veer's behaviour, especially that he would sit waiting for him at Ayesha's desk, but says nothing about it. He asks Rahul to go with him to his room to discuss the convention. However, before heading off, he turns around to Ayesha with a big smile.

R: By the way Ayesha, tumne jo notes banaye the aur meri jo presentation main madad ki thi, uski waje se meri meeting both achi gayi. Thank you Ayesha, mujhe pata nahin tumhare bina main kaise manage karta tha.

Ayesha's face breaks into a pleased smile and she begins to blush at this praise.

Meanwhile, hearing this causes a spontaneous rush of jealousy in Veer. He hates hearing Rahul saying he doesn't know how he managed without Ayesha and watching her smile so prettily in response to him, angers him.😑😑😑

V: Rahul, meeting mein chale? Ayesha se to tum bad main bhi baat karsakte ho.

Rahul and Ayesha are both taken aback at this sudden interruption and at Veer's expression, which is not in the slightest bit inviting. Veer and Rahul walk off leaving poor Ayesha sighing in frustration and not able to understand what happens to Veer from time to time. πŸ˜•πŸ˜•πŸ˜•

Part 9

Whilst Ayesha loves her new job and the responsibilities Rahul places upon her, she genuinely misses her old friends, particularly Pammi, Shridhar, Rajdeep, Mrs Dixit and Mr Chowksi. Naturally, whilst nothing is more pleasant than not having to see Minnie's face every day and hearing her waspish voice, Ayesha misses the little moments and all the fun she had with her friends at Ramada, despite the pressures that terrorised her days then. She goes to see Pammi one day during her lunch break and Pammi is delighted to see Ayesha, saying that she had been talking to Shridhar about Ayesha just recently. Rajdeep joins their conversation and then suggests that since Ayesha misses them all and they all miss Ayesha and Nihal, they could all go for a picnic in a few days time. This idea is very well received and Ayesha is very excited to hear this. Veer happens to walk past when all this is being arranged and is determined to ensure he joins in the picnic, but does not let on that he has overheard them. πŸ‘πŸΌ

Ayesha tells Kameeni that she is going to take Nihal to see her friends for a picnic, at which point of-course Kameeni cannot resist making digs at Ayesha about her friends and their status. 😑😑😑 Unfortunately for her Veer has been watchful and overhears her. He steps in and politely tells his mum that he thinks that Nihal should be allowed to go, as a lot of those people were very helpful to Nihal and Ayesha when they needed it. This makes Kameeni furious but she is reluctant to openly show her true colours to Veer, so settles for her usual trump card.

K: Haan haan Veer, theek hain. Ayesha jaa sakti hain, lekin hum me se koi nahin jaa sakega. Woh kya hai ke mujhe us din kaam hai, aur Nandini aur Avinash ko mere saath chalna hoga, aur mein tumhe bhi saath jaane ke liye kehne waali thi.😑😑😑

Veer does some quick thinking and says,

V: Lekin Mom, mujhe to us din kaam se zara bahar jaana hai. Jis clients se milna hai who usi din mil sakenge.

Hearing this, D3 is relieved as of course her only aim was to make sure that Veer did not spend any time alone with Nihal and Ayesha. She readily agrees that that is ok and in that case, Ayesha can take Nihal and go.

Now, as you may have guessed, our Robin Hood has no such meeting but wants to ensure that his mum doesn't involve him in her plans and therefore keep him away from the picnic.πŸ‘βοΈ

On the day of the picnic, Ayesha and Nihal are there bright and early and soon they are having a whale of a time with Pammi, Shridhar, Rajdeep, Mrs Dixit and Mr Chowksi. Before they have been there long, a familiar tall and handsome certain someone joins them, much to everyone's surprise and amazement. Nihal is openly delighted and runs to embrace his Chachu. Nihaal's maasi is also thrilled at this unexpected turn. πŸ˜ƒ

A: Sir aap? (She automatically calls him Sir in the presence of the others, as it is what she has always been used to). Aap ko to meeting mein jaana tha naa?

V gives her a wink and with a sweet smile answers: Meeting khatam ho gayi Ayesha, aur maine socha ke me bhi picnic manaloo.πŸ˜‰

This makes for a brilliant beginning to their picnic. Nihal is the centre of attention and unknown to her, Nihaal's maasi is the centre of attention for her personal Robin Hood. πŸ₯³

Shortly after Veer's arrival, when the picnic is in full swing with various games being played and a lot of conversation going on within the group, and just when Veer is totally relaxed and sprawled out on the grass near Nihal and Ayesha, someone else joins their happy party. They all see Rahul walking towards their group and whilst the others are surprised, both Ayesha and Veer are totally flummoxed. πŸ˜•

R: Hello everyone! Yahan to bohot zoron ka picnic chal raha hain. I hope you don't mind par, Ayesha- jabh tumne bataya ke tum yahan picnic me anewaali thi Nihal aur tumhare dosto ke saath, aur me aaj itna bore horaha tha, ke maine socha main bhi chalu. Aur, waise bhi mujhe Nihal se to milna hi tha. Nihal- aapko pata hai, aapki maasi kaam par sara din apki batein karti hain!

Veer has recovered from his surprise to find that he does not like this new arrival at all. Whilst Rahul is his friend and he genuinely enjoys his company on most occasions, he is immediately suspicious of Rahul arriving here and is convinced that this is a desire to see Ayesha and nothing else.

V (thinking to himself): Is Rahul ke bache ko to… Yahan aane ki kya zarorat thi- sara din to Ayesha uske samne rehti hain.😑😑😑

Rahul has noticed that Veer doesn't seem to be too pleased to see him.

R: Veer, kaise ho? Mujhe nahi pata tha tum bhi ane wale the. Bahut maza ayega na? Bachpan mein hum kitne picnic karte the, yaad hain?

Rahul, being blessed with a sunny personality soon charms everyone (except Veer!) and joins in with their picnic fun. Veer is still annoyed and ensures that in any games they play, he manoeuvres it such that Ayesha ends up next to him and Nihal, and not Rahul. πŸ‘

Despite his frustration with Rahul being there, Veer enjoys the time with Nihal and particularly, Ayesha, tremendously. During a game of catch, Ayesha accidentally runs smack into him and despite the noise and confusion around them from the group, they are lost in each others eyes for a long moment. 😍

They all enjoy a picnic lunch and then Nihal insists that he wants to walk to the edge of the pond in the park to feed some crumbs to the ducks in the water. Veer offers to take him and the rest watch from their spots. Nihal gets so excited with the ducks and with trying to throw the food in the water, he suddenly loses his footing and tumbles in headlong into the water! He screams and as soon as she notices, Ayesha lets out a terrified shriek and is on her feet in a second. 😲 The others also jump up but Veer has meanwhile also thrown himself in the pond to pull Nihal out. The pool is not that deep, but Nihal is in shock and the water is icy so both Nihal and Veer are gasping when Veer pulls him out.

Ayesha reaches them and is sobbing with fear and worry. Veer lays Nihal on the ground and as soon as he catches his breath, it is obvious that Nihal is fine; only shaken up and cold. Nihal hugs Veer, crying, but by then Ayesha is also beside herself and flings herself at them both. Veer is stunned but not about to let the opportunity pass, so he clutches Nihal with one arm and Ayesha with the other. He has the sudden realisation that the two people he is holding are so incredibly precious to him, he cannot bear the thought of anything happening to either of them. πŸ€—πŸ€—They make a touching scene and the rest of their group, who have now come over and are standing near them feel their hearts lifted at seeing the obvious love between the three. Rahul is looking at them very thoughtfully, especially at Veer's tender expression.

Once everyone is reassured that Nihal is fine, it is clear that Veer and Nihal must get home as they are soaking and Nihal is already shivering. Besides this, Ayesha is also fairly wet from hugging Veer and Nihal and then clutching Nihal to her very tightly.

R: Veer, main tum sabh ko ghar chod deta hoon.

V: Nahi Rahul, thanks, magar meri car to yahan hi hain, aur mein Nihal aur Ayesha ko lekar abhi nikalta hoon. Sorry sabh ka picnic istara se khatam huwa lekin Nihal ko jaldi change karna padega.

Veer wants to get Nihal and Ayesha home as soon as possible and does not want anyone else present with them for a while.

Saying very rushed goodbyes, Veer takes Nihal and Ayesha home, feeling soaked and cold but relieved that Nihal is fine and surprisingly happy in his heart.
