Part 14(c)

Nihal was very excited about the upcoming Valentine's Day as both his Maasi and Chachu had agreed to buy into the spirit of the day and he felt that when everyone at school spoke about what their parents and themselves were going to do, he didn't have to feel left out. Besides, his Maasi had helped him prepare his card and presents for his Chaachu, although his Chaachu had been very secretive and had not taken any help from him, but had simply explained that he was planning a surprise for him and Maasi.πŸ˜›

Veer had decided that the day was going to be celebrated on Friday, after Nihal got back from school as both he and Ayesha had to attend the Valentine's Ball on Saturday and as Monday would be a school day, they could not stay out too late on Sunday. Bunty had been so upset that his Dad was in Delhi that his mum had allowed him to take a day off from school on Friday so she could take him to visit his Dad in Delhi. Nandini knew that her mum would not be happy with leaving Ayesha alone in the house with Veer and Nihal but as Bunty was so uspet, she decided she would take him anyway and deal with her mum somehow.

When Veer came back from the office on Friday, looking forward to delivering his surprise to Nihal and Ayesha, he found them both already waiting for him, looking very excited about something. Nihal was almost hopping up and down and Ayesha's excitement too was barely supressed. Veer also didn't fail to notice that Ayesha looked very pretty, dressed up in a green outfit and with a beaming smile aimed at him.😍 Nihal grabbed him and insisted that he was going to show him his surprise Valentine present from him and Maasi. Taking his Maasi and Chachu by a hand each, he started leading them to Veer's room. Veer shot Ayesha a puzzled look but she only smiled back mysteriously.😊

When Nihal opened Veer's room, and led him inside, with Ayesha at his side, Veer saw that a table had been placed in the middle of the room and there was an array of things laid out on it.

V: Arrey! Wow- yeh sabh kya hain?

N: Chachu, yeh sabh apki presents hain jo maine aur maasi ne yahan set ki he. Chaliye na- dekhiye apni presents.

Veer wanders over to the table, which has been laid out very prettily with a red cloth on it and confetti sprinkled over it. There is gajjar ka halwa, set up to resemble a cake, with a small candle stuck on it. There is a big card on the table and a photo album lying on it, as well as a small book. However, the things that first captures his attention is two frames on the table, one on either side with the card in between. Both the frames are very prettily decorated and one contains a lovely photo of Jai and Divya. This is what Veer first picks up, his eyes automatically filling with tears.

Ayesha looks slightly worried, as if she is uncertain of Veer's reaction to Divya being in the picture too.

V: Nihal- yeh sabse acha present hain aur isko mein apne room me hi rakhunga. Tumhare Daddy ki photo sach me Mummy ke bina adhuri hain, aur itne pyaare bhayiya-bhabhi ki photo mujhe kaise achi nahin lage gi, huh?πŸ‘πŸΌ

He looks over at Ayesha at this and is rewarded by a big smile on her face but also almost simultaneously, a slight tear, clearly missing Jai and Divya, but still very relieved that Veer is finally giving her beloved sister her deserved acknowledgement. Nihal is happy with this reaction but still hopping about, wanting his Chachu to see the rest of his presents. Veer next turns his attention to the other photo on the table, which is one of him, Ayesha and Nihal from the X-mas party. He slowly picks this up, thinking how right they all look together πŸ‘. He is silent thinking about this and Ayesha, misunderstanding the reason for his keen stare at the photo rushes to explain:

A: Woh, ummm Veer, me aapki aur Nihal ki photo lagana chahti thi lekin Nihal ne zid ki ke ham sabh ki hi photo present kare...

V: Of-course, Nihal ne zid ki Ayesha! Woh apne Chachu jitna hi samajdar jon hai! Woh jaanta hai ke jo saath mein itne ache dikhte hain, unki hi to photo honi chahiye hai.πŸ‘πŸΌ

This is said with a mischevious smile and a wink in Nihal's direction. πŸ˜‰ Ayesha of course can't help going red ☺️. Veer then picks up the photo album, which has been filled with various recent pictures (from the picnic, school play), a lot of him with Nihal but some of them three and also others with the others in his family.

V: Wow- itne ache gifts- tum dono ne to kamal kardiya!

N: Lekin Chachu, abhi ek aur gift baaki he- iss book mein.

Veer, again with a puzzled look in Ayesha's direction, picks up the book, which is more like a small black diary. He opens it to find that the first page is titled,

"Chachu's pledge book: From Nihal and Ayesha".

Even more puzzled, Veer turns the page over to find a small card stuck on the page of the book. It has written on it,

"Chachu, mein aapke sath next Saturday ko park mein football khelne chalunga- Nihal"😎

The next page has another card,

"Aap roz complain karte hain ke apke shirts theek se iron nahin hote. Mein saara mahina apke shirts iron kardungi- Ayesha".⭐️

Wonderingly, Veer turns over the rest of the pages and they all contain different pledges from both Nihal and Ayesha. All of these are sweet gestures. In Nihal's case, they included promises to play with his Chachu, do his homework when his Chachu was making him study, to play video games with him and other such sweet pledges, which really touched Veer. In Ayesha's case, in addition to the ironing pledge, there was a promise to make him his favourite dish one day, to make him and Nihal popcorn and treats when they were playing games or watching movies, and to also help him with part of his own presentation for the convention he was working on with Rahul. Veer looked across at Ayesha after reading these with an intent expression, thinking how good reading those little promises from Ayesha made him feel and how they implied a daily routine and life with her and Nihal that he was coming to rely upon more and more each day.πŸ˜ƒ

V: Aap dono mein mujhe meri life ka sabse acha Valentine present diya hai. Thank you boloonga to tum dono mujhe dato ge lekin....yeh sab...itna acha hai, ke mujhe pata nahin me kya kahun.

At this, his eyes lock with Ayesha as he realises the effort she will have had put in with Nihal, in between work and her commitments to Nihal to prepare this. Nihal looks from one to another and feels very happy with his two favourite people's harmony with each other.😍😍 They all share the gajjar ka halwa and then Veer starts to usher them out of the house, for his surprise. They both keep asking him where they are going but Veer refuses to spoil the surprise.

Soon theyt draw up outside a cinema.

N: Aha, Chachu- to hum film dekhne aaye hain? Yehi apka surprise hain na?

V: Hmm, haan, lekin tumhe undar chal ke dekhna hoga.

Veer steps in and leaving them waiting in one corner, makes a phone call. Within five minutes, a smiling lady dressed in cinema staff uniform comes across to them and greets them and asks them to follow her. By now, Ayesha and Nihal are looking a bit confused.πŸ˜• They assumed they were going to watch one of the films showing and had tried to guess which one it would be. However, it was a bit odd to be escorted to the theatre! They were taken by the lady, cutting through various queues outside different screens until they came to one particular screening room, where there were no queues. Ayesha was wondering if they were late for the showing when they were made to step inside.

All the lights in the room were on and at a galnce, Ayesha could tell there was no one else in the screening room. On one corner, there was a huge table with popcorn, drinks and all sorts of cinema goodies laid out. Also, on it, were two cards, one with Nihal's name and one with Ayesha's. Ayesha and Nihal were confused to see the table and to find no-one else in the room but still did not understand. They stepped inside with a bemused expression and stood by the table.πŸ˜•πŸ˜•πŸ˜•

V: Yeh hain aap dono ka surprise!

N: Haan Chachu- hamara surprise saath mein film dekhna hain lekin baki se sabh log kahan hain?

😎 (laughing): Nihal beta- apka aur apki Maasi ka surprise yeh hain, ke maine yeh wala theatre room sirf hum teeno ke liye book kiya hain! Hum yeh film akele dekhe ge; aur kohi log nahin honge!

Nihal and Ayesha looked stunned as they would never have imagined that someone would book out an entire showing for them.😲

V: Haan, aur film konsi hain, pata hai?

Nihal recovers first and tries to name the films that he saw advertised outside. At each name, Veer shakes his head, still laughing.

V: Sabh galat hain Nihal. Aur tumhari Maasi to kuch guess bhi nahin kar rahi hain, isiliye mujhe hi batana pade ga. Hum Kuch Kuch Hota Hain dekhne waale hain, kyun ke apne oos din bataya tha na ke woh aapki aur Maasi ki favourite film hain?! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜Ž

At this, both Nihal and Ayesha look delighted. Ayesha is perplexed and amazed that not only has Veer booked the whole theatre room for them but he has also arranged for a one-off special showing for a film that is not even showing! Veer is thrilled at both their delighted expressions. The delight continues as both open their cards, which in Nihal's case says I Love You and in Ayesha's, only Happy Valentine at the front. However, in the message inside, Veer has written:

"Ayesha, mooje tumshe roj thank you kene ki permission nahin hain. Lekin aaj ees card mein me thank you zaroor likhna chahunga kyunke tum sabh ko hamesha khush rakhne ki koshish karti ho aur hamara sabh ka bahut khayal rakhti ho. Mein jaanta hoon ke tumhare bina Nihal ek din bhi nahin rehsakta aur jabh se tum hamare saath rehne ayi ho, tabh se mujhe bhi Nihal ka pyaar poore dil se milne laga hain aur yeh sab tumhari hi vajay se huva hain. I hope ke tumhe yeh chota sa surprise acha lage...... Veer".

πŸ₯³πŸ₯³
Ayesha looks across at him with a lovely smile and with her eyes saying thanks far more effectively than words. 😍

At that moment, the lady comes back into the screening room to ask whether they would like the film to start. They settle down with various treats and begin to watch the film. I am sure everyone who is a member of this Forum will have seen Kuch Kuch Hota Hain (KKHH) and will recall that the film was a feast of emotions and love. πŸ˜ƒ

Of-course, the moments where little Anjali pines for her mother, who has passed away, were particularly emotional for Nihal 😭 and his Maasi and Chachu and both gave him a hug together at those points in the film, with their hands touching inadvertently. Veer found himself unable to actually focus throughout the movie, despite being gripped in the emotions being portrayed so convincingly on screen. Instead, he found himself looking across frequently at Ayesha and at the range of emotions mirrored so beautifully on her face whilst watching her favourite film.😍 At the emotional scene where Anjali (Kajol) is leaving town due to her unreturned feelings from Rahul (SRK), a tear began to glisten on Ayesha's lids and without thinking, Veer leant over Nihal and gently brushed it off. Ayesha was jerked out of her intense concentration from the film and found herself unable to look away from Veer for long moments, even though she was missing important minutes from the film.😳😍☺️ Nihal kept looking between them and when little Anjali woved to bring her Dad (SRK) and Kajol together, Nihal suddently had an interesting thought, which he mulled over for the rest of the film. πŸ‘πŸΌ

A sterling moment was whilst watching the scene from the film where SRK, Kajol and little Anjali are playing dumb charades with others in the camp they are all at. SRK is unable to effectively mime a film (which has just been given to him by his match making mother and daughter) called "I Love You" to Anjali. A little boy instead shows him in three very clear movements what he had to do. When they lose the game, Kajol turns to him and tells him that if he had just been able to do that, they would have won.πŸ˜‰ The irony of this was so well portrayed and in the screening room, Veer suddenly gets an odd realisation watching that scene. He looks at Ayesha again and can actually feel SRK's frustration as portrayed in the film and this raises a thousand questions in his mind. 😲There is also a scene in the film where SRK and Kajol are dancing in the rain and SRK is about to confess his feelings and then Kajol's fiance in the film (Salman Khan) arrives and his feelings again remain unsaid. At this point, again Veers feels an unpleasant fear that Ayesha could leave with someone and he will be left helplessly watching. He doesn't know why this thought should bother him so much but it does and he forces himself to accept the reality of that.πŸ˜•

The film eventually ended and all three were reluctant for it to come to a close. When the credits rolled and the lights came on again, Veer felt as though he was rising from a dream. Ayesha, too, looked dazed. They both exchange a long look before leaving the cinema, with a very excited, chattering Nihal who has had much food for thought from the film.😍πŸ₯³

Part 14(d)

The day of the Valentine's Day Ball at Rahul's hotel found Veer still in a state of agitation. After his evening with Ayesha and Nihal to celebrate Valentine's with Nihal, he kept incessantly thinking about Ayesha and of the past months, where his feelings for her seemed to have come a total full circle. He realised that even when he thought he hated her, at Ramada when he realised she was his staff and later during Nihal's custody battle, his reactions were more a cover up for the undeniable attraction she held for him. Since then, he had spent so much time in her company and come to know her so well, often observing her selfless nature and loving acts to everyone, and he could not deny that he thought the world of her.😍😍

Ayesha was similarly in an internal struggle to try and divert her mind from thoughts of Veer, which kept creeping in whilst she completed the various tasks she needed to accomplish before the Ball. She kept thinking of the little things Veer constantly did for her and Nihal and wondered how she had ever thought him arrogant and cold. He was so loving and kind and not just attractive to look at but also an attractive personality....At this point, she pulled herself up short and remembered the various harsh words his mum had aimed in her direction over the past few months. She reminded herself that there were too many differences between them and told herself to stop thinking about him.😍😍

Both of them similarly spent the day agonising over each other. Veer tried to arrange it so that he could give Ayesha a lift but she had to be at the hotel beforehand to check some arrangements. Veer, who would usually ensure he arrived at such events as late as possible, was there very soon after the stated opening time. However, when he entered the function room for the event, he spotted Rahul straightaway but could not catch sight of Ayesha.

His eyes scanned the room intently looking for Ayesha but within moments, he knew that she was not there. He walked over to Rahul and greeted him, almost immediately asking where Ayesha was. Rahul was just explaining that she had gone to check on some arrangements but just as he was speaking, he looked over Veer's shoulder and smiled, saying:

R

:Yeh lo- aagayi Ayesha.

Veer turned around quickly, just as Ayesha walked in to the function room at the other end of the room from him. His breath caught in his throat at the sight of her and his heart lurched. She looked so beautiful that even in his mind, words failed him. πŸ‘β€οΈ

The saree, soflty draped across her dainty frame, glittered and sparkled with every movement she made. The white was like a beacon in the room, with its red, crystal-encrusted border like a flame-filled ring around it. Simple, yet beautiful, jewellery sparkled on her neck, ears and wrists. She looked fragile and ethereal; her beautiful, soulful eyes dominated her face and she had a slightly anxious, hesitant look in her eyes. A lot of eyes turned towards her and the buzz of voices around him continued, but Veer felt as though someone had cast a spell over him.😍 Across the crowded room, Ayesha's eyes met his as it felt as though he was boring a hole through her with the burning intensity of his gaze. She tried to smile but could not quite manage it and then, almost as if in a trance herself, started moving in his direction. ❀️😍

As she slowly took the steps towards him, Veer had the crashing realisation that the reason behind all his recent agitation, jealousies and emotional yo-yo-ing, was only one- he loved Ayesha!❀️ Yes, he couldn't deny it anymore. Ayesha had gradually crept into his heart and she was now enshrined there. This realisation and the strength of his feelings was almost like a physical blow, under which he reeled. He felt a flash of memories assail him: Ayesha in the rain, playing with Nihal, glaring at him in mock anger, crying for him nd Nihal at the picnic, bandaging his arm and then finally in the present- Ayesha coming towards him now, looking more radiant than he had ever seen her. With this realisation, oddly, Veer also felt a strange exultation and happiness; he felt as if his heart would burst for the love and tenderness he felt towards her and he felt as if he must say something to her, to share this wonderful realisation. ❀️ ❀️ ❀️

By now, Ayesha had almost reached him but before he could close off the gap between them, he saw a figure come forward and get to her first, and hug her! Of-course, it was Rahul! As the familiar rush of anger came over him 😑, Veer determined that he was not going to let Rahul claim Ayesha today and he was going to..... He was interrupted in this chain of thought by someone flinging themselves at him! He started in shock 😲 and heard a voice squealing in excitement:

Veer!!! Veer! Kaise ho tum? Its amazing to see you- Veer!

V

:Oh my God- Sanjana! Tum yahan?! Tum India kabh loti? Aur phone bhi nahin kiya.

Ayesha was in shock at seeing this woman fling herself at Veer 😲. She had been transfixed by the look in Veer's eyes and had felt that she was slowly being pulled towards him. Before she got to him, Rahul came over and hugged her, complimenting her lavishly on the decor and how much work she had put in, and in his usual sweet manner, saying thank you. She had seen Veer freeze when he saw Rahul reach her and his face turn angry but then this very lovely woman was hugging him! 😲 Ayesha felt an unaccustomed wave of jealousy come over her and pulled herself up short at this 😑, trying to focus on what Rahul was saying. However, Rahul too had heard the woman Veer called Sanjana and had turned to look at them. His expression was very odd, and very unlike the Rahul she knew. He looked stunned and then angry almost immediately after 😲😑. Sanjana was meanwhile saying to Veer:

S

:Haan baba- sorry phone nahin kiya. Lekin mein kal hi aayi aur mujhe aaj ke function me bare me pata chala to socha ke sabh ko yahin hi milungi. Vaise- Rahul...?

At that point, Rahul had gently steered Ayesha over to Veer and Sanjana.

R

:Hi Sanju- main yahan hi hoon; tumhe nazar nahin aaya.

Sanjana jumped a little, saw Rahul and then looked extremely flustered.

S

:Errm, aah- Rahul! Kaise ho?

R

:Main theek hoon Sanju- tum kaisi ho? Main to nahin pooncho ga ke phone kyun nahin kiya!

S

(looking slightly defensive now): Hah, hum to kabhi phone par baat kahan karte hain Rahul?! Chodo- hmm, party to bahut achi lag rahi hain.

R

:Thanks, lekin yeh sabh intezam Ayesha ka hain, to saari tareef bhi uski honi chahiye.πŸ‘

S

(looking immediately in Ayesha's direction): Ayesha?

Ayesha and Veer have during this time been unable to say a word to each other but have been looking at each other. 😍At the sound of her name, Ayesha is slightly startled.

Rahul introduces them:

R

:Sanju- yeh Ayesha hain, meri assistant aur Ayesha- yeh Sanjana hain, meri aur Veer ki bachpan ki dost. Vaise, Ayesha Veer ke Jai bhaiya ki saali bhi hain.

Both Ayesha and Sanjana acknowledge each other, fairly reserved, both clearly trying to size the other up. Veer is looking slightly frustrated as he still has not managed to say a word to Ayesha. Just then, the DJ announces that the Ball is officially declared open and he would like couples to take to the floor to open a dance. At this, Sanjana raises a challenging brow at Rahul.

S

:Well, Rahul tum to dance karoge nahin? Kyun ke last time jabh dance kiya tha tabh tumne saaf saaf kaha tha ke yeh dance wance tumhare bass ki baat nahin hein?!

Rahul looks annoyed at this and does not fail to rise to the challenge.

R

:Actually, mein Ayesha ko dance ke liye puchnehi wala tha. Oos ne itni mehanat ki hai to first dance to uska hi hona chahiye.

Both Sanjana and Veer look furious at this😑😑. Sanjana, not to be outdone, pipes in:

S:

Great! Mein bhi Veer se puchne waali thi. Yaad hain, Veer- hum college mein saari parties mein kitna dance kiya karte the.

Ayesha's heart sinks at this and she firms her mouth. It is clear to her that this Sanjana has a very close relationship with Veer. All of Ayesha's insecurities came to the fore and she felt very deflated πŸ˜”. She did not notice that Veer looked far from impressed at this idea and was about to say something, but both Rahul and Sanjana seemed to be on a mission and did not give him a chance. Before she knew what was happening, Rahul was pleadingly asking her to dance with him and she noticed that Sanjana simply seemed to drag Veer away by the arm. Both Veer and Ayesha look at each other, clear conflict written on their faces but the music starts and they have little choice but to fall into the movement of the song, the sounds of which waft across to the room:

❀️
Aaa aa'.
Sajde mein yun hi jhukta hoon, Tum pe hi aa ke rukta hoon, Kya yeh sab ko hota hai;

Hum ko kya lena hai sab se, Tum se hi sab batein ab se, Ban gaye ho tum meri dua;

Sajde mein yun hi jhukta hoon, Tum pe hi aa ke rukta hoon, Kya yeh sab ko hota hai;

Hum ko kya lena hai sab se, Tum se hi sab batein ab se, Ban gaye ho tum meri dua;

Khuda Jaane ke mein fida hun, Khuda Jaane mein mit gaya, Khuda jaane yeh kyun huwa hai, Ke ban gaye ho tum mere khuda.

❀️
Ayesha and Veer keep looking at each other whilst dancing with their respective partners and Veer's expression is tortured. Suddenly, he stops, and pulling Sanjana with him, taps Rahul on the shoulder and indicates with a very stern expression, that he is cutting in πŸ‘πŸΌ. Rahul looks over at Sanjana and appears perfectly amenable to swapping partners.

[The song continues to play but now Ayesha is in Veer's arms, one of her hands on his shoulder and the other clasped tightly in his, with his other arm firmly around her waist πŸ€—].

❀️
Tu kahe to tere hi kadam ke, main nishanon pe; Chalun rukun ishaare pe;
Tu kahe tho khwabon ka bana ke, Main bahana sa; Mila karu sirhaane pe.

Ohhh
Tum se dil ki baatein seekhi, Tum se hi yeh raahe seekhi;
Tum pe marr ke mein tho, Jjee gaya;

Khuda Jaane ke mein fida hun, Khuda Jaane mein mit gaya;
Khuda jaane yeh kyun huwa hai, Ke ban gaye ho tum mere khuda.

❀️
Ayesha is looking up at Veer and he is looking deep into her eyes, both of them mesmerised and lost in each other. Veer thinks how right she feels in his arms and thinks to himself that he will make sure she stays there.😍😍😍
❀️

Dil kahe ke aaj tho, chupa lo tum, panahon mein;
Ke darr hai tum ko kho doonga, Dil kahe ki sambhal zara khushi ko;
Na nazar laga, Ke darr hai mein tho ro dunga.

Hooo
Karthi hoon sao vaade tum se, Bandhe dil ke dhaage tum se, Yeh tumhe na jane kya hua.

Khuda Jaane ke mein fida hun, Khuda Jaane mein mit gaya;
Khuda jaane yeh kyun huwa hai; Ke ban gaye ho tum mere khuda.

Sajde mein yun hi jhukta hoon; Tum pe hi aa ke rukta hoon; Kya yeh sab ko hota hai.

Hum ko kya lena hai sab se; Tum se hi sab batein ab se; Ban gaye ho tum meri dua.

Khuda Jaane ke mein fida hun, Khuda Jaane mein mit gaya, Khuda jaane yeh kyun huwa hai,
Ke ban gaye ho tum mere khuda.

Ke ban gaye ho tum mere khuda.

❀️
The last notes of the song die away but Veer keeps holding on to Ayesha and she to him, both not even aware that the song has ended until various couples around them start clapping. Both of them blink and Ayesha starts to blush, and drops her arm from Veer's shoulder but he seems very reluctant to let go of her hand. He finally lets it go with a burning look when Rahul and Sanjana come over to them. Sanjana also looks very flushed and Rahul looks quite tense.

Part 14(e)

The party carries on and they are forced to mingle with various people and with each other. Veer's frustration also grows with each passing minute. He wants to speak to Ayesha and have her talk to him but he is unable to get a chance to do more than constantly follow her with his eyes. At one point, he sees Ayesha look over in someone's direction with a beaming smile and then rush over to greet Pammi and Raj! Rahul had allowed Ayesha to invite guests and she had of course asked Pammi. Raj had overheard Pammi talking to Ayesha on the phone and had asked Ayesha if he could come too. His reason was that he knew Rahul too and also that he worried how Pammi would come over at that time of the night! He had therefore given Pammi a lift, which she was very taken aback about, but found she was unable to argue with Raj πŸ‘πŸΌ. When Ayesha went over to greet them, Veer was standing with Rahul and Sanjana.

S: Ayesha bahut sundar hain na?

R: Haan, woh to hain. Aur aaj sari mein mene Ayesha ko pehli baar dekha- bahut achi lagti hain.πŸ‘

Veer and Sanjana simultaneously shoot him a "drop dead" look 😑. Rahul has a slight smirk on his face.

R: Vaise, Sanju- sari mein tum bhi kohi boori nahin lagrahi ho....πŸ˜‰

S (with a sarcastic, annoyed expression): Oh thanks Rahul- kitni achi baate karte ho tum!

Whilst Veer is understandably jealous at this praise from Rahul, he has also noticed that Ayesha has been attracting many admiring looks all night. He has particularly noticed that a common client of his and Rahul's, Chetan Saxena, has been staring at Ayesha frequently 😑. He leaves Sanjana and Rahul still bickering and walks over to Ayesha, on the pretext of talking to Raj and Pammi. When she notices him, Ayesha's face lights up for a second, before she drops her gaze 😳.

They all speak for a few minutes and then head out towards the adjoining balcony, from where there are steps leading to the garden. The garden has not been neglected from the decor and has lanterns strung across various trees with a gazebo created on one corner of the manicured lawn and a fountain in the centre, making a splendid backdrop. Pammi exclaims over all the arrangements and they all soon find themselves standing on the lawn. Raj then makes the excuse that he is starving and pointedly asks Pammi to come with him, so they can fetch drinks for all four of them. They leave and finally Veer is alone with Ayesha.πŸ˜ƒ

He now finds himself unable to immediately say anything and Ayesha looks equally awkward. They walk over to the fountain and Ayesha perches on the edge of the fountain's surround. She is blushing as Veer is again staring at her with a rapt expression.😳☺️

V (softly): Ayesha.....

A (looking up nervously): Haan..?

V: Ayesha, tum saree mein bahut achi lagrahi ho. Tumhe sareeya zaada pehenni chahiye.πŸ‘

Ayesha is now really embarrassed.😳😳

A: Woh, yeh to, Nandini ji ki saree hain, isiliye itni achi hain. Mein, errmmm...☺️

V: Maine sari achi he yeh nahin kaha. Maana ke saree achi hain lekin maine kaha ke tumpar bahut achi lagrahii hain.πŸ‘πŸΌ

Ayesha is now speechless and blushing furiously☺️. Veer starts to feel a bit more comfortable and confident.

V: Aur tum dance bhi bahut acha karti ho. Woh gaana mujhe bahut pasand hain, bahut ache alfaaz hain uske.πŸ˜ƒ

Ayesha really doesn't know how to respond to this Veer, who seems to be teasing and deadly serious at the same time.

V: Ayesha, kal tumhare saath, I mean tumhare aur Nihal ke sath jo time bitaya, woh mere liye bahut khaas tha. In fact, mujhe ehsaas huva hain ke tum dono ke saath bitaya huva har pal khaas hi hota hain.😊

Veer is trying to steel himself to say what he really wants to, which is that he treasures every moment he spends with Ayesha and how he wants to spend every waking minute with her, but he feels hesitant of her reaction so he decides to ease into the discussion by using Nihal as a form of a shield.

Just then Rahul and Sanjana can be heard coming over, talking.

V (muttering to himself): Een dono ko abhi yahan aana tha...πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ

A: Jee, aapne kuch kahan?

V: Urmm, nahin to.

By then they are joined by not only Rahul and Sanjana,but also Raj and Pammi (with drinks). Veer is then called away to talk to someone he knows and so is Rahul. A few moments later, Rahul beckons to Ayesha and she meets him halfway across from the rest of the group. He is with Chetan Saxena.

R: Ayesha- yeh Chetan hai, hamari hotel ka client bhi aur mein use bahut saalo se jaanta hoon. Chetan tumhare saare arrangements se bahut impressed hain, aur hamari hotel ko aanewale uske bahut bade conference ke liye book karna chahta hain.

Ayesha feels very pleased to hear this.

R: Chetan ne hame pichle saal book nahin kiya, woh competion taraf chalagaya tha (with a wink πŸ˜‰)- I mean Ramada mein sare functions rakhe pichle saal, lekin agar hamari saare facilities achi lagi, to ees bar ka contract hame milega.

C: Haan, aise arrangements rahe to zaroor. Magar mujhe aapke conference rooms ka layout kuch yaad nahin. Kya Ayesha ji ya tum mujhe abhi dikha sakte ho? To kal mujhe isiliye vapas na aana pade.

R: Yeah sure, mein aur Ayesha chalte hain.

At this Chetan, unnoticed by Rahul and Ayesha, seemed to look over their heads and give a slight nod in someone's direction. As if on cue, another man came over and started talking to Rahul. This appeared to be someone who both Chetan and Rahul knew and also a business contact. He started asking Rahul about some other bookings.

C: Rahul, tum Rishi ke saath baat kar rahe to tabh tak, shayad Ayesha ji mujhe conference ki facility dikha sakti hain? Mujhe phir nikalna hoga.

Rahul does not look to happy about this but Rishi starts to talk to him insistently too and he shoots Ayesha a helpless look.

A: Koi baat nahin Sir, mein Sir ke saath aage jati hoon, aur aap apni baat poori kar ke aajaiye.

Ayesha and Chetan walk off. Within a short time, Veer is walking around, his eyes seeking Ayesha. When he asks Pammi, she mentions she saw her with Rahul so Veer walks over to Rahul and Rishi. Interrupting them he asks where Ayesha is. Rahul tells him that she has gone with Chetan to show him the conference room and at this, Veer looks both annoyed and anxious. For some reason, he is not comfortable with Ayesha being alone with Chetan, given the way Chetan had been staring at her earlier. He tells Rahul abruptly that he is going to look for Ayesha and then quickly starts walking back in the hotel, straight towards the floor with the conference rooms.

As soon as he is on the floor and going towards the conference room, he hears a loud scream and there is a deafening crash from within the conference room at the same time.😲😲 Veer's heart jumps to his throat as the scream was Ayesha's voice and he sprints to the conference room and barges straight through the door. When he thunders in, he is greeted by a sight that immediately brings his blood to a boil.😑

Ayesha has fallen on the floor, having clearly toppled a chair over when she fell. There is a small trickle of blood on the side of her mouth, as if she has been struck! Her saree and hair are totally disheveled and it seems as though her saree is ripped at the shoulder, either from the fall or from an earlier struggle 😲. Chetan is looming over her with a nasty angry expression, but jumps back in shock when Veer crashes through the door 😲.

It takes Veer only a moment to size up the situation. He feels anger such as he has never felt before. This is a thousand-fold stronger and more powerful than the jealously he felt towards Rahul, and he had thought he felt murderous then! Seeing Ayesha's state, the rage courses through him and he runs towards Chetan, and before anyone can even blink, he lands a punch straight on his face!😑😑😑

Chetan reels with the blow and the shock of it but before he can recover, Veer is upon him again. Veer hears himself shouting:

V: Tumne Ayesha ko chune ki himat kaise ki??!!! I'LL KILL YOU CHETAN! 😑😑😑

Chetan out of reflex, tries to fight back but is no match for Veer's anger. Veer slaps him and is making ready to throw another punch, totally oblivious to the fairly weak punch Chetan is aiming at his midriff.

By this point, Rahul also burst in and sizing up the situation, tries to pull Veer off as it seems that he will otherwise kill Chetan. Veer is in such a rage, it seems that Rahul will not be able to hold him off, but then Rahul whilst shouting at him to calm down yells,

R: Veer!! Oh god- AYESHA! 😡

Rahul has realised that whilst the fight is progressing, Ayesha is still on the floor, hysterically crying.😭😭😭

At this, Veer freezes and then immediately runs to Ayesha and kneels on the floor. He cradles her in his arms and she buries her face against his chest, sobbing 😭😭. Veer clutches her as if he will never let her go and then looks up at Rahul. Rahul is now shaking Chetan, asking what the hell is going on.

By now, Pammi, Raj and Sanjana also rush in as they had seen first Veer, and then soon after, Rahul dash off so they figured something was wrong and just about managed to see which floor Rahul was headed towards 😲. As they walk in, Veer looking almost beside himself says,

V: RAHUL! Tum Chetan ko bachane ki koshish bhi mat karna. Ayesha ke saath ees harkat ke liye, main use nahin chodunga.😑😑😑

C (despite the beating he has taken, doesn't take the wise decision to keep quiet!): Oh shut up Veer! Tum kaun hote ho beech mein padne wale?! Ya phir tumhara es secretary ke saath kohi chakkar hain? Yeh tumhare kya lagti hain? 🀬🀬

Everyone looks livid at this and even Rahul is unable to stop himself from grasping Chetan by the collar with a shout at this 😑😑. Ayesha's sobs get even louder and she tries to clutch Veer even tighter 😭. Veer automatically tightens his grip on her and lays a gentle hand on her head, which is still burrowed in his chest πŸ€—. However, before Rahul can say anything, Veer says,

V: Tumhari soch jitni ghatiya hain, utni hi tumhare zaban. Agar Ayesha ka abh naam bhi liya to mein tumhare zaban to kheech loonga, lekin tumhare ussebhi boora haal karoonga.

R: Chetan- yeh goostakhi tumhe bahut mehengi pade gi. Jee to mera bhi chahta hain ke me hi tumhe saza doon, lekin main pehle police ko phone karta hoon.😑

C (with a shaky laugh): Haan Rahul, karo Police ko phone. Main unko bata doonga ke yeh ladki mere saath aayi, aur mujse flirt karne lagi. Jabh woh mujpar girne lagi, to maine dhaka diya, aur isiliye woh gir gayi. Tum janto ho ke meri kitni pehchaan hain, kya Police ees ladki ka bharosa karegi ya mera?🀬🀬🀬

Veer looks incensed at this but is now getting conscious that Ayesha is shaking in his arms. At these words, she looks up at him imploringly. His heart breaks to look at her tear-stained face and the sight of the trickle on blood near her mouth fuels his anger against Chetan once more😑.

A (in a hoarse whisper): Veer... please...mujhe ghar jaana hain, police nahin, please....😭

She breaks down, sobbing again. Veer forces himself to suppress his rage for Ayesha's sake, as it is clear that she needs him. Rahul and Pammi start to walk towards Ayesha, and Rahul's arm is slightly outstretched. Before he has taken more than two steps, Veer holds up his arm in a very decisive gesture and thrusts it, palm outwards, towards everyone.

V: Ayesha ko kohi bhi haath nahin lagaye ga ees waqt. πŸ‘

He then shrugs out of his jacket and drapes it tenderly over her and then scoops her up into his arms in one swift movement. Ayesha again buries her face in his chest. Veer looks at the rest, except Chetan,

V: Main Ayesha ko ghar le jarahoon. Shayad doctor ko bhi dikhana pade. Mein aap sabh ko bad mein phone karoonga lekin ees waqt mujhe jaana hoga.

With a final venomous look at Chetan,

V: Ees se to main baad mein niptoonga.😑🀬

He then strides out with Ayesha in his arms and goes straight to his car, which he drives home at breakneck speed, all the while looking across at Ayesha's bent head and huddled frame with deep concern at regular intervals.πŸ˜”

Once home, Ayesha insists she doesn't need a doctor. She insists on having a shower and then allows Veer to gently clean the small cut near her mouth, which is already sore and swollen but drying up. She has other small cuts and bruises and as he ministers to these, Veer feels helpless rage build up in him again. However, as soon as he speaks to Ayesha, all you can hear is tenderness and concern.

Ayesha is very shaken up and feels unable to let go off Veer after this is done. He gently makes her lie down on and sits by her side, still holding onto her hand comfortingly.

V: Ayesha, please tum thoda aaram karo- main yahin hoon aur abh tumhe kuch nahin hoga. πŸ€—

He again gently wipes her tears, which seem not to stop, but she is both physically and emotionally drained and eventually her eyes flutter shut and she drifts into an uneasy sleep. Veer is unable to move from beside her and sits next to her, at some point leaning back on the headrest but still holding her hand and looking at her beloved face with love and tenderness, until he dozes off into a fitful sleep too; ready to come awake at the slightest sound from her.
