Jaane kya baat hui to go off air |
Isn't it ironical how things change on television in a matter of just 48 hours? On Saturday, we spoke to Cinevistaas' head of fiction Sharad Raj who was all praise for Colors while saying that despite the low ratings, the channel hasn't yet pull the plug on their show jaane kya baat hui And now, poor Raj has told us that the show is going off air on 5 June. "Unfortunately, this is true now. This decision was taken in the last 24 hours. Jaane kya baat hui will end on 5 June," said Raj. Despite this decision by Colors, Raj holds nothing against the channel. "It's unfortunate that such a different show couldn't work. Despite the initial setback, Colors still showed faith in us and gave us a new slot. I'm not sure how other channels would have reacted," Raj sighs. Apparently, just 48 hours ago all talk centered around the change in the track whereby the channel, after conducing a market research, decided against the original plot of Aradhana having an affair with Shantanu abinav shukla That is what we discussed with Raj on Saturday. "Colors conducted a market research which showed that the Indian audience is not comfortable with a bahu having an extra marital affair. We respect that and thus we decided going against the original plot. The problem lies with our audience. We are simply not prepared to accept bold and different subjects. Colors had really liked the concept and pumped in lot of money into our show. They are as disappointed as us," adds a disconsolate Raj. Jaane kya baat hui may be history but Raj has disclosed to us that Cinevistaas is also pitching for a new show for the same channel. However, after Jaane kya.. experience, Raj says that Cinevistaas is no longer willing to have bold subjects. Well, all we can say is that a this is a classic case of once bitten twice shy. |
