Shweta Tiwari, the much celebrated television actress was born on 4th October 1980 at Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. She has attained stardom with "Kasautii Zindagi Kay", in which she portrayed the role of Prerna Basu. She also won the Star Parivaar Award for the best bahu in 2004. Shweta Tiwari began her career at the age of twelve and worked in a travel agency. Shweta Tiwari got noticed by a well-known director while she was playing "Khoobsoorat Bahu" on stage. Once her television career was launched with "Kaleerein" there was no turning back for this amazing actress. She got meaty roles in Aane Waala Phal", "Karam", "Kasautii Zindagi Kay", "Kya hadsa kya haqueeqat" and "Kahin Kissi Roz" etc.
Shweta Tiwari, a commerce graduate from Burhanis College in Mazgaon, Mumbai, and a one time stage actress had attained an iconic status on television as Prerna in "Kasautii Zindagi Kay". Shweta Tiwari, the ever gentle lady maintains an excellent rapport with Ekta Kapoor, the legendary maker of soap operas on small screen. She says of Ekta Kapoor, Ekta is an excellent producer. If I need to go out for a couple of days for an ad shoot, she changes the storyline just to suit my schedule. I couldn't have asked for more.Shweta Tiwari also acted in movies like "Abracadabra", adhoshi" {2004}, "Din-E-Intzaar" - Heute ist der Tag Dahek {2006} and a Bhojpuri film called "Hamar Saiyyan Hindustani".
