I think you are absolutely right. These small but very thoughtful gestures of Shantanu actually touch a chord with Aradhana....as you said , nobody ha ever thought about her or done anything make her happy. So , when this guy tries to make her happy , she is genuinely touched. Even in real life , your strongest bonds are formed with the people who stand by you through thick and thin and ,make you feel loved and appreciated....

What Aradhana and Shantanu share right now is a purely platonic sweet friendship and it really very feel-good. What's more , even Aradhana's mom-in-law is forming a bond with Shantanu... she opens up her heart to him , shares her thoughts with him . And I think , in near future , he will prove a real son to her besides Bharat. Shailendra and even Akshay are just garbage...seriously.
