Why Shweta Tiwari will never forgive Deepak Qazir During a game played in the camp of Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, Shweta Tiwari was asked to describe the toughest decision of her life. She said it was her divorce from husband Raja but refused to talk about it. Instead, she spoke about an incident that occurred with co-star Deepak Qazir (who played Anurag Basu/ Cezaane Khan's father in Kasautii Zindagii Kay). It was during the days of Kasautii... when they had back-to-back, day-night shooting schedules. Shweta's daughter, who was in Meerut with her in-laws (Raja Chaudhary's parents), had fallen seriously ill. So Shweta requested some time off to go look after her daughter. However, Deepak Qazir apparently spread the rumour that Shweta was lying about her daughter's illness and that the real reason for her break was that she was getting Rs 1 lakh to attend a Navratri function. Shweta denied the story, and said that Deepak had told her, 'Give me Rs 50,000 from your 1 lakh, and I will tell the producer that your daughter is really unwell and needs your attention'. When a furious Shweta approached producer Shobha Kapoor, she was granted only one day's leave. Shweta went to Meerut and met her daughter, Palak, who was thrilled. But the actress had to leave early in the morning when her daughter was asleep, because she had to resume work the same day. Shweta said that it was one of the toughest times in her life when she had to prove herself right. She broke down in front of the cameras, saying, 'I will never forgive you for this, Deepak Qazir'. Though many television actors like Rajeev Khandelwal and Prachi Desai have made a successful transition from television to films, TV actress Shweta Tiwari (Kasautii Zindagii Kay) was not lucky with her first film. Her debut film Madhoshi (2004) starring John Abraham and Bipasha Basu may have bitten the dust, but she's not given up on her Bollywood inclinations, even five years down the line. She has recently signed Umesh Chauhan's Benny Aur Babloo as one of the five heroines. The film marks the directorial debut of Yunus Sajawal, who had written God Tussi Great Ho, Partner, Golmaal and Tom, Dick and Harry. Shweta plays a Guest Relations Officer in a five-star hotel and will be seen in a glamorous avataar, contrary to her traditional TV image. Yunus confirmed the news and said, "Yes, Shweta is doing my film. I had seen Shweta in a few TV serials. I felt that she was very good at playing characters which require her to hide her pain and look happy. The role in my film is that of someone who requires to show those kind of emotions." Benny Aur Babloo is a telling commentary on bars and five-star hotels. The film also stars Kay Kay Menon, Rajpal Yadav, Anita Hasanandani and Nandini Jumaani. |
