The new politicians - TV stars!

With Raju Srivastav set to contest the elections, we pick telly stars who we would like to see join politics.

After Smriti Irani contested in the Loksabha election last year in Delhi, Raju Srivastav will be contesting in the upcoming Loksabha election in Allahabad this year. So with telly actors turning politicians, we take a look at few stars who we would like to see contesting in the elections soon.
Shweta Tiwari

Apart from her slim and trim figure and her innocent beauty that will lure men into voting for her, Shweta's well-publicised issues with her husband Raja Chaudhary too will get her sympathy from the junta. The actress is intelligent and demands attention with her mere presence. In addition to this, she would also have a good amount of support from her Bhojpuri film fans.

Heartbreak couples

Just like the serials, the television industry has its fair share of romance off screen too, with actors pairing up, proclaiming their love and even participating in reality shows together, generating a collective 'aww' from viewers everywhere. But with love comes heartbreak and for a few, breakups are inevitable- though they usually happen in a less flamboyant manner. We take a look that the pairing of TV actors that unfortunately, have not stood the test of time.

Shweta Tiwari and Raja Chaudhary
How long: They parted ways after eight years of marriage.
Reasons for partying ways: Shweta accused Raja of 'domestic violence' and filed a petition for divorce against him.
Current status: Both of them are single as of now.

TV stars cross over to the dark side

Maybe because it's slimming, stylish or just safe but the television brigade, unlike their onscreen personas, love the colour black. Actors are always seen in very bright and colorful traditional clothes on their serials. But when they step out of their reel life images, they tend to balance things out wearing black outfits - all the time!

Shweta Tiwari
Shweta is presently seen playing the lead role of Aradhana on Jane Kya Baat Hui (Colors) and is also a co-host on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (Sony Tv). She's known for her bright personality, amazing body, beautiful hair, good height and killer smile and that's why we can't phantom why she wouldn't want to experiment with colour when she's not shooting. Instead, the actress keeps her dressing elegant (and slightly boring) by wearing black.

Jaane Kya Baat Hui goes off air
Jaane Kya Baat Hui will breathe its last

COLORS' serial Jaane Kya Baat Hui will be pulled off air on June 5th. Although the show had a strong storyline and subject, it failed to garner the required TRP. The producers of the show however, disagree. "The TRPs are showing signs of improvement. It was moved from prime time slot to evening slot but the show is doing ok. It is just now that the channel wants to pull it off the air," says a source.

"Actually, we are delivering better numbers now, and we have a nice story line going.. I have not heard about the show going off air; but if the news is true, then I would take it as the channel's prerogative and move on," says the show's lead actor, Sanjeet Bedi.

Shweta is sour over missing salt

TV's darling bahu Shweta Tiwari doesn't seem too happy with the Malaysian jungle lifestyle she is living for Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao.
Says our Indya source, "Shweta is being a delicate darling on the sets. She has not been able to adjust to her surroundings and cribs all the time. When she was offered radish and peppers, she complained that there wasn't enough salt. She grumbled that despite all the difficult tasks the contestants were made to do, they weren't even being offered a pinch of salt."

The story doesn't end here. Shweta has also been attracting negative vibes from other contestants because of her friendship with Aman Verma. Our source says, "Others are not happy with Aman's partiality for Shweta. Even though their closeness is not a threat to the contestants, they all definitely envy the two. Unfortunately, Shweta is bearing the brunt of this, not Aman."

Let's hope Shweta's troubles get better.

Watch the show from Monday to Thursday at 10pm, and on Friday at 9pm on Sony.
