Thugs of Hindostan faces savage trolling

With an average 70 per cent occupancy during morning shows across the country, Thugs of Hindostan has begun its box-office journey on a great note. Starring Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles, the big Diwali release is expected to rake in at least Rs 40 crore on its opening day, trade pundits suggest. Keeping in view the film's occupancy rate, it indeed looks like a possibility.

And while Thugs of Hindostan has set off fireworks at the box-office, the film has apparently failed to impress the film critics and audiences alike. At least, this is what the many audience reviews on Twitter suggest. Barring a few positive reviews here and there, the micro-blogging platform is replete with savage reactions to the high-budgeted film.

I'm honestly shocked by the reviews! 😲 I didn't think a film of Aamir's would ever be criticized this way.
The Zero trailer on the other hand is receiving accolades galore! I'm so happy SRK's finally in form with an interesting character! πŸ˜ƒ I hope with all my might that the script works in his favour this time unlike Fan. I'm intrigued by Anuskha's character who I believe stood out in the trailer with her performance.

Well as i was not all impressed with the trailer i wasn't surprised and glad to know just star cast doesn't help the movie. Content matters at the end of the day πŸ‘

Dazz haven't seen Zero trailer but glad to know that your favourite is rocking πŸ˜‰

All the trade pandits and SNS have given the same review across board, which is very scary.
The estimated budget is 300 crores. I sincerely hope that atleast it breaks even.
After watching the trailer, I felt something is missing but then convinced myself that the era is different that's why I am not able to connect.

Have to agree with Avani, times are changing and now content is the King. Actors can pull public in initial few days but then afterwards it all depends on the content.

Now off to watch Zero's trailer.

TFS, DAZZ!

This goes to show that no celebrity, not even a mega superstar, can predict the outcome of a film. Aamir is known to give his all and have complete faith in the projects and characters he chooses to don on the big screen. He also said in an interview once that the anxiety he experiences a month before the release of a film is on another level. I hope for his sake that the film at least breaks even and that no one suffers a loss.

I have my fingers crossed for SRK, Avani. He's one actor that's learnt the hard way that content is KING. His talent as an actor deserves to be appreciated if given the right platform. 😳

You and me both, Ami! 😭 Let's hope the film does well for Aamir who leaves no stone untouched for his projects. I've only come across accolades for Amitabh's character and criticism for the rest. I feel TOH had a very similar vibe to Pirates of the Caribbean mixed in with a theme of patriotism. I feel that Aamir's fans expect offbeat films from him that haven't been attempted before. Ghajni is the only movie of Aamir's in the past decade or so that I didn't like at all. 😳

What did you think of the trailer? ☺️

I am not sure Dazz! I sometime feel such losses are necessary for the industry to realise that just adding star casts and glamour without any relevance is not good !!
I know it's big money and lot of hard work involved but i always feel bad when good content movies with no star cast flops and big budget movies with no content at all becomes a hit just in the name of cast!
So this bitter pill is necessarily i think for him to come back with a good movie later:)

And After Aamir acted in Dhoom i realised he is kinda doing alternate roles. One with glamour and masala and one offbeat !! This was supposed to be different and offbeat but the way they approached the subject don't seemed to be correct. Again want to take example of agaan . The period of the story is same as Lagaan but if you see the relevance pov this movie was way out of it!!

Sorry again i am kinda unforgiving in these matters because i feel audiences are sometime taken granted by movie producers. Can't blame actors here as they put their cent percent to entertain !!. I know it's too much from my side πŸ˜†

Just watch Zero trailer . Srk seems to be back with good one this time πŸ‘

Fingers crossed for TOH.
I watched Zero's trailer and it is very good. I could not stop laughing. The character just keeps on talking all the time.πŸ˜†πŸ˜† . Totally different from what he has done so far.
The song in the trailer is very catchy and good. Loved it.
"Jab taak Jahan mein subha shyam hai tab tak mere naam tu". Also Anushka is trying different roles and she is doing it really well.
I am sure this film is going to do wonders at the BO πŸ‘πŸΌ

Avani, I agree with all that you've said and you don't need to apologize at all for your perspective on the topic. I didn't realize Aamir was alternating between commercial and niche films up until now. πŸ€” Would you classify PK and 3 Idiots as commercial films? 😳 I know there's a lot of masala in both films, but the essential theme of both films was offbeat in my humble opinion. 😊 I have such high hopes for SRK, Avani. I want him to regain his lost glory! Isn't SRK doing the biopic of an Indian astronaut? If so, then I feel another Swades or Chak De is in the making. πŸ˜‰

Let's keep our fingers crossed for SRK, Ami. He deserves a blockbuster just as much as Aamir and Salman. ☺️
