These are the words or common terms, all of them related to Navaratri, Durga Puja or Dusshera. Answers close to the actual answers will be accepted (be its in english or hindi).

Should not use this world and popularize it even more. It's already ingrained but we should start getting rid of it.

Others were vigilant enough to make sure thier religious beliefs and cultures aren't called Mythology. You will never here Christian Mythology, Islamic Mythology or even Sikh/Jewish/Persian/Buddhist Mythology. I am actaully surprised how widespread it is and how such knowlegible people use this word.

Can call this forum India Religious, Sanatan Dharm, Hindu religion, Bhakti Forum, Aradhana Forum whatever you feel right. Mythology is wrong.

Tata Play are sensitive in this matter. They have named the channel Aradhana that shows Religious functions from the temples around the country, Shows that have been made before, Kathas, bhakti music etc.

Similarly they have an Ibadat channel for Islam.

Please think about this.

I had this doubt so I posted here. Please tell me if this not the right place or move it there.

Thanks.

I agree it shouldn't be called mythology

I am reading one book of osho's called Krishna the man and his philosophy

In that book he has explained so aptly why we never cared to call our epics history or why our ancestors never noted dates and time of Ram or Krishna birth

It wasn't hard for them as Gadit (maths) was never a problem for them, it was because they knew Krishna and our dieties our God is beyond time, they will come and go whenever they want, they are not bound by law of time and space

That's why they never called it history because history is itself a concept of time

It really made me think and changed my perspective a little bit

If we have to call our religion something it should be a concept of philosophical or simply devotion

Like you mentioned TV channels are good with this

Prem Bhakti, Aradhana, Aastha, Sankaar, Sanskriti
