Hi,

History has very limited coverage as far as the topics posted in this forum.

Mythology has much wider frame.

When we cover Indian Rishis, they are from Sat yuga, Treta yuga, too. Can we trace that time period & list them to a particular Era?

Is Spirituality covered in History?

Are stotras, mantras, covered in History?

Answer to all above questions is, No.

So let this forum be the way it is.

I understand your point, but instead of mythology u can use words like spirituality or devotional, mythology means lie but our spiritual books and events were not lie.

Mythology doesn't mean lies. It's a misconception. Things which exists, but exact timeline is not worked out due to our highly limited knowledge, tools, can not be called lies.

Can you define timeliness for Lord Shiv? Devi Shakti? If you are unable to find one, then will you call them lies?

Words like Spirituality, devotion, will be applied wherever they can. One can't just use any word anywhere.

However, if you all want to discuss History, we can create a private forum.

Instead of history we can use the word Itihas, since this is specifically related to our past

While history has a very specific definition, Itihas covers a broader spectrum. It is about the instances and narration as it happened.

The texts Mahabharat and Ramayana have been called has Itihasa for Millenia. In fact originally the word was only used for these and Puranas, only recently we have started using the term as Hindi translation of history

We can have the forum renamed as Indian Theology (mythology is generally a term used for dead religions like Roman or Greek paganism)
