Review - 25 & 26 March

Undoubtedly today is revanth's day.

Starting with vidya balan entry and anchors today did some small advertisement of products depicting the contestants. It wasn't that funny but that's ok...

Vidya Balan's entry was quite filmy. Coming to the performance

1. Khudabaksh - I like this song but didn't quite enjoy . He was good.

2. Malavika - Since this is an old song haven't heard it. But, enjoyed the performance.

3. Rohit - Messed up such a beautiful song and yes I missed the original version. He was nowhere close to the original song. Though he tried his best but still something was missing.

4. Revanth - It was Revanth's day today. He sang the song so well. He was like a breath of fresh air.

I love Vidya Balan but tired of movie promotions on reality shows..they are OTT n silly.

My reviews below

Revanth - Surprisingly, he picked the best song today. It suited his voice and he sang very well. As usual, he gave the best feel. I enjoyed it.

Malavika - Not the best song of the episode but the toughest perhaps. I thought she sang well but since it is a classical song, i leave it to experts to judge. I can only comment on how I felt listening to her and it was OK.

Rohit - He was OK too. He sang the Kawali song from Main Hun Haan and there were many lines to remember. Apparently, he made a mistake somewhere Farah pointed out. I wish he picked some other song though.

Khudabaksh - Like in the previous episode, he went breathless at several places. Maybe it is just me, it feels like he sings without enough practice, which is not true I know but it feels that way when he sings.

Looking forward to the Sunday episode. Hope they all pick better songs.

well commenting for first tym since it was first episode which I watched fully on TV including commercials otherwise it's always in bits and pieces or either watching online to catch up on revanth's performances although I missed starting and kb's performance bt no regrets there ...well coming to epi,
have not seen kb's performance so can't comment on that..
maalvika was very good but something was missing ..there was something off about her voice..having zero knowledge of sur and taal I rely heavily on voice nd tone of singer Nd how much it matches to the song..I don't know much bt felt her sur and raag were perfect Nd song was also
good totally of her genre but her voice tone stopped it from becoming that "can listen to anytime" song of hers
coming to Rohit haven't listened much of his songs but I know he is fantastic Nd today I felt he was good ...nt wonderful bt it was good in his own style..he made mistake with lyrics bt that was ok ..bt when judges were hugging with sonu's version in background I can't help but feel that he was not that gud ,he was just ok ok bcoz you could totally feel the difference..Sonu literally had magic in his voice in that song
for revant that voice factor totally worked in his favour..the guy has magical voice...I m hooked to his voice from his audition specially when he sang manohari...I don't know if his notes and sur were perfect or not but for me it was wonderful to listen...

don't know where to put KB bt I'm sure it's not on top so maybe a tie with Rohit..
(is it just me or does anyone else feel when revanth gets appreciative comments from Sonu nigam he has this relief on his face and is much happier when compared to with anu or Farah's comments...I don't know bt after masakali and today he looked much happier after sonu's comments like he know if Sonu is praising then it must be genuine...)

Finally watched the episode, and it just dawned on me after next week, I won't know what to do on weekends.

Didn't enjoy the promotion on the show. I'm not against film promotions, but today was OTT.

My review in order of performance:

1. Khudabaksh - he chose such a lovely song. Only he can make a foot tapping number sound romantic - which means he didn't do justice to the song. A dance number is a dance number! Farahs comment was non sensical. Anyway, I agree with her that it didn't make me want to dance. There was no energy and feel to the song. It was like any other song he sings. Though I must say he doesn't add as many annoying harkats and has moved away from folk songs. He clearly doesn't belong to the top 3. His performance today was mediocre.

2. Maalavika - classical is her forte. And she's did justice. As weeks have passed she's tried variations within songs and did that today as well. I must say it was a good job. What I quite like about her is unlike most Carnatic singers she enunciates quite well. Today her mastery over her art was evident. I still don't like her voice, but that doesn't take anything away from her.

3. Rohit - another brilliant song. First things first, at such a crucial stage, forgetting lyrics shouldn't be taken lightly. Besides it's not the first time it's happening. He wasn't bad, but he wasn't great. In my opinion, Rohit knows how good he is, but he wants to show the world. Because of which he is so focussed on showing everything his vocal chords are capable of doing. Nothing wrong, but would be best if he limited himself to showing 1-2 difficult vocal expressions and concentrate on other areas.

4. Revanth - when he started, I was worried. First this style isn't something we've seen him attempt before, second the first 2-3 words were quite out of tune. But once he picked it up from there, he had me in awe. After his performance all I could think of is what hasn't he attempted? Today when he sang there was a calmness (thehraav), silkiness in his voice which reminded of Rohit's earlier performances (especially naina thag lenge). The way Revanth used meend (it's a classical term, which I can't explain in words) was amazing. The mukhda and antara (thereafter this song moves on to a different raag) of this song are in raag yaman kalyan just like laal ishq and both these performances are probably his most praised performances. Loved the comments from all judges. And today even Sonu had to acknowledge how good he was. We all know how much Sonus comments mean to him.

4- Khudabaksh

Though I knew Maalavika was leaving today I felt bad. She clearly deserved to stay over Khudabaksh. Not just that, after winning the golden mike there was no way she could've been eliminated (I wish Sony would give some explanation).

Revanth was the best performer for this episode. Moh Moh Ke Daage is a song with deep feels and his voice blended in so perfectly. ❤️
