I have been following all the singing reality shows recently, and I find the evictions are fair and unbiased and the voters know what they actually been doingπŸ‘
Coming to Indian Idol (and sometimes Rising Star), majority of the times, voters are rooting for their "Favorite" no matter how they perform that specific week.
The Indian audience (voters) need to have a conscience and open mind and stop jeopardizing true and hard working contestants success. And the channel and PH need to stop intervening and take into consideration what the experts (on show judges) have to say. Just my two cents!

Agreed but that i snot going to help the show. Organizers have to risk TRPs by doing that.

First things first, talent shows shouldn't have public voting.

most of the population doesn't understand singing (in this case) and vote for contestants basis looks, regionalism, etc.

Also a contestant like Shravan, who is an exceptional singer but sings classical (which is tougher) will be voted out, because people don't understand and appreciate his kind of music.

In the end you'll have people who sing ok, but look better or have a sadder sob story to tell.

And honestly even the channel promotes such singers for trp.

Gone are the days when judging was fair like in sa re ga ma pa of the 90's or early 2000's or meri awaaz suno.

Accept the reality and just enjoy the show, don't think too much. It's all a money making business now and not a genuine talent hunt

Yes, agreed the public voting should be stopped in every reality show. The end result should be left only to the judges.

Completely agree with you raina. There was no public voting thing during meri aawaaz suno days so we got singer like sunidhi chauhan. Feel so bad for shravan. I really wish he gets more opportunities so that we can listen him in future.

Wats the percentage of votes n marks on Idol? 50 each?
Yes, Judges shud have more decisive authority on reality shows provided tht they don't indulge in favouritsm. I don't mind a certain level of public voting either, like 30-40% is okay.

I completely agree with you Raina. Public vote for many weird things. Looks, fashion, hair or just any silly thing. Regionalism also plays a big part in voting and winning.

Judges decisions are also not always right. Now before any one jumps on me Farah khan as a judge on a singing show is questionable. Shreya was good.

Judges on original SRGM were the best. As judges were being rotated. They used to bring expert MD, classical pandits, lyricist etc. Not the judges we have had on some of the reality shows.

Again Channel plays a big hand in who is promoted. Indians like sob stories and emotional atyachar ends up winning. My 2 cents.

On II I like Sonu.

Rising star I question all 3 judges at times. Shanker promoting Raghav a dancer on a singing show is bit too much to digest. I guess they have to keep the show entertaining so bring anything and everthing for TRP.😲😳

I agree about the public voting. I never liked the concept. Star Plus's Dil Hai Hindustani was doing well, now they introduced public voting at top 8! Unfair for the International contestants.

Not just Farah, but you can see all judges giving comments that aren't true. They praise certain contestants to the skies while some who deserve praises get none (and I'm not only talking about Revanth here).

I'm not sure even judges are fair. I don't blame them for having a favourite but judgement should be fair.
Infact I'd like something where judges change every week. That way hopefully there'll be little to no favouritism.

I know it's not a viable option.

I really liked Javed Akhtar as a judge on Fame Gurukul (not sure he should judge a singing show, but he seemed genuine).
