I wonder why they don't ask Prashant to talk in Nepali. Chang is more Indian than many of us. They should stop asking him to speak Chinese and such. It makes him stand out from the crowd which I am sure he doesn't want to.

Charisma, an incredibly beautiful voice, remarkable singing talent, intelligence, good looks, cuteness and a heart of gold; its rare that you find all these qualities in the same person but our very own chang has got all that. Irrespective of who he is and to what nationality he belongs, there are countless who adore him to distraction. Why bring up his nationality time and again on the show? It could or couldn't harm him in certain ways.

Thanks to everyone for sharing!

I have been thinking and noticed that Chang has to go through this Chinese things everytime. It is as if everyone wannts in one day Chang will become fade up and will say Yes I am Chinese, Learned Hindi in 10 days as a matter of fact It was 10 days course but I learned it in 5 days because I am damn good in studies and came to India to visit and saw a Indian Idol Audition going on and gave a try. I fooled all the judges and made an entry to II3 and now I am in final. any prb with it???Nikal sako toh nikalo, ukhad sako toh ukhado but I still speak hindi much better than u guys" 😑

Anyways the way he is handling this stuff is just too good, in a very intelligent way and in more patience ways everytime reminding whole world that he is Indian and proud to be one. πŸ‘ πŸ‘

Hats Off to you Chang. πŸ‘

No matter where u come from, who so ever say what ever things of you u still sing beautifully and whether u will win or lose u will be always remebered as a cute chang who made the whole wolrd to listen to you when u start to singπŸ‘

Meiyang Chang's achingly innocent voice and humble demeanor make him sound like a young Kumar Sanu. I'm rooting for him to win Indian Idol, and not only because of his voice. Chang winning would throw a fag on the pyre of the idea of India as a nation-state. He would throw in the BJP's face the idea that the cow belt has a monopoly on who's a true Indian. He would do it in the most patriotic way possible, singing the songs all of northern India knows. Once you see Loins of Punjab Presents, you might find a certain resonance.

But until Chang lands in the finals, it's painful watching him go through the whole 'But you look Chinese!' routine every round. Here he's asked to speak the other tongue, and his response is brilliantly subversive: he claims the only words he knows are, 'I don't speak Chinese.' Watching Chang parry casual Indian racism is like watching Aishwarya play Sati-Savitri on screen. They're masters.

What has Chang got to do with BJP or the cow belt or any such thing ?????????????????? I do not undertsand the meaning of any such statement. He is a great singer and above all these political complications. I dont think all these statements are necessary.
