I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I always respect legendary singers like Alka, and never would come just to rip them.

was this directed towards me?

Hey I didnt knew there was a female version of Tum mile dil khile also, I was so used to listening to Kumar sanus voice. Though I know male female voice cannot be compared but still just cant avoid comparisons. Though I consider Kumar sanus version better but I also feel Alkaji has done a nice job, I liked the feel of the song. I ll rate it a 7.

Ahhhh.. lovely oldie goldie song 😊

Alka ji's voice is lovingly sugary all the way. She sings with subtle romantic expressions. Her throw is exact and accurate. Her clarity, smooth voice quality are the high-lights of this track. The feel of the song is captured wonderfully, no doubt about it. Felt little flaws in the singing. Otherwise, it is a really nice job done by Alka ji.

Ok first off I want to apologize for the delay in rating! I promise to get it done before friday! For now I just stepped in to say a few words in regards to this song!

I am mostly against comparison between two singers! There are exceptions to that though, but this one is no exception! How can you compare Alka ji's version to Kumar ji's version? If you think about it , it's quite unfair to do so! Each singer has different standards!

I have more to say but I'll have to save that for tomorrow cause I'm sick right now!

RA and I discussed as to which song we wanted for Alka ji in the final round if she made it this far. And she did! =] We both came to the decision to use this song as the final song for her! I hope it was a good selection or somewhat a good selection.

For me it is def one of Alka ji's best songs to date. Her high notes were done very well and she kept her expressions throughout the whole song. The faster parts in this song were also maintained very well by her.

I think the best emphasis that Alka ji had throughout the whole song were these lines:
"Na ho tu udaas, tere paas paas
Main rahoongi zindagi bhar
Na ho tu udaas, tere paas paas
Main rahoonga zindagi bhar
Saare sansaar ka pyaar maine tujhi mein paaya"

The tempo was very fast yet was very well maintained by her. Her emphasis in certain places were put in well and she knew when to control her voice modulation.

I didn't see much struggle with her high notes either in this song. She put in a lot of variations to her voice as well.

The songs difficulty level is pretty high too. Its not as easy as it songs. The high notes really need a practiced voice to sing. From the singing it really seems like she put in a lot of practice and effort into this song in order to bring out her best! I just loved the way she sung it. I can hardly find any flaws in it. Its def a beautiful piece to hear!

As far as comparison comes, I am strongly against it (other than a few exceptions)! BUT how can we compare a male version to a female version? Isn't that wrong? Its not fair to judge Alka ji based on the male version. Each singer has different standers, especially if one singer is a male and the other a female! So my rating will be solely based on Alka ji's version and her version alone! =]

This is a difficult song ... probably one of the most difficult sung by Alkaji!
Excellent expressions throughout but the singing couldve been better ...
In the mukhda, when she sings 'rahoongi zindagi bhar' - breath control is an issue here.
Then when she sings 'jeene ko kya chahiye' while ending the mukhda, the harkat on 'chahiye', I felt was not smooth enough and sounded forced.
She is screechy on the higher notes in the 1st antara at 'dhadkano ki tarah apne dil mein mujhko chupalo'
But listen to the 2nd antara where she is perfect and you will see or rather hear the difference!!
The 2nd antara is in fact close to perfection in all areas and this is the one thats used as the 2nd antara in the song you get to hear as 'Tum mile' on radios where the 1st antara is sung by kumar sanu!!
All in all loved the expressions in her voice and she was perfect in the 2nd antara!! 👏

A very strong performance.

Breathlessness was a problem. The break between 'saare sansaar ka BREAK pyaar maine....' is another problem, caused by the breathlessness.

High notes are fantastic. Other than 'dhadkanon ki tarah apne dil MEIN mujhko chhupalo', I felt her voice held up at the high notes and actually sounded good. But she did sound strained when she sang the chorus right at the end of the song.

Transitions between lines are really beautiful. The song is very tough. After a few listenings, I did grow to like it. Expressions and harkats were the highlight of the song. The voice quality was astounding. You can really feel her conversing with you and the song can make a direct connection to the listener. Of course, if a performance depends a LOT on making a 'direct connection' then there are bound to be people who won't connect, too.
