Then mindblowing mahiya had lyrics like "Kise Kahoon Iss Dil Ko Hai Tumne Aise Churaayaan Hai Nikle Par Armaanno Ke, You Taking Me Higher Saiya Saiya Chhodo Mori Baiya", which also portrays that the girl loves the guy alot, but is it romantic song???
2) In the movie Chameli itself the song was shown as an item no. or dance no.. Its just a matter of common sense dearπŸ˜‰

But in both those songs you named the music and beat of the song was fast and dance-like. They were both upbeat songs while having those lyrics. While this song has romantic lyrics but is slow. The pace of the song dictates if it's a dance song, and both Mind Blowing and Sajna ji Vari Vari are very fast paced songs, or dance songs.

Can you give me an example of a slow song which has romantic lyrics and isn't categorized as romantic? Also, make sure the lyrics are serious romance, or meaningful. Not flirtatious or fun-like, like "Mindblowing Mahiya". I mean come on.

You really think sajna ve sajna comes into romantic category??πŸ˜• Aur yeh upbeat slow beat se ka explanation kaam nahi karta. Ab toh mujhe risingabove pe taras aata hai, ki uske select kiye judge ko romantic or dance song mein pharak nahi aata😲. Even a 4 yr old kid can tell that its not romanticπŸ˜†
Ok if it is a romantic no. than why was it shown as an item no. in the movie Chameli????πŸ˜‰

Ok. Yes you seem to be right here. Lyrics do not categorize the song as Romantic. Its a combination of both Music and Lyrics.
But then I agree with ssk bhai also. The songs you mentioned are really fast paced songs whereas this one is not that fast.
So you categorize this song as a item song. Right?

Why isn't it romantic? If we only listened to the song, and never saw the movie, or it was released as only an album without any kind of video, without a doubt it would be considered romantic.

The beat and lyrics are full on romantic. Just "listen" to it. See that bolded word? Listen to it. It's music, it's meant to be listened to. Not watched in a movie. So ultimately it's what you listen to should judge if it's romantic or not what they display on screen.

All your arguments have been on what you saw and not listened to. Even a 3 year old understands music = listening not watching.

Chameli is different, and this track by sunidhi proves why.

Lets start by listening it again.

Start.
She makes a killer start with her trademark strong high notes and then modulates at the end to half a scale lower. Perfect, just perfect.

As the track progresses, she goes one scale down from her usual singing and sings a line in one breath in correct control plus timing. Perfect, Just perfect.

The chorus is outstanding, so does the background music. Once again, perfect.

Further progress. There comes the high point. Improvisation of voice even further and that raag alaap in the word sajnaa-aa-aa, etc.

The end is equally outstanding. Her powerful voice to top it all.
Now why this track makes for a superb listening to your years? Get a good set of headphones and listen to the outstanding CLARITY of voice that sunidhi has put up. She has worked hard for this track and it pays off handsomely. Up and down in volume, perfect sync and voice control and scale of singing takes this track to new highs.

I did not see if it is a romantic track or a dance number or so on...just hear it and the pleasure increases. The more you listen to it, the more you come to appreciate the finer things that all have put into this composition.

Yes, sadhna is better. But sunidhi gets full marks for all round attention to detail and effort that she put into this track.

Pefection personified. Why? listen to it and you will know.

Its an obivious yes. If I call it romantic, then it will be like I am changing the whole definition of the word romance. There are many romantic songs which are a little fast paced but still they do have the element of romance either flirtatious or sad slow romance. But sajna ve sajna clearly doesnt portray any romance. I was quite surprised that noone commented on the song not being according to the theme.

That's a very futile argument to give that since its shown in movie as an item song it won't be a romantic song. Item song can be either romantic or dance number.

Here is one perfect example of a romantic item song.

So I assume that the director of the movie chameli didnt have any knowledge of music, as to what is romantic & what is item. Instead of showing it as an item he should have shown Kareena & Rahul bose romancing under the tree? right?

Strongly disagree. I will feel very romantic if my girl sings this song for me. You have to look from that perspective.

Well there you are. No one commented because no one feels like you do because you are quite wrong here.

You are still not answering my question. If it is not a romantic song, then in which category will you put it?

Man where are you taking this. That all depends on a movie's plot.
