Love the song! Actually Shakti was composed by Ismail Darbar, but the filmmakers needed one HIT song in teh bag for the film, so they went and hired the biggest hitmaker of that time, ANU MALIK, and the box-office-dope jodi Aishwarya-SRK to do a song.

Nobody remembers the other Shakti songs lol. This was the biggest hit. And I think it's catchy and tuneful, which is what you want in a filmi dance number!

We aren't rating the song. We're rating the quality of singing by the singer. And as far as I'm concerned no matter how pathetic the song may have been, Alka ji did a fabulous job singing it!

Yes I know very well what needs to be judged. Its not my fault if you can not read the posts correctly.
Alka ji didn't sing much in the song and I just didn't like the way the word kamina was rendered. Of course there might be other technicalities which you can but a layman like me can not find out. My ears told me its a 6. I'll stick to my points despite the song being sung by a person who I love to the core of my heart.

8 /10.

As a listener, I dont care about picturization, just the tune should be catchy and energetic singing should compliment the tune in sync. Alkaji did a superb job, her versatilaty is proven in making it catchy with her open voice throw and seemed at ease while singing this track.
It was a typical "alka" trait, strong at high pitches and complimented superb by sonu nigam.

This song can make a listener dance and it succeeds in it.

The theme mentioned is dance/item song. All the songs that I mentioned will fall under one of those two categories.

Here is what your co-judge said to me when I told him that Sunidhi will win this competition easily.

Not necessarily. Well so far yes. If they try to sing modern/item/dance songs yes. But if they go to more traditional/indian/dance songs, then they have a chance. By that I mean, dance songs that aren't that modern, yet still dance songs. In other words, avoiding the modern music like hip-hop and so on. For example, "Nimbooda Nimbooda", and some wedding dance songs, and so on. I think you get what I'm trying to say. Singing "Those" type of dance songs they can match Sunidhi.
But if they take the modern and item dance song approach, like "Latoo" or "Ishq Kamina", yes you are right...

So now you are telling me that judges are not thinking in the same direction.
