Round 4: Alka Yagnik

OMG, Risingabove...So far for two singers I could not give them anything less than a 10...and this Alka song is again one of the most beautiful songs I have listened...I wanna give a 9.5 for this song..But I will round it up to a 10😊

Some good transitions! Wonderful coordination with her counterpart also! She gently touched the notes where she needed to, and the high notes were just awesome!👏 I'll give her a 9!

Why is that alka jee asks "mere humsafar, mere paas aa" and I go in such a way that I come out and cannot give her anything less than a perfect 10?

Why is it that she has a voice so melodious that in this track, she sings with such feelings and makes us want to listen to this track again and again?

Why is it that her voice balances classical tones with such ease that it seems like this track, which is a pretty tough composition, seem so easy with her matured singing?

What is in her that she puts that small harkats and superb attention to detail in the middle of the track and backed by superb background music from anu malik?

the answer: aapne jo samah baanda is gaane mein, hum to aapke gaane mein is kadar kho gaye ki..agar hum aapko dus bhi denge toh woh bhi kum hai. She is truly a marvel in this track.

A beautiful track, I must say, but there is something very typical about it. Like I am listening to a mellow song from the 70's or 80's.

Alka ji's voice sounds so different and youthful. The singing has been done quite delicately, which was the first and foremost requirement of this song. The higher notes make her voice shriek especially in the start. Not much difficult portions to sing. There is not much scope here to create an impact if one compares this song to the rest of the songs in this round. The consecutive repetition of the title line, makes it a bit boring. A good performance overall.

There is definite romantic expression prevailing throughout the song. The innocence and beauty is definitely there. I would say that Alka ji has done a wonderful job as far as feel of the song is concerned. The tone is kept delicate and correct throughout the song.

I would have liked to give this track an 8 mark out of 10, but for the beautiful expressions given to this song by Alka ji, I would like to give one more mark. So, my score sums up to be 9 out of 10.

9 out of 10 for her singing & voice. But I just wish there was a little better song selection, alka has much better romantic songs then this one, infact she I thinkso has the most no. of romantic songs amongst all the other singers.

Thank you so much Risingabove for listening to my suggestion! Obviously if I chose this song, there is a reason I chose it. I won't chose a song that isn't worthy enough to be selected. And obviously when it is with my favorite singer. I think this is one of the best romantic songs sung by Alka ji. The main reason I chose it is because its just perfect!

This is one of Alka ji's first few songs from Refugee. I have watched the video many times in the past. She brings so much feeling and passion in her voice. She def has that romantic touch in her voice which explains why she has sung so many romantic songs till date.

Her voice control was so consistent throughout this song. Even her high pitches were so controlled and accurate. I have listened to this song many many times and each time I think its just better than the previous time I heard it. She has the perfect sur, taal, and sargam. The most important aspect in this song is her feel and touch of romanticism. You can hear it in her voice.

Even Sonu ji accompanies her so well. Both compliment each other so well, which I think is very important in duets.

So after anazlying her singing thouroughly and accurately I am happy to announce that I'll be giving out yet another 10! I'm been breaking my rules lately giving 10s! But honestly I think she was bang on in this song. Yes I always believe there is room for improvement. But then I can't give her anything lower than 9.5 and if I give her a 9.5, I must round up as this song was so close to being perfect.
