Round 2: Alka Yagnik

A beautiful song. A beautiful composition. Lovely lyrics. Memorizing voice & singing. But not the best in my honest opinion. I just didn't feel "Alka ji" in the song. No doubt she has sung the song very well, but I didn't connect as much to the song as I usually do. And since Alka ji is such a renowned singer and has song a large variety of songs her ratings become a lot more strict from my side. Because I know what her potential is as a singer! "Dekha Hai Pheli Baar" was a much better choice for me. This round wasn't a good one for Alka ji considering that this was the ONLY recent song she has had and therefore it was the only one that could have been used for this round. I didn't really connect with the song although its a very beautiful composition. I felt a lot of the song was high pitched. There could have been a lot more variation in it. I love Alka ji and I want to get my point across that she is the one who has inspired me into the singing field. But as I judge I have to be as unbiased as possible.

So considering everything overall, my final rating for this song would be a 6.5. But since that's not an option I'll round it to 7. I know Alka ji sings much better than what she did in this song. Nevertheless its not a bad attempt, just not the best!

6.5 / 10...Her voice was ok but unbearable until midway to the song and than it sounded bit better...Male singer did very good job...Loved his voice and rendition...

Excuse me. I have tried being extremely nice to you & I have done my best to respect your feelings and views. But I'm getting tired of this. If I rounded my scores up it is because I think the singing was better, not because Alka ji is my favorite. I love every singer in this competition. Do not accuse me of rounding up for Alka ji because she is my favorite and rounding down for the other singers. If I were that biased I would have rated this song a 10 just because Alka Yagnik ji is my favorite singer. But I am NOT biased and do not rate my favorite singers a 10 because no one in this world is perfect.

Hmmm, her range was very impressive, but the feeling wasn't there. By the end of it all, I was begging for her to stop. On the other hand, she had a very strong start, but couldn't maintain that. Her voice was going in all directions. It's an 8 from me!

hate the start and the finish of the song where it goes high pitch, the pitching was not all good and part of first half sounded like recitation

I love this song. Tu muskura is a very beautiful song, first time when I heard it I felt quite emotional. In alkajis recent songs, i mean past 3 years her voice has become or sounds a bit too sweet to digest that was the only weak thing I can point out in the song. But anyways tu muskura is a filmfare nominated song, & I feel overall alkaji has done a good job. I give her a 9/10!

I don't know but I love ARR's subtle compositions ..and the way Alka ji's voice starts softly makes it a very soothing love ballad.... hindustani classical alaaps at the end makes this number a pure delight!!!! ....Yes, her voice seemed a little unsure in the beginning but it didn't seem going off sur to me and she slowly picked up the mood as the song progressed....
