My sincere apologies to Alka ji, her fans, and her gurus/masters if anything I say comes out to be offensive.

Alka ji has been my childhood favorite singer. If there is one singer whom I personally want to get trained by, it would have to be her! I've grown up listening to her songs. And this song by far is one of her most precious master pieces. She has such a sweet and melodious voice incomparable to any other singer out there (in my honest opinion)! Many people think she has a very high pitched voice, which she does. But I think with her singing, she brings the characters in their movies alive. Whether it be Rani, Kajol, Juhi, Madhuri, Aishwarya...her voice is one of the few that suits almost any actress. She knows a lot of 'sargam', 'raag', and 'taal.' I do feel that at certain points in the song, her voice went down and deteriorated and didn't the right feel. Its really hard to pick the best song of Alka ji as she has song so many songs till date, and each one gets better than the other.

Taking everything into due consideration, I've come up with a final rating of 7.5 --> rounding that to 8! I love you Alka ji!

I ll give her an 8. The sweetness in her voice makes her unique. She definitely has much better songs then this one, so lets see how well she does in further rounds.

as much as I love alkajis voice, i did not enjoy this song at all, think if this was sung a little sweeter, with little bit more perfection in her higher notes it would have been better, almost felt like piercing voice when some of the notes were sung, and honestly want to give a 6.5, so rounding it off to 7

Lovely song ..foottapping music of the 90's ..or was it late 80's ??....Alkaji hit it right from the word go....in complete sur ...emotion is there ...BUT
like many debut singers I found her voice thin at higher pitch ....She is one of my favorite singers but I can't deny that it sounded mechanical in some places ...song without soul....at least this song doesn't have repeat value for me ....But I respect her a lot ..and she is an amazing singer ...
so she definitely deserves a ......8

Good singing by Alka Yagnik

She's obviously one of the greatest singers of all-time. So we expect great performances out of her. Overall in this song she was pretty good. Though I don't think this song was too difficult. It had really one slow beat that was the speed of a person talking pretty much. Didn't need much tempo adjustment. Furthermore, I don't think she was sharp in her high pitches. Nonetheless, overall, she had great voice quality, and did a good job singing here.

In golden times, I am and will always be a fan of two female playback singers-alka yagnik and kavita krishnamurthy.
Why? Its the quality of voice that attracts me to listen to them in as many songs that I can.

this is again a track that dates back to 1991 from saajan and nadeem shravan scored the music for this.

I like alka for her voice of course, but more for her inner attention to detail while singing which is unique only to her voice. One more thing unique is her "famous" high pitching which brings out the best in her tonal quality.

She has sung countless number of songs, sounds as melodious even today as she was 20 years ago and I like her versatility.

But this gets an 8. Why? Yes, in my books its a simple decent track from the early 90s which became a superhit but its not a track that I want to listen to again and again. I mean, its just straight forward singing (from the audience POV) and has much less scope of voice modulation. It's just a "typical song" which lacked a sparkle when I listened to it. She has sang much, much and much better tracks than these but this song canno be counted in my books as one of her best.

8, only on the basis of her outstanding melody that she has put.

Off topic, but i really like her 2 tracks which are actually from movies that sank without a trace. One, is "pyaar ke liye chaar pal kam nahi the" from dil kya kare, an other is "koi nahi aisa ki jo mujhko toke" from the 1999 movie dillagi that she sung with amit kumar.

First of all I am loving this game since it lets you revisit songs that you have grown up hearing 😊

Alka definitely lags behind in expression as compared to the male vocalist....Apart from that I dont find any glitches in Alka's rendition....Though she could have kept her pitch slightly on the softer side....

Could have been better! 7/10

One of the hit songs of its time.
The lovable quality of this song is its simplicity in tone. Alka ji has done a fairly good job here. However, the point remains that this is a fairly simple song to sing. The voice though creates a beautiful effect in parts, but also shrieks in bits in the higher notes. Overall, a nice song to hear. But, not quite impactful singing as it should be.
So, from me this song will get a 7 mark out of 10.

Is this related to Indian Idol 5, or is just a game on this forum?
