Comments can only influence public now that marking is out. Existing viewers have already chosen and only big fail will make them change their mind. You get attached to a singer and stop having the ability to judge. New fans get attracted from online uploads and shares. This favours the leaders as you end up seeing most of their stuff on your screen. Most leaders get big votes only on Finals Day. So a Satyam Shivam with 45Million views will bring in many Final Day voters who do not regularly watch the show. For leaders the judges do not matter any more I think. Those trying to catch up need new viewers to choose them and judges can help.
