Have been an ardent Indian and international TV viewer since past decades. Since 2010 i thought the rise of Gul Khan would be a breath of fresh air. She did deliver and yet she has lost her way after parting with Nissar Parvez (Geet and IPK). Whatever be, coming to why Imlie 3 has lost its tamarind flavour is because in todays times any kind of tracks in TV is undigestable by viewers.
It is the age of OTT, multiple platforms, different content. People are no longer foolish audiences. Even people in villages are exposed to Netflix, MX Player, Disney Hotstar. So why is 4 lions so short of ideas to include this stupid mask man concept borrowed from her own Original series aashiqana in disney hotstar since past few months. Even if this would have ended in brief once could understand but what is this foolishness where the killer wants to kill Imlie but intentionally missing chance always. Nobody buys such concepts. The killer wears that ugly mask and that poor awful black shawl which has not been washed since a decade it seems. Anyone would feel like dying before that killer for being unhygienic 
In past few months the show has presented how the mask killer attacks and then everything goes back to normal as if nothing happened. Accepted its fiction but that's what i am saying Viewers dont take any foolishness so easily these days , That is why the discussions are already floating that TV industry will ceast to exist in coming times as Digital will take over. Having been seen the journey of the TV since 2000s, i can say that older balaji shows had lot of domestic conflicts, suspense and all. 20 years back Ramola Sikand (sudha cjandran) from kahin kisi roz was one such vamp who planned accidents and murders against the protagonist but they were shown with some understanding. or 10 years back shows like bade acche lagte hain or even Qubool hai by 4 lions never showed illogical tracks. Are we progressing or going backwards. Sasural Simar Ka i remember 6-7 years back was hugely criticised for inserting supernatural elements inside a normal show out of nowhere. I doubt if Imlie would also have some nazar, naagin things upcoming. Their were some dialogues earlier about chaudhary sweets being a company with 500 crore turnover. But in the show they were unable to pay 1 or 2 crores , they had to make imlie make sweets and get order. Lol.
Some of my UP friends even talk of misrepresentation of the Eastern UP characterisation in the show. They dont talk and act foolishly like they portray about purvaiyya. and the song played at title sequence is also very poor
Portrayal of Agastya as written by the writers is one of the weaker male leads in Gul Khan Show ever. The actor is good but not as strong like the previous 4 lions male leads. Just as Dunki was the weakest Rajkumar Hirani film ever. The portrayal is not upto the mark so much that subconcious mind is wanting Vishwa and Imlie to kiss and fall in love. Suddenly that pairing is working. This feeling was not there earlier when Agastya was shown with lot of passion and determination. And as always Imlie is the village belle but she appears more feminist, JNU educated as through the dialogues where she appears as the activist. If she was so advanced in thoughts why didnt the character do something for herself rather than being in that desi bar. All these dont match up at all. Minimal consistency and logic cant be missing. And how convenient imlie took up the contract to save her brother but now she is so engrossed in chaudhary affairs and agstya even without any love acceptance from any side. Such Messed up show by gul khan is first of its kind. With such concepts, the next show could be titled karelaa
