THIS. Each word you just said, AKT was definitely problematic before but he turned into a complete ass after the Malini fiasco. Understandably he was the victim so even if we don't judge him harshly then but the moment he deleted the video, that was one huge betrayal to not only Imlie but him as well. To his self righteousness and honesty.

Oh god, SK part dissapointed me so much today. I ranted into the thread straight outta the episode. The gravity and depth of his character was gone. And out of all the people, they made him interact with AKT 🤦🏻‍♀️

Akt was never a likeable character

But GM played it well and hence the dilemma.

You can like an actor, his portrayal of a character without liking the character.

(Eg. Vanraj Shah, abhimanyu birla for me)

He was problematic but you're right, GM's charisma and the lack of another potential ML gave us no choice to somewhat support him earlier on (you don't have a choice in ITV if you want to watch it, the story will never end up with the girl becoming independent and moving onto better things).

Let's not talk about Abhimanyu Birla🤣

While there were a lot of glaring problems with Adi's character, he was never this heartless...weak writers always use such tricks like this to make one character worse off and the other appear flawless/saintly (I know ASR isn't) so they guide to a choice rather than let their characters stand on their own legs and give you the agency to choose.

Just my personal pheels about the shitty writing tbh

AKT was unfair n insensitive/cruel to either Malini or Imlie depending on with whom he was at that point of time from the beginning. As Malini has turned negative his most paaps are washed.

Though I agree with you on bold part.

Main problem abt this show is most character are used as plot device rather than focusing on that particular character arc till now only Rathore's are exception as they are new

Yep he was problematic, and he was justified because there was no option.

I also agree that he was butchered beyond redemption later on, but that was real life impact on the story.

But it wasn't too difficult for me to believe the downward arc.
