Happy Mothers day! - Journey with Imlie & Meethi

Today is a special day where children all around the world get together with their mothers (or mother-like individuals) & bond together. Similarly, our favorite show, Imlie, has given us a special bond to share wherein a mother, Meethi, only cares for the betterment & rights of Imlie despite facing several hurdles in her own life. A true genuine bond between sweet mother & her jhalli daughter. May we celebrate & cherish those moments we have with our mothers & fathers, those who have taught us to be self-sufficient & still a kid at heart! If possible, feel free to share any thoughts or words!😃

Aww thank you for this thread, Myrah! What a lovely one to share for Mother's Day for the BEST mother-daughter bond in this show❤️.

Firstly, I love how they aced the casting cuz these two actually look like real mother-daughter😆.....and the bond has just been so beautifully shown in terms of a single mom struggling to raise her child in the face of so much derision, humiliation.....the fact that she's raised a child that's such a bright light, a true Kamal in the keechad of their circumstances.....just warms your heart all the more seeing the way mother-daughter live for each other in so many ways🤗

So I'll add to this thread by sharing one of my fav. Imlie-Mithi-Adi scenes.....Imlie-Mithi trying to sacrifice their remaining meal so that Adi can eat, Adi overhears and insists that Mithi eat with him.....while Imlie watches them fondly from the side....moments like these are when the show is at its best :)

This is just simply awesome😍😘 thanks for making a good positive post on the beautiful bond of these 2... waise toh all mothers are worth cherishing but mothers like mithi deserve extra shoutout caz they ate the ones who ever compromise on anything halaat jo bhi Hon and are actual fighters. Who instill such a strong belief system and morals in their children and teach them never to compromise on these and provide them with a platform in whatever capacity they can to aage badho and never back down..

I love how mithi made imlie such a powerful character that she is that she never let her shortcomings in between the way of imlie ka progress that she went above and beyond to empower imlie . Truly a remarkable character mithi is and worth appreciation much much more

AY this is my favorite episode of Imlie so far! Firstly because of the dinner scene and also the first time We could see Adi in his heart considered Imlie as his wife by saying that he will eat from her plate for her long life 😳

Meethi-Imlie is the mother-daughter duo that has really made a place in my heart in recent times on ITV.

There is a current trend in ITV where either the FL is either an orphan more often or they do not have a good relationship with their mothers. Mom-son relationships are more highlighted. But thank god for this show that has depicted a beautiful mother-daughter bond.

Meethi is a fierce individual herself & has played a major role in shaping the fierce individuality of Imlie. The independence that Imlie depicts in all aspects of her life is most of the time awe- inspiring & sometimes frustrating but she has inherited it from Meethi along with her compassionate nature.

Meethi herself had SK as an option as a life partner throughout her entire life but still chose to live independently & dedicate her life to her daughter. Imlie is the first priority for her at all times. She can tolerate all the humiliation & disgrace herself but stands fiercely to protect Imlie at all costs. I just ❤️her.

Imlie also has her mother as her number one priority. She always has recognised her mother's sacrifices for herself & strives to do her best so that she can make her mother proud. She also can tolerate all insults & humiliation for herself but can never ever hear anything against her own mother. Her mother truly has been her jeene ki wajah for her.

The mutuality of love & respect between them where they play various roles of friends, support, guide to each other is very rarely depicted in ITV nowadays & we really should appreciate such gems when discovered😳.

The bond depicted in the show between Mithi and Imlie is one to cherish and savor, learn and grow. There are many memorable scenes of them along with the dialogues.

The most recent one by Mithi where she says one must not stay in a place if there is no respect was very powerful.

The one where Mithi asks Aditya to call her Amma was also a good scene.

I think also one of the earlier moments when she won the certificate & her mother already prepped the sweets. Definitely, key moments in their relationship w/o having fallouts is what makes their dynamics quite consistent.

@bold: +1....very well said. This is what adds a lovely layer to Imlie's development as a character....the struggles her mom has gone through to inculcate the values that Imlie has grown up with that have managed to hone her into such a strong, sorted individual even in the face of so much trauma.

The very fact that Mithi has managed to empower Imlie to grow so much beyond the limitations of her circumstances.....it's a really wonderful thing to watch. These two are the epitome of positivity in the face of so many setbacks.....unlike the other mothers in this show who are either psychotic negative characters (like AC) or totally neglectful of their own children (like Aparna and Adi).....Mithi stands out as the only truly fierce and protective mother in this show totally focused on her child.

Btw Myrah, thanks for tagging the actress playing Mithi....I never knew her real name......a round of applause to her for acing every shade of Mithi in this show so well👏
