While the roti ended up being there cuz it was meant to be there.....Unwittingly, Adi's boss got to have food made by Adi's first wife and everything that happened at the dinner revolved around Adi's first wife - Imlie.....even though the boss was joking about firing Adi or reducing his pay, I think the whole point of that nautanki rant from Imlie was to show that in her own style, it was Imlie that ended up being the main one fighting for Adi's job....lol

A few epis back, during that savitri pooja thing, Malini was the one shown praying for Adi's success at his job.....but today, it was Imlie that became the cause of it by impressing his boss without even doing much.....she was simply her mad self, and she made moti rotis, that's it.....Destiny decided that was meant to be her contribution as a wife in Adi's success😆. On the surface, it looked like Imlie just made a mess of the whole thing, but eventually it turned out that she was the main reason for the dinner's success.

I feel bad for Malini. Destiny is just not on her side. I wonder why? Is it because she has to pay for Dev's mistake? Dev chose his family, stability and security over Mithi. He wronged a young girl and left her behind on her own. The consequences have been grave for Mithi. Maybe this is destiny's way of telling Dev that your past will always catch up with you no matter how far you leave it behind.

As for the "gawaar" tag.....Imlie is more in the paagal mould than gawaar mould....I think she would be just as mad even if she was a small town/city girl....it's her basic personality to go in the kooky zone from time to time......she is equal parts mad and equal parts wise....a walking paradox.

I don't consider Imlie gawaar.....she's a Jhalli, she's a drama queen...but none of these things are cuz she's "uneducated"...which is basically what "gawaar" means.....Imlie is educated...the topper from her village....so it's not her lack of education making her so....she's just a mad girl😆.

True - she is educated and a topper at that. However I am not sure many high school toppers would behave OTT the way she does - at the hospital with the spectacle with the doctors and nurses - Adi asked Malini - will you tolerate your college kids doing this? And I agree. It's one thing to genuinely have fun by dramabazing but another to be genuinely making a mistake like mistaking guests...and she's done that twice. She is educated but gives the impression of an uneducated person - because she occasionally does not use her brains. Like you said - a paradox. An extremely mature person on one end and mad on the other. I guess everyone has some blond moments.

Here the cvs want to show that whatever imlie does is acceptable to everyone and all start liking her even after she insults them. The way she treated the boss today can actually put Aditya's future and job on stake. And in reality the boss would have not forgiven her and called her at the end for the so called Moti roti. The boss's behaviour was totally out of place. And coming to Malini, she did confess to herself that everything went well so she not think about the cake and she also said the boss that next time she will bake for them. Not even once she negatively thought about imlie. The way she felt bad was very normal and infact she was very calm. Honestly speaking, the storyline is good but the character of imlie is not written properly and also Adi's family are just too much. Even if u dont consider someone as a servant, will i give so kuch liberty to that servant that she can behave like a fool in a house and misbehave in front of guests? Pls think logically and reply

Lets just agree to disagree 😊

What a hilarious episode!!.. It was so much fun to watch Imlie, her antics and her Babusaheb's expression. How I loved his exasperated expression when he was watching her like "is bewakoof ladki ka mein kya karu" and kind of has just given up till she competed her nautanki. How far he is travelled that not only did he take her goof -up in stride and instead of giving her a lecture found a solution to cover up for the cake. 😊The second thing I loved was the the almost shocked look at the end where Imlie refused to eat the roti. Looks like Babusaheb is not used hearing the word "No". Surprise Surprise, Babusaheb be prepared to hear lot of "No" in the future and also brace yourself for the effort because, hopefully, you will need a lot of it to change her "No's" to "Yes"

Anyways, coming back to the episode, the line that struck me the most today was the one where Malini says that "cake aur moti roti mein bahot pharak hota hain". So true, right?. We all are attracted to the cake, it sweet, sophisticated, attractive almost like Malini whereas the moti roti is almost like Imlie, simple, unpolished and in the first glance, unappealing. Like is common in all of us, Aditya also desired the cake and wanted it, not realising that the cake is not what speaks to his heart and soul, that the "apnapan" from the moti roti is unbeatable. Hence, in the short run though, he might be satisfied with the cake in the long run, his heart and soul might only be satisfied from the fulfillment that comes from the "moti roti". Will his taste change because as he said "taste change hone mein kitna time lagta hain". Only time will tell.

The other thing that was brought out today was Malini insecurity. I think Malini has always been treated as a little princess. Obviously, as she was a alone daughter, she must be the center of her parents world. Hence, she is very used to being in the limelight. As long as she is the center, she has no issues sharing it with Imlie or supporting her too in front of Aditya and her mother. But today, the limelight was not on her, it was on Imlie and she did not like it. In her mind, it was because of the missing cake i.e. if the cake was there, she would be the center of praise and hence she was stuck on the cake. But nobody else, including Aditya was bothered with it. She is so used to people always soothing her ruffled feathers first in her mayeka and then in her sasural, that no one giving her and her missing cake a second thought was rubbing her the wrong way. The surprising part was that Aditya, who is so attuned to her moods, not once realized or addressed the fact, that she is upset. Imlie did, but Malini wanted it from Aditya. But for him, it was a small thing that she should forgive and forget. Relationships thrive on communication. You need to share the smallest of grievance or they tend to pile up as they repeat. So, even though, it was not a small thing for her and it was pricking her inside, instead of sharing it with Aditya, she decided to sweep it under the carpet and climb back into her happy castle.

No wonder they have had no arguments in the last 7 years. How could they when they are so reluctant to talk, discuss or communicate about their hurt or their innermost thoughts or feeling with the other. Well, today she did put a bandage on her insecurity but tomorrow if Dev and his mother dote on Imlie, its not going to sit well with the little princess and she might just start resenting Imlie. We might also see the reverse, where Malini is complaining about Imlie and Aditya is defending, thus adding more fuel to the fire.

I will end it with Imlie who is the exact opposite and does not leave one chance to taunt her babusaheb about his tendency to always give her "dannt " Imlieji, remember "hum unne hi daantein hain, zinne hum sabse zyaada apna maante hain". Babusaheb ke case mein bhi kuch aisa hi hain.

Lovely review as always, Pam😊

This epi was like an unexpected fun ride, wasn't it? I was kinda dreading how OTT things would get with the boss episode but somehow it all turned out more fun than I expected....especially thanks to the other nuances we got to watch.

@bold: I loved these two bits you pointed out as well.

I think it's becoming more obvious with time that either Adi and Malini never really talked through their tastes and just presumed they have the same tastes or they never had the same tastes......otherwise it's hard to square with the fact that Adi has been so enchanted with the simplicity and apnapan of a moti roti. His soul craves those things and that is why he is drawn to that moti roti....yet somehow he was never in tune with this before and neither was Malini despite being with him for 7 years. Even now, they are also not in sync about what is a small thing and what is a big thing....Adi dismissed the mishap with the cake as a small thing, while Malini is considering it a big thing....yet they aren't even able to communicate about it honestly cuz they lack that basic communication with each other.

In some ways it speaks to the fact that it is human nature to be drawn to the packaging of something.....what looks pleasant on the surface usually seems like the right choice.....and that is the case with Malini as well as the cake....they both look good, taste sweet.....but somehow they don't provide fulfillment. And this is not to say it's that way for everyone.....for many people, that might be more than enough....something that looks and tastes sweet. But there are some people for whom that isn't enough....and Adi is one of those people....he will realize in the long term that his heart seeks something with a more rooted apnapan, a unique simplicity....and that is Imlie. She is not packaged well, she is a mess both in appearance and antics...she is certified half-mad in many ways.......and yet she has a unique heart and a unique warmth that draws you in.

That could be one part of it.....Imlie and Mithi have paid for Dev's mistake all their lives....and now it might be Malini's turn to feel the consequences of her father's actions.

The difference I think may be in how she handles these consequences.....both Imlie and Mithi had the strength to withstand some terrible circumstances in the wake of Dev abandoning them.....but Malini lacks the emotional strength that they have....so she will likely shatter more. Ultimately Dev will have to bear this cross of both his daughters being dealt such a complicated fate.

This will be one side of it....the other side will be that there is always light after dark and dark after light.....Imlie has seen darkness for a big part of her life given the conditions she grew up in, then facing this forced marriage situation....so destiny may reward her with light at the end of the tunnel by bringing the right man into her life. While for Malini, barring her parents's bad marriage, things haven't been that dark....it has been mostly light....but now there may be darkness at the end of this light for her and it may be her turn to suffer. The wheel of destiny keeps spinning.

I wouldn't say that she does not use her brains but its more of a lack experience in recognizing and dealing with the city people. Yes, she is educated but she is also from an "Adivasi" village where they are very secluded. Their ways are very different from us city people and they are more trustworthy. Even an educated person can take time to acclimatized to a foreign culture, people, ways etc even though they have been exposed to a city world. Also its really not easy to learn and understand something that is so out of your comfort zone or that which you have never been exposed to.

In Imlie's case, first time she did confirm with the jogi's but with the boss she did not because she connected it with the first incident where she invited the insurance people in the house and hence was more cautious. There is no way for her to know or connect that Adi's boss would come in a suit, right? Why would she even think about that when she has had no experience of it before? Now she does so hopefully they will not repeat the same thing again but there will definitely be other goof-ups...😉 warna comedy kaise hoga....😃

When I look at Imlie, I honestly don't expect realism😆.....most ITV women fall in the zone of either being well mannered, wise, even-tempered bahus in the making or bubbly leads like in most Gul shows. Even within Gul leads, the crazy ratio is usually like 20-30% clowning around and the rest reserved for usual mahaanta or self-righteousness.

With Imlie, the ratio is just all over the place😆.....this girl doesn't fully fit into any category....she can be totally uncouth one moment, and then totally graceful the next.....she can be a total idiot in one moment, and then say the wisest things in the next.....she can be the epitome of selflessness in one moment, and throw a totally kiddish tantrum in the next.

At the end of the day, you either totally dive into the madness of Imlie or you totally reject it....I don't think there are any half-measures😆.....that is what I've discovered with her....you grow to love her with all her flaws included....which I suppose, in some ways is what a relationship is about too. Adi has his own flaws and Imlie has her own flaws....but for all their grumbling about each other, they are growing attached to each other with those flaws included. Adi too is growing attached to this total crackpot Jhalli....the last person he could imagine getting attached to😆
