What you're talking about is arranged marriage and I just couldn't believe my eyes that you just confused or compared arranged marriage with gun point marriage. Haa, yaar. But what happened was jab mere cousin aay khar mein I showed my excitement about Adilie and this show and we watched. My excitement turned to disappointment when she asked why are you promoting ema ? being a rationalist u r on goosebumps thinking about sindoor wala forced shadi. Usse argue karke karke mere man pigl gayi.
I'm still Adilie fan. But instead of making some compatibility issues between Adun, they are spontaneously showing Adi going closer towards Imlie while putting Malini in dark. Ok fine it's just his concern towards her. But what Imlie was saying? U r my pathi to her sis's hubby. She could have kept in her mind. I'm only 19 , phir bhi uski jagah me hoti tho kabhi aisa nahi bolti . That was the moment I really started to see how unethical Adilie would be.
If they show Aduns incompatibility issues for convenience acha hota. Imlie has the right to confess her feelings only after Adun divorce, otherwise she is Nandini. I will blame adi too although I was in support with Kunal. I'm sorry for bringing Silsila baar baar, but kya karu che, Adilie gives me KunDini vibes and Moolitya gives me KunDiLi vibes
The thing is , this is a product of entertainment. So what is this about promoting EMA ?? What's wrong with showing EMA anyway ?? Is EMA not a fact of reality?? It's as old as the institution of marriage itself. We want our tv shows to be realistic and gritty ,then why shy away when some of them try to show some real slices of life.
Remember what Tyrion said, own it up , use it as your armor so that it can not be used as a counter arguement against what you support or like.
Even I was extremely uncomfortable with the idea of EMA. I still am a little bit . But then I thought this is not a motivational or spiritual podcast video. This is not even a tv show that is meant to inspire us , that is not the motive, it's supposed to show us complex human interactions and events when human beings get trapped in complex web of fate. And it's just for entertainment purpose to be taken as such. These characters are not real. None of these is real. The content is as regressive and problematic as it gets , but who cares ??
If people can digest insane amount of vulgarity, nudity, gore ,sexual content in all its flagrant hues , including multiple rape and incestuous scenes and still praise a show like Game of thrones to high heavens because yes the story and story telling both are exceptional, then why can't we make peace with EMA and still continue to watch and support this show as long as the story and story telling are good at least tolerable ??
Why are we even trying to defend it or trying to validate it as marriage when we need not do such a thing ?? It actually comes from a deep need to put the leads on pedestals and hero worship them, searching for moral high grounds.
Aditya and Imlie are two common flesh and blood human beings and as long as we accept that, we can accept all their follies and mistakes and any future sins and still continue to be entertained by them, which is the entire point of the story.
If we want to get inspired, we should watch something like Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan , ever green and ever inspiring.
Most of the western tv shows and web series that are worth giving a shot are full of very human characters with extreme human follies . People still love , support and ship them.

Tbh ?? All the compatibility issues between Adini are only in the minds of the Adilie fandom ,because in the show's reality such a thing doesn't exist. 😆 We want them to be incompatible because it serves our purpose. But honestly, Malini is perfectly suitable for Aditya as well as his family. She's most adjusting and accommodating and has all the qualities of being the perfect wife and future mother. She's assimilated herself within Aditya's family as if she's always been here with them in this house , with every member absolutely loving her . She understands Aditya's drive for work and she has no problem with Aditya prioritizing his work over every thing, in fact she supports it. She's very supportive.
As for husband wife relationship, though they lack the friction, tumultuous passion of angsty lovers, they fit each other like hands in gloves. They exude an air of friendship and camaraderie and comfort . Just see the kitchen scene where she pulls his cheeks. Very cosy. In real life , what Adini share is the dream marriage scenario and if Imlie was not there , it'd not just have been a successful marriage , it'd have been an example of ideal marriage or perfect couple.
The only thing that is lacking in their marriage is that it lacks thrill or spice so runs the risk of running into boredom. Which is in fact very fitting and relevant in this case because in reality too most affairs occur because one of the spouses or both gets bored with the monotony of it and starts looking for thrill or change. It's not like every spouse who ever cheats have roving eye tendencies from the beginning. Which is why nowadays so much emphasis in being given on spicing up your marital life.
Imlie will win over Malini because she challenges him , she brings lots of fun N a sense of adventure in his life and somewhere beneath his cool serious mask , Aditya craves all of that. Imlie is khatta mitha while Malini is perfectly sweet .
