I honestly don't get from where some people are making the presumptions that Imlie can turn grey😆.....seems to me more like people want to misinterpret her actions as grey simply because she is accepting the truth of being married to Adi. But that doesn't make her "grey".

I agree with your point that Imlie has been shown as selfless from the very beginning and that will remain so.....she is the main character around which this entire story revolves....that isn't going to change. Her self-lessness will keep getting reiterated in different forms and ultimately Adi will learn to value it more.

Malini's love for Adi hasn't really been tested yet....she has gotten it all pretty much handed to her on a silver platter....she is pampered from all sides, both by Adi and his family. Only time will tell how Malini evolves when she is actually tested by destiny. Her mother is a dark force in her life that she really isn't strong enough to fully stand up to....so the signs are there that she may succumb to her mother's influence and Adi might start to see a different side to her personality then.

Right now, the makers are building up Malini's sweetness and showing her as magnanimous because she doesn't feel threatened or insecure....the moment insecurity arises will be her real test. She is doting on Imlie like a little sister only because she is secure in the fact that Imlie's position will always be less than her in that house....at the end of the day, no matter how much the family loves Imlie, Malini has the status of being actually related to them as the DIL.....if Malini ever feels that properly slipping away from her, that is when we may see a different side to her.

Malini may have shades of grey later on but eventually since both her and Imlie are sisters, the makers will likely try to show Malini sacrificing and bringing Adi-Imlie together.....all that is much further down the road though. Right now, they are still in the early days of Adi-Malini's marriage so they still have to show the cracks developing slowly.

Perhaps the makers want afitya to see the difference between both the girls . Example imli love is selfless. Though being the first wife she sacrificed. Aditya has realised this. He is still on guilt trip mode.

Yes Malini character ka andaj abhi tak fully nahi dhikhaya hai. We have already saw some stern shades of malini at mehandi time scolding his brother and talking about Imli' s husband before aadi. Aadi bhi dar gya tha. After all she is Mrs Chaturvedi daughter. Let see.

She was in her own happy world. Women are known for their intuition and with a 7 year relationship it should be instant , but the protective shell that she has put around her, did not even let her notice things that might even have a pinch of sadness attach to it. . One time when it reached her, which is when Aditya told her about his marriage and subconsciously she realized that there is no way she can turn it around, avoid it, explain it away, she went into a panic attack.

I think its going to be the same with Adi and Imlie. It might prick her, Anu might point it out, but she is always going to find excuses, avoid it, ignore it, or explain it away till it all comes crashing down at her. I would, at this point, just call her unlucky, because previously when Adi had told her about it, he would have stood next to her, be her support, be firm is his decision on who he wants as a life partner and they could have handled the situation as a team. (but then there would be no drama 😛) This time when she finds out, Aditya might feel guilty, he will be sorry, he would take the blame but will he be on her side, will she be his choice of a life partner, will he still be in love with her? Well, only time will tell us that.

Well, I do not consider Imlie as the second women or Malini as the first or vice versa. For me, Imlie is the first wife, Malini the second. Its kind of right currently, because Imlie knows Aditya loves Malini and she has accepted it. Thus, I feel it should be same for Malini i.e. to make it right for Malini in future, if and when Adi falls out of love with her, she should be the first one to know i.e. Adi confession to Imlie should only happen after the revelation to Malini. @bold: I completely agree. Adi-Malini actually do not share a healthy relationship but they both don't seem to realize it....they seem to consider common interests as a sign of love and compatibility....without realizing the deep communication issues they actually have. You make a good point about Malini's personality being a lot about putting a bandaid on everything to avoid unpleasantness....she is emotionally a very weak/fragile person who cannot cope with any kind of unpleasant situation....so she either tries to deny it or avoid it. But burying your head in the sand doesn't change the truth and only makes situations worse long term.

I do think Adi is part of the group that has enabled this for Malini. Yes, her parents's messed up marriage contributed to her messed up emotional state long term....but Adi also treats her like a child that he needs to pamper rather than a life-partner he can share everything with. In every situation as she breaks down crying, he rushes to hug her and pat her head like she's a kid who needs soothing. I can't help but contrast this to Imlie who has seen worse traumas at a younger age and holds herself together on her own stength....she never constantly seeks support to stand upright like Malini seems to despite being a modern/educated woman.

Adi doesn't seem to realize that the right partner for his life is someone who is emotionally and mentally strong....and Malini is not that person. Being together for 7 years didn't make her that person either....heck, it seems like in these 7 years, he's mostly been away on assignments so did they even really get to know each other in that time that well? They only know each other's likes and dislikes....not the highs and lows of each other's personalities. Adi-Imlie on the other hand in just a few short weeks have faced such extremes together that they've ended up seeing the extremes of each other's personalities also.

As for the "other woman".....that is how they will get labeled until the truth of both marriages is revealed both in the city and the village....and then people can debate the legality of either marriage....but the point remains that they are both his wives as of right now because he married both of them with all the rituals. It is simply the perception that varies depending on the group of people who know one half of the picture.

I strongly doubt imli would turn grey or the makers woukd want to tarnish het image as dusri aurat.

I strongly believe that there is a time where aditya will see the difference between both girls.

And i strongly feel makers are intentionally going to push imli towards aditya through malini.

I do not think we can compare Silsila to this show. The premises are completely different. Silsila was all about EMA and this show is about destiny, circumstances and choices that we are forced to make based on that.

Also, Nandini was the girlfriend, Imlie is the wife. Kunal consciously chose to be with Nandini while married and Aditya was forced into a relationship with Imlie before his marriage. Kunal/Nandini never felt guilty nor showed it, but Aditya/Imlie are feeling guilty even when they have no feelings for each other but because they are hiding a secret from Malini as it might impact her health. There are no parallel's.

I think Malini will have periods of insecurity and grey behavior but she will never go fully negative.....the main USP of this show is that other than 1-2 characters, nobody is an outright villain....they all have human failings and they get trapped by destiny.

Adi may notice the differences b/w Imlie and Malini himself but I think his guilt trip is too strong for him to ever be able to feel free to make a choice until Malini frees him from that guilt.....he's built his entire life around being some kind of obligation to be Malini ka pati....so he will need to be freed from that to work up the courage to move forward in life.

@bold: Exactly....I honestly don't know why every topic in this forum keeps bringing up Silsila references.....the storylines and characters are completely different. But so many people insist on comparing them😕.

As far as I know that show was about an active EMA.....the husband wasn't forced into any affair, he chose it actively.

Here, Adi-Imlie were trapped together by destiny, and secondly they are married per rituals....so this isn't a case of attraction overpowering people into having an EMA.

I also find it incomprehensible how people are comparing a relationship as chaste as that of Adi-Imlie where they aren't even attracted to each other yet, to a show where the EMA was built on the overactive hormones of two people.

Imlie has the backdrop of bigamy, not EMA. I hope people can understand the difference.
