In defence of Dev

I find Dev very normal and real.

He is behaving exactly like a man his age would do. If this wasn't an over-the-top Indian TV drama, Dev's plight would be less dramatic but still a fantastic story idea.

He is currently in his 50s so when he was about 20 years younger, he went to rural India to find inspiration for his art and fell in love with a captivating woman. He was already married but not happily married. So it is only natural that he has an affair with someone he felt an instant attraction to. That's what men do (and some women)! Really, that is what happens in the real world!

It was more than a one-night stand but both were adults. His wife forced him back to go back home. Now, he had the choice 19 years ago, to divorce his wife, leaving his young daughter, and going back to Midthi. He chose not to rock the boat and stayed with his family. Most men would do that. It takes guts to do anything different and Dev is just a normal guy.

He didn't contact Midthi again because it would make things awkward. He chose his destiny. His dreams would sustain him as he ploughed ahead with life, unhappily.

He didn't know about the child. Now he does. I am excited about the future of this storyline.

Totally agree. I feel anu character is toxic full tank. No human can live with her. Too status conscious tempremental arrogant rude etc. Who could tolerate this woman. Worst of all laser mouth.

She humiliaties .almost everyone around her. Blind with greed power money. She values everything for money. Show off old hag

Anu is the worst character in tge show. Too me she doent even look normal. She is a rich pathetic possessive psyco

Yeah. He is a poor thing. Staying with anu would have been horrible for him. So when he met meethi si meethi his heart dropped. Only mistake he did was not using a contraceptive. People should think about pregnancy before banging each other.

I am not sure if he was unhappily married to Anu before he met Mithi. His mom mentioned Anu was not like this before. She fought with her parents to marry Dev and financially supported him. Only after his visit to Pagdandiya, Anu changed because she realized Dev left his heart behind.

Maybe they'll show us the background a little more. If Dev was unhappy in his marriage, then maybe he isn't as guilty. But still, he should be more sensitive towards Anu since he is the one who strayed. Maybe that's why he stays quiet sometimes when Anu lashes out.

I was assuming he was unhappy in his marriage to Anu, therefore when he got a chance for some short-lived happiness he took it. Gladly indulged in his extra-marital affair to feel a tiny bit of happiness with a woman he fell hard for.

Anu is not wrong in her accusations at Dev. They both deserve better. I feel Anu is wrong done by. She is harsh and reliant on her wealth to make people value her because she is miserable and feels unworthy. Her husband rejected her.

Now a little less shouting and some quiet truthful conversations will be a good start. Then a whole lot of emotional soul searching for the entire family as they adjust to a sudden new family member. I look forward to this storyline

I disagree, you can tell from what Anu said, both were madly in love and she faught her own father to get married to the man she loved. Anu was the typical rich girl and Dev, the poor artist.

If Dev was truly unhappy, EMA is never the answer. Anu knows something happened and for nearly 20 years, he hid the truth.

In the end, I think Anu knew she lost Dev, so she became bitter, to lose her husband love, the love that she faught her family for so she concentrated on making her daughter happy. Today, she said to Malini, she doesn't want her to go through what she did, no mother does.

But what Anu is wrong is her treatment of Adi and the family. Her daughter is married, she needs to show respect to her daughter sasural.

Dev was wrong and is still wrong for doing EMA, he hurt his wife and his daughter. Anu is right to feel hurt, bitter but she is not right to look down on people.

As others said, his mother said that she was not like that before, Anu said she fight for him, she helped him in his job!

Maybe she was controller freak, she is possessive lover, as a rich girl she only accept yess! And always get what she wants!

But he is the one who get in an affair! He cheated 2 women! Normal maybe, but definitely not acceptable by any way or reason!

Maybe she forced him to com-back and even blackmailed him by their daughter, she don't want a divorce it will affect her status.

But it definitely hurt her ego!

And now he had a second chance with Imlie, to be a father , he could give her his name , support her as a father, but till now he is afraid on his status, Millani, what Aditya and Tripathi will think about him and afraid of his wife reaction!

He is really a coward!

Again, people are judging Dev from the high perch of their value systems. Your values may not align with Dev's but the fact is he is behaving like a normal flawed individual. He engaged in a relationship when he was not free! He knows he made a mistake and then hid the truth because he did not have the guts to face the reality. This man is not a saint - he is flawed.

Just like Aditiya. Aditiya is behaving like a normal person who is caught in an unreal drama. He does not have the balls to deal with this entanglement of two marriages. He is lame.

I am liking Dev's story better than Aditiya's in this soap opera. I am excited to see how Imilie's parentage story unfolds.

Maybe anu was the one truly in love with dev but not dev. If she could go to the extend of going against her parents that means she was madly in love with him.

She was supporting him financially . So perhaps he married her for gratitude sake.

But the love of his life was meethi. If he had truly loved anu he wouldnt have cheated her.

It is not necesary that if two people get married they are in love.

He did wrong to meethi more actually. And his action was justified coz of malini.

Ok leave dev aside. What is it that she keeps humiliatini g everone around her. Including her MLA.

She belongs to rich parents and she placec price tags on everything. . So which human could live with this alien.

And regarding dev anger. She started it by keep taunti g and repetitively putting things in a way plus her scarcism that lead him to be pushed to react that way.

And she has no rute to humiliate imlie and malini in laws each and every time.

She has done ehsaaan on her husband for marrying jim and she has always revealed to him without me u are nothing.

Marriage success depends on how the woman handles her husband. Aek aurat hi apna ghar abad ya barbad kar sekti hai.

Her possesiveness pushed her husband towards another woman.
