Technically a man like shiv - who has spine, clear sharp thought, a go getter and good honest man wouldn't rush into marriage with a girl he just met. In an ideal situation he would have dated more and simultaneously wooed his mom without compromising on surilis respect. Rushed wedding also means putting pressure on surili and her family, i feel someone like shiv wouldn't do that. But as it's adaptation this is needed for drama. It will be interesting how shiv left home for surili, came back with her in tow and how he will handle both ladies.

I've seen the original so I understand that its an adaptation.. even in the original, I had the same issue of them marrying literally after going on one 1 date. In this one, at least they showed them having some conversations over video call, having the convo about their difficulties at the beach, then going on a date, so I was relived and happy to see that they're building that connection, unlike the OG.

Like the whole courtship phase before everyone finds out is always the best. So I was hoping, given that this is an ITV show, they'll drag that a bit and show them having cute fights, moments etc but they just rushed into the wedding. And worse, they didn't even show the wedding?! It just made me pissed.

Completely agree! Shiv is someone who plans things thoroughly.. so the whole idea of him just marrying her after going on 1 date is so so out of character. Not just Shiv, I am surprised that Surili wasn't shown questioning it either. She has her responsibilities, plus she's constantly been shown to love her freedom and live the way she wants. It almost seems like she settled and settled for don't know what? Yeah they're in love, but how does it not cross either of them that they don't even know each other?!

Also one thing that was so inconsistent both in the OG and in this one so far is the way the ML ignored the mum's phone calls and appeared to live his life his way on his own terms, but after he marries the FL, suddenly he abides by his mum and wants to live in the same house rather than his own house in the city, and lets his wife get humiliated by his mum.

Sigh.. I am just frustrated. HAHA

I agree, why would they rush the marriage like this? Even if we say that it's more than 1 date - considering all they have done over the past 2-3 months. But still, there's not enough for them to get married.

If Shiv was in trauma of his past love being shown the door by Rani Ma, as mentioned many times. I don't see why Surili would agree to a rushed marriage like this. This jump didn't make any sense to me.

And, again, Shiv's guiding principle has always been his righteousness. Didn't he say to Surili that "aap humei aur humari maa ko alag mat samjhiyega" when he was apologizing her money kaand? Then why would he do this to her suddenly?

Too many questions left unanswered.

this show seems another version of saas bahu sautan drama idk what sony wanted it to be why they took it. Unless shiv takes repeated stand for his wife and his mom becomes good. Swatilekha also moves on. Everyone healing from trauma and co existing

No, the scenes today were again fairly refreshing. I feel like they want the show to be a mix of modern vs traditional. So it's not the typical Sony TV show which is aimed at digital audiences only. They want it to reach more of mainstream audiences - and I watch YRKKH, so can say that this show is much better.

Its definitely different from Sony shows!

In other pointers, did you guys like today's episode? Loved the way Shiv told Surili that she doesn't have to change, first with saying that the idea is that my mom likes you - not what you wear.

Then saying that you don't have to change, the situation will change.

I also really really liked the fact that Surili said she wore that Indian outfit to take efforts from her side, to convince his mom. While it shows a bit of the conditioning the society imposes on marriage and married women generally - it was nice to see Surili talk about making efforts, as we have already seen Shiv make most of the efforts.

initially its a lot of saas bahu drama with both bahus and the MIL pitting them against eo trying to turn her son against the unwanted bahu, but some things happen that change things if they follow the og the bahus both getting pregnant one after the other will mellow thing down no idea if this version will copy that coz surilis pregnancy will cause some drama for her and shiv if they follow the og and something related to his past will rear its head

I really loved today's episode. Definitely took a lot of my frustration away and brought my excitement for the show back😊

Maan's poem for Surili was lovely.. I really adore his character. The way he not only put his love aside, but welcomed Surili with open arms and a promise for support was so so endearing. I hope we get to see a lot of him as his own character in this version and he doesn't just remain as Surili / Shiv's confidant.

And our leads.. GAHHHHH I LOVED THEM SO MUCH TODAY.❤️

This is the Shiv / Surili that I fell in love with at the beach and first date. A couple that communicates, shares their concerns with each other, and accepts each other for who they are. I love what Shiv said about Surili not needing to change herself, rather it is everyone who should accomodate and accept her. That is one of the most progressive lines I've heard from a ITV ML in a long time. After all, she left her house to come to this house, so why should the efforts be from her side only, and he fell in love with her, not the ideal person for the household.👍🏼

Also love the little romantic bits of her lifting her up, and them hugging at the end.. so refreshing to have ITV leads show affection for each other in such a normal way. Tina and Jay were perfect today!

Why are they moving at jet speed?!

They need to slow down.. let them ease a little, and bond together but here they are already having such huge fights..

Yeah, but this toh had to happen, Rani gave so many promises to Swatilekha and her family. Her mom had to come and drag her down.

Don't know how they did it in the original, but I do expect clashes every now and then considering there's still so much to be cleared between them
