Mumbai, Jan 22 (IBNS) They'd hit rock bottom when television actress Smita Singh went public with her protest against Zee TV's popular soap Hitler Didi's producer Ila Bedi for late clearance of her dues.
The actress had even allegedly threatened Bedi about enlisting the support of the actors' union and taking action against her if her payment wasn't immediately made.
Bedi had expressed deep resentment over the public humiliation and shown the actress the door.
After the ugly exchange, nobody would have imagined the two to call it a truce and work together again.
But strange are the ways of Tellywood … the producer and the actress have not only made peace but Bedi has gone to the extent of taking Smita back into the same show.
When the actress was asked to leave the show, the track of Hitler Didi had shown her character Sunaina Bhabhi running away from the Sharma household with her husband Munna's lottery money.
Now, viewers will see Smita in an all-new avatar of Guru Ma – a widely followed spiritual leader with special healing powers.
She will be seen taking her procession through the streets of Chandni Chowk where the Sharma family members will spot her … given that the actress will be in a state of disguise wearing glares and a wig, they will not recognize her at first, though all of them would be left wondering where they have seen her before.
Speaking of her return to the show, Smita said, "I am glad that I'm back on the show. It's unfortunate that I had left the show to begin with. I prefer to let bygones be bygones."
"I'd rather not get into what had gone wrong, what's important is that Ila and I have a cordial working relationship again.
"My role in the current track of the show is that of a Guru who has special healing powers and will be soon approached by the Sharma family to treat Indira's condition," she said.
